Before leading SPI Energy, he founded LDK Solar (LDK) in 2005 and acted as Chairman and CEO. LDK specializes in manufacturing multicrystalline solar wafers and provides wafering services for monocrystalline and multicrystalline wafers. He established Suzhou Liouxin Industrial, Ltd. in 1997 and was CEO until 2006. Suzhou Liouxin was a prominent personal protective equipment manufacturer in Asia, employing over 12,000 people.
