Xavier talent shines in Galaxy It is time again for Xavier students to show off their talents. The Xavier Talent Show “Galaxy” will be held on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 11 at 4 p.m. in the Regis-LaSalle Theatre. The emcees for Galaxy this year are seniors Bryan Banowetz and Bill Young. “I wanted to be an emcee because I enjoy entertaining others, and I thought it would be a fun thing to do to end my senior year,” Young said. “I am excited about emceeing with Bryan and marking this year’s Galaxy as the best it has ever been.” Auditions to “show off your talent” for Galaxy were held on

Wednesday, April 24. Students who auditioned signed up for times to show off their talents to the judges and filled out information sheets about their talents. Galaxy is organized by Mrs. Shea Francis and Mrs. Jaclyn Hussey. Some of the talents that may be included are solo acts, group acts, singers, dancers, bands, instrumentalists, skits, comedy acts, poetry readings, or other interesting tricks. One of the students performing is sophomore Michaela Brown, who will play the guitar and sing “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane. This will be

her second year performing at Galaxy. Another performance is John Richardson and Connor Collins who will be rapping. In the past, Galaxy has had band performances by Helferstout with lead singer Gabe Brown, and Staff Infection featuring Xavier staff Busse Photo members with different musical “I am most excited about talents. Solo/Ensemble contest results

On Saturday, April 13 a group of Xavier musicians participated in the Solo/Ensemble Contest at Washington High School. The results were as follows, with Division I being superior, Division II being excellent, and Division III being good.
