2015 정림학생건축상 다공성 무지개떡 도시 Junglim Architecture Awards for Student 2015 Porous Rainbow-Cake City

2014. 10. 10 ~ 2015. 1. 4 2015 정림학생건축상은 도시의 근간을 이루는‘밀도’와‘복합’에 초점을 맞추어‘저층-고밀도’주거 형태가 복잡한 도시 상황을 보다 쾌적하고 여유로운 삶으로 변화시킬 수 있음을 제안하고자 한다. 이번 주제에는 세 가지 키워드가 구성을 이루는데 다공성(Porosity), 무지개떡(Rainbow-Cake), 개 성(開城, Open Fortress)이 바로 그것이다. 국내외에서 활발하게 활동하는 네 명의 건축가 -황두 진, 지정우, 황지은, 임동우- 와 함께 근미래에 우리에게 요구되는 구체적인 프로젝트를 진행한다. 정림학생건축상은 다양한 분야와 적극적으로 소통하며 새로운 시대에 새롭게 제기되는 문제들에 협력을 통한 건축적 해결을 중시한다. 오는 2015 정림학생건축상은 도시의 근간을 이루는‘밀도’ 와‘복합’에 초점을 맞추어 <다공성 무지개떡 도시 Porous Rainbow-Cake City>를 주제로 삼았 다. 현재 우리가 안고 있는‘고층-고밀도’아파트는 지역과의 단절, 높은 기계 의존도, 단지 밖을 벗 어나는 긴 그림자 등의 문제가 있다. 이에 반해‘저층-고밀도’주거형태는 복잡한 도시 상황을 보 다 쾌적하고 여유로운 삶으로 변화시킬 수 있다. 건물의 전 층이 단일 용도로 구성되는 것을 소위‘ 시루떡’에 비유한다면, 층별로 용도가 달라지는 경우는‘무지개떡’이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 복합 용도의 건축물은 직장과 주거 간의 근접성을 높이고 건물과 길의 관계를 긴밀하게 만들 수 있는 잠재성이 있다. 이는 단지 한국만의 문제가 아닌 전 세계의 어반 디자인이 고민하는 것으로, 2015 정림학생건축상은 국제공모전을 통해 문화적 배경은 다르지만 동시대가 공통적으로 겪는 도시 문 제를 건축을 비롯한 다양한 학제간 교류로 해결하길 기대한다. 문의 www.junglimaward.com

제5회 대한민국 해양디자인 공모전 5th Korea Marine Design Competition

12. 1 ~ 12. 3 (재)부산디자인센터(www.dcb.or.kr)는 (재)중소조선연구원(www.rims.re.kr), (사)한국해양산업협회(www.kami. kr)와 공동 주최하는 제5회 대한민국 해양디자인 공모전을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 해양디자인에 관심 있는 대한민국 국민이라면 누구나 지원 가능하며 대상은 산업통상자원부장관상, 부산광 역시장상으로 상금이 각 500만 원이며, 총상금은 2,500만 원이다. 공모분야는 레저장비, 안전/산업 장비, 공간, 커뮤니케이션 부문이며 참가방법은 공모전 웹사이트(marinedesign.dcb.or.kr)에서 사전등록 후, 작품 접수일에 맞추어 출품 신청서와 작품을 제출하면 된다. 사전등록은 2014년 11월 17일에서 11월 26일까지이며, 작품 접수는 12월 1일에서 12월 3일까지이다. 지난 공모전 수상작들과 공모전에 관한 내용도 해양디자인 공모전 웹사이트에 있으니 참조하면 된다. 주최기관은 제5회 대한민국 해양디자인 공모전이 해양디자인산업에 대한 저변 확대 및 수준을 향상시키고 해양산업 경쟁력 강화, 해양디자인 전문 디자이너 발굴을 통해 해양산업과 디자인산업의 산, 학, 연, 민, 관 교 류 기반을 조성할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다. 문의 marinedesign.dcb.or.kr

Daniel Libeskind의 특별 초청 세미나 Special Seminar_Daniel Libeskind 지난 7일 금요일 한양대학교 백남 음악관에서 Daniel Libeskind의 특 별 초청 세미나가 개최되었다. 한양대학교 실내건축디자인학과, 건축학 부/건축대학원, LINC 사업단이 주최한 이번 세미나는 강당을 가득 메 운 학생들과 강의를 듣고자 찾아온 수많은 사람들과 함께 성공적으로 이루어졌다. Daniel Libeskind는 1946년 폴란드에서 출생하였으며, 1965년 미국인 으로 귀화했다. 이스라엘에서 음악공부를 하고,‘예술가는 건축을 못하지 만, 건축가는 예술을 할 수 있다’라는 어머니의 말씀에 따라 건축을 시 작하여, 1970년에 뉴욕의 쿠퍼 유니온에서 건축학사 학위를 획득했다. 1972년에는 엑세스 대학교 대학원에서 건축이론 및 건축역사 전공과정을 수료했다. 베를린 유대인 박 물관(1989)으로 세계적 주목을 받았으며, 2003년에는‘zero ground’디자인의 최종 설계자로 선정되어 다시 세계적인 화제가 되었다. 그는‘건축물이라는 것이 겉보기엔 그저 딱딱한 무생물 같지만 올바르게 설계되었을 경우 이 세상을 밝히고 더 나아가 상처를 치유할 수 있는 힘을 발휘하기도 한다. 그렇게 믿 으면 된다’라고 하면서 건축으로 정신적 치유를 할 수 있다는 철학과 함께 역사성, 이야기, 이미지, 경험 을 모아 보이지 않는 자취와 장소의 기원으로부터 건축디자인을 도출하며 희망을 주는 건축을 추구한다. 대표작으로 런던의 Victoria & Albert Museum의 증축(1996), Felix Nussbaum Haus Museum(1998), 영국 맨체스터의 North Imperial War Museum(2002), 샌프란시스코의 Jewish Museum(2008), 더블 린의 Grand Canal Square City, 라스베거스의 MIRAGE’s City Center, 밀라노의 Fiera Milano Fairgrounds Museum(2015) 등이 있다. 우리나라에서는 삼성동 현대산업개발 사옥의 파사드, 용산국제 상업지구 마스터플랜, 해운대 아이파크 타워 등이 있다. 현재는 독일 Luneburg에 위치한 Leuphana University의 초빙교수, 또한 펜실베니아대학의 Paul Cret 센터 초빙교수, 예일대학의 Louise Kahn과 Davenport 센터 초빙교수, 토론토대학의 Frank Gehry 센터 초빙교수, 이 외에도 런던대학, 휴스턴대 학, 일리노이 공대, 그라쯔의 공대, 취리히의 스위스연방공대, 그리고 조지아공대에서도 초빙교수로 활 동하고 있으며, 북미, 유럽, 일본, 호주, 남미 대학들에서도 많은 강의를 하였다. UCLA 전임교수를 역임 하기도 했다. 저서로“Counterpoint: Daniel Liebeskind in Coversation with Paul Goldberger(2008)” 가 있다. 2012년에 미국 건축가협회(AIA)로부터 AIA 미국 공훈장(AIA National Service Medal)을 받 았다.

삼육대 건축학과 졸업작품 전시회 2014 SAHMYOOK University Department of Architecture Graduation Exhibition 서울 삼육대학교 건축학과 13회 졸업전시회가 삼육대학교 미래관 박물관 5층 특별 전시실에서 개최되었다. 졸업생 33명이‘인권 건축’이란 낯선 주제로 열띤 토론과 실험 의 성과물이 2014년 11월 13일부터 11월 19일까지 전시 일정 을 가졌다. 주제를 정하여 학생들의 도전을 유도한 삼육대학교 졸업전시는 내후년에도‘깊이 있는 건축전시’를 보여줄 것으로 전망해본다. 글 / 정문호

린다 매카트니 사진전 - 생애 가장 따뜻한 날들의 기록 Linda McCartney Retrospective 롤링 스톤즈에서 비틀즈까지 시대를 이끈 최고의 여성 사진작가 대림미술관은 오는 2014년 11월 6일부터 2015년 4월 26일까지 20세기 최고의 여성 사 진작가, 린다 매카트니의 사진전(Linda McCartney Retrospective)을 국내 최초로 개최한 다. 오랜 시간 대중문화를 이끌어 온 잡지‘Rolling Stone(롤링 스톤)’의 커버에 사진을 장 식한 최초의 여성 사진작가 린다 매카트니는 도어즈(The Doors)에서 비틀즈(The Beatles)에 이르기까지 음악계 최고의 아이콘들의 진정성 있는 모습들을 포착한 사진작가로 인정받아왔다. 그녀는 사진 작업뿐만 아니라 영화와 음악 작업 등 다양한 예술 분야에서 활동했고, 출판과 방송을 통해 채식주의와 동물권리 보호 등 사회적인 메시지를 전달하 며 시대의 새로운 여성상으로 주목받았다. 비틀즈의 멤버이자 남편이었던 폴 매카트니 (Paul McCartney) 그리고 그녀의 딸인 메리 매카트니(Mary McCartney)와 스텔라 매카트 니(Stella McCartney)가 전시 기획에 참여하여 의미를 더하는 이번 한국 전시 <린다 매카 트니 사진전 - 생애 가장 따뜻한 날들의 기록>에서 관람객들은 화려한 삶 속에서도 평범 한 일상의 순간순간을 소중하게 여겨왔던 린다의 진심 어린 기록들을 만나게 될 것이다. 이번 전시에서는 린다의 대표작인 세기의 뮤지션과 아티스트들의 모습을 담아낸 ‘Chronicler of the Sixties’(1960년대 연대기)와 매카트니 가족의 삶의 기록을 담아낸 ‘Family Life’(가족의 일상)이 공개된다. 또한, 워커 에반스(Walker Evans)와 같은 미국 의 스트리트 포토그래피(Street photography)에서 영향을 받은‘Social Commentary’( 사회에 대한 시선) 그리고 그녀와 특 별한 친분을 유지했던 아티스트들이 바라본 그녀 의 모습을 담은‘Portrait of Linda’(린다의 초상화) 등 200여 점의 사진 작품이 한자리 에서 소개된다. 더불어, 린다와 사진 작업을 함께 해온 아티스트들이 전하는 비하인드 스토리와 그녀가 참여했던 레코드, 인터뷰 그리고 다양한 사진 실험 기법 등 기존에 쉽 게 접할 수 없었던 콘텐츠가 함께 전시된다. 전시기간 2014. 11. 06(목) ~ 2015. 04. 26(일) 장소 대림미술관 문의 www.daelimmuseum.org

2014독도 게스트하우스 국제 공모전 대상, 최우수상 가천대학교 건축학과 수상 2014 Dokdo Guesthouse International Design Competition 2014 독도 게스트하우스 국제 공모전은 자연환경 및 생태환경을 보존하고 훼손치 않 으며 생태환경과 함께 지속가능한 건축을 위한 공간컨셉을 찾고자 한다. 생태계 사이클과 인간의 라이프스타일, 행동방식, 사고방식 등에 대한 탐색을 통해 친 환경적 지속가능한 건축이 가져야할 덕목을 유추하며, 이를 통해 건축이 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것이다. 제로에너지 지능형 그린홈 및 Ubiquitous Technology의 접목을 통한 주거건축 계획은 궁극적으로 생태중심 환경의 구축을 지향한다. 이를 위해 건축 공간과 기술은 상호보완적인 관계를 유지하여야 하며, 인간과 자연환 경의 쾌적함을 향상시키도록 구축되어야 한다.

가천대학교 건축대학 건축학과 3학년 김태훈(Make A New Contour with 6 Factors )

태훈 학생을 비롯해 최우수상 1명, 우수상 19명, 입선 3명 등 전체입상자 66명 중 총

가천대학교 이길여 총장은 11월 5일에 독도 국제공모전에서 최고의 성과를 거둔 2 명의 학우에게“자랑스러운 가천인상”을 수여하였다.

이번 공모전에는 대상 1명, 최우수상 2명 등이 선정됐는데, 가천대학교에서 대상, 김

Make A New Contour with 6 Factors 독도의 형성 과정과 유사하게 모듈화된 큐브를 인공적으로 흩뜨리는 작업을 실시했다. 물론 형태는 자연적으로 생성되었다. 여러 종의 결과가 나타났는데, 이는 어떻게 흩뜨려졌는지, 어느 정도의 강도가 있었는지, 어디서 흩뜨려졌는 지에 대해서 영향을 받았다. 어떤 것은 덩어리지고 어떤 것은 그렇지 않았다. 그중에서 대회 규정에 적합하고, 가장 자연적이고 안정적인 매스를 선택하여 진행하였다. 자연적인 형태의 매스는 다양한 형태의 평면을 가지게 되었으며, 김태훈 Kim Taehun

아라 귈레르 사진전 Ara Güler_The Eye of Istanbul 1928년 터키에서 태어난 아라 귈레르Ara Güler는 세계 최고의 사진가다. 전 세계의 모습을 기록했지만 아라 귈

국내에는 최초로 선보이는 아라 귈레르의 작업은 1950

Its aim is to bring attention to surrounding nature, to tell about daily unnoticed and invite to be careful. Nature Concert Hall 2014 took place in Gauja National park, near Sigulda, Latvia and its main character was armoured fish - Asterolepis Ornate.

In order to attract more people to the downtown area of Louisville, we conceptualizing the Children's Museum not only as a museum, but also as a series of Urban Spaces that creates a "Cultural Campus". These open spaces are created by the massing of each site, in order to enforce a continuous link between the Hi-Tech start-up incubator, Public Library, and Children's Museum.

The complex of buildings is placed in Wuhan, a financial, commercial, logistic, and cultural center in Central China. In 2015, China's highest-level garden event, the 10th China International Garden Expo, will be held in the city. competition entry developed by our studio proposes a succinct shape of a simple cube which is seated on one of its vertices and aims at inducing a feeling of lightness and randomness in the observer.

ALL YOU NEED IS is a project made for "Young Architects In Modern Development" competition, held during the international investment forum PROESTATE 2014. The main task of the competition was to create a concept design of a courtyard in a modern dwelling complex, adapting it for different groups of people. The most important creteria was for different zones to naturally coexist with each other.

The main purpose of the building is to showcase the products of Tony's Farm by introducing a more natural way of living to city dwellers, who may often have an obscured understanding of the origins of their food products.

We won the competition of Komatsu city, Ishikawa to design a complex of science museum and communication center, which was constructed at the former factory site of leading company of construction and mining equipment, Komatsu Ltd. Komatsu city has always developed as an industrial base focusing on manufacturing.

이 건물의 주 목적은 자신들이 먹는 식제품들이 어디에서 오는지를 잘 모르는 도시 주민 들에게 더 자연스러운 생활 방식을 소개하는 방식으로 토니 농장에서 생산된 제품을 알리 는데 있다.

The one of main objects of this project is to bring out an architectural image of the Korea Gas Corporation which is the main government agency relocating to the Daegu Innovation City. Atelier TT is a research-driven design studio for architecture, master planning and interior design with an aim to rethink and create innovative, exciting solutions within the built environment. The studio was co-founded in 2008 by Jan Steven Tjandra and Lisa Teo and has since evolved into a practice with offices in both Jakarta and Singapore. The story behind the formation of the studio was initiated by the idea that architecture and design is collaborative by its innate nature and the advent of present technology allows the idea of collaborative work to be pushed one step further where borders between regions are seen as less of a limiting factor. The principals are both trained in the United States prior to meeting each other in an architectural firm in Singapore. Steven, an Indonesian, and Lisa, a Singaporean, has since then adopted this model and set up dual offices in their respective home country to tackle projects within South East Asia and its adjoining regions. This puts them in a slightly unique position among their peers and in line with the upcoming ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Architectural Services, which will take into effect in 2016. The studio's design philosophy is guided upon three primary parameters: context, research and transformation. We believe each project is unique, and that good design is produced from the careful study and research of the particular characteristics and typologies of each project, fused with detailed technical knowledge and artistic judgment. At Atelier TT, we see design limitations as opportunities to experiment with new and exciting ideas. We strive to bring innovative and fresh solutions to our projects increasing their value and reimagining them in relevant and innovative ways. MARANHÃO State Government Center Designing a building is always the result of a reflection upon the identity of a city by means of the relations established between architecture, landscape and the community. Ningbo Urban Planning Exhibition Center In the new Center, the lines between citizens and decision-makers are blurred; visitors are given rare access to the inner-workings of their city. Atelier TT_Jan Steven Tjandra∙Lisa Teo Atelier TT is a research-driven design studio for architecture, master planning and interior design with an aim to rethink and create innovative, exciting solutions within the built environment. The studio was co-founded in 2008 by Jan Steven Tjandra and Lisa Teo and has since evolved into a practice with offices in both Jakarta and Singapore.
