An exhibition to provide patients with a connection from the hospital to the outside world. 20% commission from all works sold during the year will go to help the many programs and services the hospital provides. The Exhibition runs from 8 September 2014 to January 2015 - you are welcome to explore these works and works by all 11 Artists participating in this years Art Program - by appointment. ‘The Making of Soup’ the work is constructed on a backing perspex 100 x 150 cm x 10 mm thick the Boards are - cut pieces of Stand Up Paddle Boards + Paddle all art work was carried out in the spray booth at Studio@Vantage by artist - Wyn Vogel
Image left shows the work sitting in the spray booth minus the hibiscus and final spray details. To get to this stage the boards and the backing perspex have been coated with many layers of spray paint using commericial spray cans only. The technique in this Installation utilised enamal spray paint face masks and many hand cut stencils -
Thanks to Starboard SUP Stand Up Paddle - Australian Distributor Ian - AusWind - Perth - WA for coordination and contacts The Boards were supplied by SurfFX - South Port - Qld The Paddle - supplied by Sunshine Coast Kite Surfing Cotton Tree - Qld Design, development and art work - some detail left the layering of the hibiscus and the salt spray! Mixed Media Artist - Wyn Vogel The boards glued and screwed together by Brennan and his Team at Coolum Beach Mitre 10 a late working session before lock up the night before the morning after - right - thanks so much Guys!! Simon from Cottage Plastics - Sumner Park - Brisbane supplied the perspex and on the morning of installation - cut the critical slots to mount the boards for me - thanks Simon!! Also a big thanks to Mark - St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane for the final installation on the wall!!

‘on the wall’ The rush of white water as the boards hit the wash bringing the ‘Outside In’ and hopefully providing some light relief for all the patients and staff as they walk the floor! Thanks to St Vincents Private Hospital for such an amazing Art Program and the opportunity to participate
