Recently, South Korea experienced a world-renowned tragedy involving a stampede, prompting us to reflect on safety issues in urban public spaces. We selected three representative locations: Hongdae with a large crowd, Itaewon with complex terrain and numerous commercial streets, and a bridge connecting the city and spanning a river at the sports field. We will employ three corresponding approaches to achieve a safety-first urban design.

The design is based on the location in the historical old city area of Guangzhou. It attempts to utilize the small-scale streets and alleys to create diverse touring paths, drawing inspiration from the surrounding lanes to enhance the local character. Facing the Wen Tower and Lychee Bay, flexible curved designs are employed to define the boundaries, further revitalizing the Wen Tower and the watercourse. This allows people to experience the charm of wandering through streets and alleys within the museum, triggering a resonance with the history and culture of the Lingnan area.
