D: (Dance Like No One’s Watching)
Don’t forget to DANCE - soak up and embrace all this dance has to offer. Get your pictures taken, dance with your friends, kick your shoes off and have a good time, compliment people on their beautiful and stunning attire, smile, and be positive to everyone you encounter.
R: (Remember the Little People)
Be thankful - try to stay positive and appreciate all the people involved in Homecoming; from the positive people at your school, to alumni returning to their “home”, to the chaperones and everyone who helped put this together, to your parents for caring about you to help you with this, and to your school community for making this an unforgettably fun time.
With Homecoming week fast approaching, school spirit is at an all time high. Use this page to mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare yourselves. Remember to be safe, smart, and drama free!

an be a magical night for everyone. However, sometimes DRAMA occurs, and it really le. I should know a thing or two about drama; my boyfriend, who told me he couldn’t go end to the dance. Needless to say, I was a little shocked and irate that he had stood me up d myself that not everyone can be trusted, but I still had an amazing night with my friend o here is some DRAMA (in a different way) to think about for Homecoming:

M: (Make Good Decisions)
Remember the night - I mean, actually remember it. Don’t let negative influences like drugs and alcohol take away from one of the most memorable and fun times of your high school career. You don’t want to put yourself and others in danger, so make good decisions because sometimes things happen that can negatively affect the rest of your life. Say “Yes” to the impossible - you may think I’m kidding, but don’t do what “everyone else is doing”. Sometimes it can be impossible when we’re faced with tough decisions, but know that when you make good decisions, only good things can come of them. When you make bad decisions, often times you get bad results.

It’s just a dance - there’s another one like it called Prom, with a few other dances sprinkled in. Don’t get carried away by the build-up of an exciting night, just embrace it and have fun. It’s also just one night - one night out of a hundred this year where you will get to spend time with the people who love you and the people whom you love.

Easy tricks to look your best in photos
Look to your right
According to a study done by Wake Forest University, the left side of the face is more attractive than the right, due to the fact that it shows more emotion.
Avoid light reflective makeup
Light reflected back to the camera will create a ghostly pale complexion. Finish with face powder instead to eliminate shine.
The Ice Cream Scoop
Worried about not knowing how to dance? Sophomore Nic Ekland teaches a simple, versatile move you can rock all night!
Avoid direct light
Harsh light can create shadows. Opt for softer light or shade if you’re outside.
For a full body shot
Turn your body three quarters of the way towards the camera, with one shoulder closer to the camera and one foot in front of the other. This will make your body appear slim.
Thursday October 4 Pink Day
Wear as much pink as possible in honor of breast cancer awareness. Remember... shoulders must be covered, girls must cover their legs, and if you don’t have pink pants, jeans are acceptable! Shirts must be appropriate (if there is any question, don’t wear it).
7:30 PM
Pep Rally King & Queen Coronation Bonfire
pennies to your class jar and sabotage other ons will go to finding a cure for breast cancer.
Set up like you are holding ice cream scoops in your hands with feet shoulder width apart. Use your shoulder to move your arms like you are scooping imaginary ice cream whilst moving your knees in circles.
Friday October 5 Xavier Jersey Day The homecoming t-shirts this year will resemble a football jersey, so if you buy one then wear it! If you have an old players’ jersey, a current players’ jersey, or a jersey from another sport, wear it! If you don’t have a Xavier jersey wear white. Jeans are acceptable.
