01. Pastel Paintings Pastel paintings refer to completed works in which the entire surface area is covered in pastel.
Hometown This is my original painting. My inspiration came from a photo taken by me when I travelled to my grandmother's hometown in the countryside.
River Clean water reflects surroundings.
The scene of the site was not as beautiful as it is in the painting. The river was dirty, and the sky was not so blue because of the pollutant discharged from factories. I drew it into a vibrant scene because I hope everyone can do something to protect our environment.
Sky Clean sky looks so colorful.
Flowers Vibrant flowers blossom near the river.
Tough Maple Tree This is a copy work from a picture given by my teacher. The painting illustrates a tough maple tree displaying its beautiful color in the winter.
Ecological Wetland This is another copy work from an picture download from the internet. It discribes an ecological wetland that was dominated mainly by the cedar trees. Also, there are lots of aquatic plants near the water, aquatic species living in the water.

Wheat Field Yellow Represents Harvest It is a copy work from a picture given by my teacher which discribes a scene of harvest in countryside. The foreground is unknown wild flowers. The middle shot is a piece of ripe wheat. The background is a big tree. These elements combined together display an attractive scene in the countryside in southern China.
02. Ink Wash Paintings Ink wash painting uses tonality and shading achieved by varying the ink density, both by different grinding of the ink stick in water and by varying the ink load and pressure within a single brushstroke.

Ink Wash This is an old man drawn by ink. The hair was drawn in a rough technique and the face was painted by a wet pen. When using a wet brush, it was very important to make a balance between the ink concentration. For example, the bright part should use lower concertation and the dark part should draw in an opposite way.
Spring of Traditional Jiangnan This painting vividly displays the sence of regions south of the Yangtze River. The buildings are featured in white facade and black roof. And there are lots of rivers, bridges, and flowers in spring in Jiangnan. The technique of chinese painting is unique because it breaks the laws of scientific linear perspective. The painting will bring the distant landscape to foreground and give them more detials. As a result, the scene will be more richer and have the feeling of changing space.
Mountains and Waters Walk In The Mountain The work "Shan Xing" is an ink wash painting that was awarded the first prize in the fifth "Academy Cup" of National Youth Art Creation Competition in 2019. "Shang Xing" means walk in the mountain. This painting describes the appealing scene being seen when people walk in the mountain.
Malus Halliana
Trunk The trunk of Malus Halliana is unique for its artistic shape. Flower The flower is also set apart from others since it absorbs sulfur dioxide obviously.
Leaf The leaves could be used to make tea which helps digestion.
PLANT
PAINTINGS when drawing the plants’ paintings, our teacher brought some flowers and put them on the table. He told us to observe the flower first and let us describe this plant. In this way, we can find the good posture of the flower and control the composition of the painting better.

It is a very interesting way and I have never tried before. I think it is very useful.
03. Watercolor Paintings Watercolor painting is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a waterbased solution.
Cheongsam
Chen.x Xia.y This watercolor painting was completed by my teacher and me. It was created for an exhibition related to the traditional culture of Suzhou. The painting describes the fine life of women in Suzhou in 1980s. There are several features including the exquisite traditional dress named cheongsam, a folding fan in hand, and a perm.

I FOUND DRAWING CAN BRING ME ENORMOUS PASSION I really love drawing since it brings me enormous passion and happiness. When I feel tried after studying long time, My favorite thing is to create my cartoon figures. I can focus on drawing for several hours because I feel really happy when I immerse myself in drawing.
