The MATADERO MADRID is a recently created cultural centre, a great example of industrial refurbishment of a XIX century building. Castro culture (Galician: cultura castrexa) is the archaeological term for the material Celtic culture of the north-western regions of the Iberian Peninsula (present-day northern Portugal together with Galicia, western Asturias and north western León) from the end of the Bronze Age (c. 9th century BC) until it was subsumed by Roman culture (c. 1st century BC). The most notable characteristics of this culture are: its walled oppida and hill forts, known locally as castros, from Latin castrum "castle", and the scarcity of visible burial practices, in spite of the frequent depositions of prestige items and goods, swords and other metallic riches in rocky outcrops, rivers and other aquatic contexts since the Atlantic Bronze Age. This cultural area extended east to the Cares river and south into the lower Douro river valley.

For this campsite guesthouses we wanted to recreate this kind of primitive living áreas but with new materials, showing how this kind of historic architecture can be constructed today. The intention is to design a campsite the way it could be built by our ancestors.

During the XIX ARCHITECTURE BIENAL I had the oportunity of talking with SMILJAN RADIC, I asked him about being my tutor for my university thesis and he agreed. In addition to being an incredible learning process, I could hepl him with some graphic works about his publications. The EDICIONES ARQ company (an editorial created by the Chile Catholic Univeristy) needed a graphic work adaptation of his plans of his CASA PARA EL POEMA DEL ÁNGULO RECTO. The design was based on a poem and there is certainly something quite mystical about this dwelling. Sustainability and iconicity where the two confronting themes of 120 hours 2014. through a collaboration with Norways biggest music festival, The Øya Festival in Oslo, we set out to challenge the architectural political, social and technical conventions that have been associated to the practice of green architecture in the last decade. The assignment was to design a structure that manifested a new take on the problem of oslo 120 HOURS creating a sustainable architecture. the wording of the assignment set up a conflict of interNORWAY MEETING POINT est in demanding an icon for the uniconic. QUEENS HIGH LINE new york city EXTENSION USA URBAN PARK january2014

The site selected for this competition is the former Ozone Park Station, abandoned when the Rockaway Beach rail line shut down in the 1950s. Centrally located in the neighborhood and close to both subway lines, this platform is the only location that provides an increased width. The station is located between 100th and 99th Streets, and 101st and 103rd Avenues in Ozone Park, Queens. The 2 tracks, elevated 15 feet above street level, feature cantilevered extensions on both sides which formerly served as the platforms for passengers awaiting the train. ENYA selected this site, located at the southern end of the proposed QueensWay, to serve not only as gateway to the larger park system but also be a model for what community hubs along the railway can become.

So we think in Urban Orchards that can attract neighbours to visit the park and rent them, we can mix nature, rest, walking, running, ecology, design, and over this all, reactivating this QUEENS neighbourhood and conect it to the NYC high line.

BROMMA AIRPORT NOISE stockholm REDUCTION SWEDEN WALL february2014

Swedish airport operator Swedavia has launched a competition to find an innovative solution that will reduce ground noise affecting the residential area of Bromma Kyrka, close to Bromma Stockholm Airport. The challenge is open to individuals and teams from anywhere in the world. Swedavia says it is looking for ideas that represent “innovation and clever design” and follow certain criteria in terms of feasibility, noise reduction, financial soundness and aesthetics. Bromma is Stockholm’s city airport, situated just nine kilometres from the city centre, with the closest residents living only 180 metres from the runway and therefore exposed to noise from aircraft and airport vehicles. Workers from Bromma airport told us that there is a big old wheels collection at the airport, from old planes, trucks and vehicles in general and the idea was to put all this rubber inside our structure to reduce noise, due to the insulating power of this material. To improve this barrier we expand it making a ZIGZAG shape that generates the swedish WELCOME word (even for a better find in google maps).

The South America Project (SAP) is a trans-continental applied research network that proactively endorses the role of design within rapidly transforming geographies of the South American Continent. SAP specifically focuses on how a spatial synthesis best afforded by design can provide alternative physical and experiential identities to the current spatial transformations reshaping the South American Hinterland, in particular fast paced modes of resource extraction and an unprecedented regional integration at a continental scale (primarily through roads, energy grids, fluvial corridors, and telecommunication networks). Launched by Felipe Correa and Ana María Durán Calisto, with the support of the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, and the Loeb Fellowship, the project brings together a broad host of academic insitutions, scholars and designers from diverse fields, in order to create a projective platform that can allow for Architecture and the diverse disciplines affiliated to the constructed environment to actively partake in proposing more comprehensive models of urbanization for South America .

This house was projected in a very sloping plot. The program wanted a minimal living place and a minimal studio with a pool.

The main idea was to reach the place by car. Once there, you descend into the house, opening the door and deciding where to go, the living ĂĄrea or the studio.

One of the trees separates the studio from the house and welcomes you when you arrive. We ďŹ nish the house skin with alerce wood, a materila that gets a grey colour close to concrete with the time, and we place the wood beams strategically depending on the use.

GLORIES ARQUIA barcelona ‘’CHURCH’’ SPAIN PAVILLION may2016

The physical and geographical centrality of the Plaça de les Glories had not resulted so far the urban center that Cerdà planned for this area of Barcelona. Located at the intersection of the three main avenues of the city, Glories is now in the joint between the urban system and the future Cerdà green axis linking parks Trinidad, Sagrera and Ciutadella. Glories represents an opportunity to create a park-plaza, including new contemporary dimensions, such as biodiversity and climate comfort and space for everyday recreational practices. Our proposal is a pavillion that starts with a human scale and grows while you access the v o l u m e . The estructure consists in tree trunks that conform the typical catalonian VAULT, architectural historic symbol of the área.

Once you are in the pavillion the ceiling starts to grow untill we are in a circle that allow us create events, rest or only isolate us of the city noise.
