Publications
I have designed a range of publications, brochures, reports, and other documentation for clients including Deakin University, Juturna Infrastructure, and Kingfisher. These publications are integral to Australia’s key industries, including road, rail, port, and intermodal infrastructure projects, demanding precision and quality across all deliverables. Each project is meticulously managed within strict time frames and budgets.
4
Deakin University - Geelong Economic Futures.
A 64-page stylised report detailing a market and local communityled series of large-scale ($100m-$1b) investment structures aimed at developing the latent comparative advantages of the Geelong region.
5
Hastings Deering - BCP Equipment Catalogue
Designed and paginated a comprehensive 28-page equipment catalogue for the sales team, accompanied by pullout page leaflets highlighting specific offerings. The design process involved meticulous deep-etching of product images, icon creation, template development, precise type layout, and pagination.
6
Hastings Deering - Power, Performance, Profit, A5 Booklet
Designed collateral for the Power, Performance, Profit campaign, featuring a 24-page A5 booklet (seen here), an A2 poster, shipping container signage, billboards, and an A5 double-sided flyer. The design included meticulous deepetching of product images, template creation, precise type layout, and pagination.

This 48-page brief explores the failed takeover bid of Graincorp by ADM as a prism through which to examine this phenomenon. It examines significant road, rail, and port policy failures in depth and advocates adventurous national transport sector reform that would complement the general optimism of Australia’s grain growers.
8
Juturna - Good Instincts.
Juturna - Russia’s Economic Pivot To Asia: Australia’s Engagement.
Document advocating stronger Australia-Russia trade relations, produced for the Australia-Russia Business Council (ARBC) in collaboration with Juturna.

Product design
Designing saleable items has always been a passion of mine since a young age. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work on projects where I could focus on product design, and sometimes extend into packaging as well.
I’ve also founded several businesses including Thiink Snowboards, Wrapt Up, and MIM. Each venture involved sourcing products, coordinating with stakeholders, and handling design and printing processes.
Overall, I possess a deep understanding of the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to final completion, including effective online selling strategies.
10
MIM (motivation.inspiration. movement) - T-shirt design.
MIM (Motivation.Inspiration. Movement) is a Melbourne-based running group that gathers weekly for runs through the city. The logo draws inspiration from the vibrant artwork found throughout Melbourne.
Thiink Snowboards commissioned illustrative work for their new range, resulting in the design of three unique boards. Production of these boards continues today. The design process also included creating a new brand identity that reflects Thiink Snowboards’ vibrant and artistic ethos.
Fritz - Wine Labels.
“Meet Fritz - just a regular winemaking frankfurter.” Friends with Fritz sparked a plethora of fun and exciting ideas for wine labels. To cover all varietals, the client required nine unique labels. Each label featured Fritz in a different pose. Throughout the design process, several options were explored, with the “devilish frankfurter” ultimately chosen as the prevailing design.
This logo and jersey design were crafted for a client who wished to connect with his ancestral roots in the Black Forest of Germany. The design incorporates elements of the Wolven, paying homage to the mystical creatures featured in Grimm fairy tales.

Thiink Snowboards - MooseKnuckle.
Wolven Cyscling - Riding jersey.
Brands
Understanding the distinction between a brand and a logo was a significant revelation for me. Playing a pivotal role in building brands from inception is an enriching experience every time. Guiding a concept through the stages of name and tagline development, logo design, and beyond is something I find deeply fulfilling. Having the ability to create comprehensive solutions for clients, including logos, websites, and online marketing materials, allows me to shape stronger brand identities. Being a sole practitioner overseeing the entire process ensures coherence and effectiveness in delivering the client’s vision.
12
VIZOO VMS approached me to create a brand, website and other marketing material for their start-up. Marketing material included; business cards, branding, web design & development, presentation folders, and all console interface design.
13
Vizoo.
Acquire.
A new brand design for a Real Estate Agency, featuring the brand, tagline, logo, business cards, and a poster. Each element is crafted to reflect the agency’s values and appeal to its target audience.
14
Pod Food.
Pod Food has been a valued client for over 8 years. Throughout our partnership, I have had the privilege of creating a wide range of materials for them, including their website, marketing collateral, EDM campaigns, menus, function packages, and more. As their brand has evolved, I’ve been instrumental in translating their concepts into compelling visual solutions.
15
Logo design
Your first impression is crucial. The cornerstone of any brand is its logo - it serves as the company’s face. A poorly designed logo can significantly impact how potential clients and customers perceive a business.
Logo design has always been a passion of mine, starting from the age of 5 when I began creating my own typefaces. Over the years, my skills have evolved, yet I still value the art of crafting typefaces with meticulous attention to detail.
Transforming a verbal concept into a visual representation that conveys a wealth of information about a company or business is what visual communication is all about, and it’s a challenge I embrace wholeheartedly.

17
Advertisements
Creating design that resonates.
Advertising plays a pivotal role in design, where clients see their investment in action.
Understanding both form and function is crucial in advertising, regardless of scale.
Throughout my career, I’ve observed a shift: while clients once aimed to maximize content in ads for cost efficiency, today’s preference leans towards a less cluttered approach where simplicity speaks volumes.
Advertising has been a cornerstone of my design journey, starting as the lead advertising designer at a newspaper and evolving with the industry’s changing dynamics.

J.Lui To make sure the clamp will be strong enough to hold the rocket parts together stress analysis must be done. In the past, the analysis would be done by building number of clamps and then putting force on them until they broke. This, however, can all be done on computers now where it can be modelled in a CAD program such as CATIA and then analysed in a Finite Element (FE) analysis program such as Patran which can calculate if the clamp will fail or not. The joint project was overseen by Professor Lachlan Thompson from RMIT and Ian Bryce from ASRI. The second and third stage of the rocket will be held together by a metal clamp which will wrap around the entire rocket body (the red part in the inset). This clamp will be held together by bolts. When the two stages are ready to be separated the bolts will explode and release the clamp. The next step will involve S.I.D (separation-impulse device).
Web design
Designing with foresight before going live.
Planning and designing flat graphics or prototyping websites before launching live sites is essential for optimizing the design process.
Providing clients with a preview of how a website can elevate their business allows exploration of new avenues to engage users effectively. Overall, gaining approval through the prototype phase can prevent headaches later on in the project timeline.

Understanding code makes me a better front end designer.
I am self taught and with the emergence of a dominating online presence, it was inevitable to learn code. Learning HTML/CSS and understanding php and jquery has helped me produce, manage and maintain high quality and functional client manageable websites, that include eCommerce and CRMs. Xmarx - xmarx.com.au

Infographics
Bringing words to life. Once referred to simply as graphs and basic designs, infographics have evolved significantly. They are now complex visual tools found everywhere, aiding in the communication of words and intricate explanations. Similar to how a photograph conveys an emotive feeling or thought, infographics serve to visually depict information in a compelling manner.

Office signage
I believe art enhances the creative atmosphere of any office space. Throughout my career as a designer, I’ve created a variety of wall art and office signage. This includes projects like a 9-meter vinyl wall wrap, a 1.5-meter vinyl lettering typography quote, and fabric wraps for light boxes. Each design required meticulous mock-ups to ensure seamless installation, involving precise measurements.
My approach to creating artwork involves manipulating large images in Photoshop and incorporating vector artwork to achieve impactful and visually compelling designs.
Hand-created using over 15 typefaces. Quote attributed to Steve Jobs.

Illustration
While I don’t get to do enough of it, I love to draw. Alongside are a few of my favourite illustrations. Most are done for clients, some for events, but they are always fun.
To ensure all designs are scalable, I create my illustrations in vector format with no Photoshop effects. If I need a Photoshop effect, I strive to learn how to replicate it in Illustrator as a vector.
