ANCYL: 73 years on… By Xpress Reporter
T
he African National Congress Youth League, KwaZulu-Natal celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the youth wing at Mandeni, KwaNgcedomhlophe Sports Ground on Saturday, 30 September 2017. The ANCYL was formed in 1944 by members of the ANC who wanted to mobilize young people to join the fight against the apartheid government of the yesteryears. Among the elite members of the
ANC who graced this event were, ANC KZN Chairperson Sihle Zikalala, ANCYL KZN Chairperson Kwazi Mshengu and ANC NEC member Fikile Mbalula. The latter commended the work done by former leaders of the ANCYL, most notably Nelson Mandela. “Nelson Mandela and them, led that particular struggle. Nelson Mandela went to become the commander in chief of Umkhonto Wesizwe, he went to become the head of campaigns of the ANC in
the ANC and they say yes. You must be weary as ANC members, ANCYL must fight against those who want to be stooges in the ANC. The ANC acknowledges that there
the defiance campaign and the treason trial. That was the youth league mission” said Mbalula before adding that the ANCYL has always played an integral role in the fight against emancipation. Mbalula went on to lament those who are 'sell outs' and called for party members to unite and fight for the organization. “Our comrades are in bed with the enemy, the enemy says give us Jacob Zuma and
are mistakes which were made, we did say in our January 8 statement that we are going to correct them.” Continued on page 4

Continued from page 1 As has been the norm in most ANC gatherings, members reiterate their support for whoever they want to see leading the party beyond the December elective conference. KwaZulu-Natal is a strong hold for presidential hopeful, Nkosazane-Dlamini Zuma and a host of speakers confirmed their support for the former AU chairperson as the next leader of the ANC. “The ANCYL must talk about who they want to be the next president of the ANC. If they want Nkosazane, it's their right, nobody should frighten them,” said Mbalula.

KDM empowers local entrepreneurs By Xpress Reporter
The KwaDukuza Municipality's Economic Development, Planning and Community Development Portfolio Committee (EDP) held a Meeting on Wednesday, 27 September 2017, to discuss reports as well as provide oversight on matters that require Council attention. KDM established the Groutville Market as a Local Economic Development project intended to provide a formal working space for local entrepreneurs to trade and also stimulate economic activities.
“The Groutville Market site is a prime and strategic business site, which will become critical in the process of establishing the Nokukhanya Luthuli Street Tourism Precinct. The Market is the only property on Nokukhanya Luthuli Street that the municipality can use to ensure local participation in the tourism sector. Council therefore agreed to support efforts to facelift the site, as the current state needs excessive renovations. Also discussed at the meeting was an information session hosted by the EDP unit where KwaDukuza
based SMMEs and members of the general community were empowered with information from SARS. “The theme for the workshop was Compliance and Proper Management of Tax Affairs with SARS. The following tax related issues were engaged: compliance with business related incentives, reduced tax incentives for small businesses from various business formations and acquiring tax clearance status and registration from SARS. The event also provided a platform for the completion and submission of Personal and Business Tax
Returns. The Workshop was held on Friday, 15 September 2017 at ILembe Auditorium. Further, recommendations were made for SARS to be invited again, before the end of 2017 tax season, to assist the SMMEs and individuals with tax returns.” KwaDukuza also hosted a successful Water Use License Application workshop on Thursday, 07 September 2017. The intention of the workshop was to empower those involved in municipal infrastructure programmes w i t h w a t e r u s e authorisations with the
necessary legal and information requirements, guidelines, tools, skills and knowledge on how to proceed with the application process so as to fast track the authorisation process. “The National Water Act consists of various factors such as, meeting the present and future basic human needs, promoting equitable access to water, promoting the efficient, sustainable and beneficial use of water in the public interest, facilitating social and economic development including reducing and preventing pollution and degradation of water resources.”

Mandeni Municipality Mayor, Councillor Sphesihle Zulu brought a sigh of relief to Magundaneni residents in ward 11 by introducing Mode Electrical and Electrotech Electrical as the electrification project contractor for the Magundaneni/Mambane area on Thursday, 28 September 2017. Mayor Zulu also
announced that the project duration is three months. “Last time we met at Mcatshangelwa High School where people of this area raised concerns about electricity. Secondly, we also met at Makhempini sports field where electricity was put on the forefront, but today I'm glad to say that the profiling has been completed
and it has come to our attention that there are some households that need the full project and those which need in-fills,” he said. He announced that a total of 344 households will be electrified and also clarified that Mode Electrical will deal with the full project, and Electrotech Electrical will be dealing with the in-fills.

He said that the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will be hired and the Project Steering Committee will be launched for the project to run smoothly.

Mother arrested for baby's murder By Xpress Reporter
Seeing that she was cornered by the police officer, she spilled the beans. She admitted that she strangled her son and put his body in a pit toilet after an argument with her boyfriend. She was then placed under arrest and the murder docket was opened at Maphumulo SAPS,” said Mbhele. The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa praised the detective member for making sure that the suspect is locked behind bars. “It is outrageous to hear that the mother is capable of killing her own child. We hope that justice will be served and get a harsher sentence,” he said.
A 21-year-old woman appeared in the Maphumulo Magistrates' Court for murder on 27 September 2017. According to Colonel Thembeka Mbhele (SAPS KZN Spokesperson), Nomfundo Thobekile Khanyile strangled her eleven month old baby boy and dumped his body in a pit toilet in Maphumulo on 25 September 2017. “She then told the elders in the family that the child is missing and the police were immediately contacted. A thorough investigation was conducted at the scene and it was established that something does not add up.
Fuel price hike

Diesel is up by 42 cents, while paraffin will cost 52 cents extra per litre. International fluctuations have been cited as the main factor for the price increases.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed globally every October. The aim of this campaign is to increase awareness of this disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, both in the developed and developing countries. The incidence of Breast Cancer among South African women is increasing. This campaign is also an opportunity to provide information and support to those who are affected by breast cancer and to remind women to be aware for early detection. Fortunately, if it is detected and treated early, there is an excellent chance of recovery and survival. It is therefore essential for every woman to conduct a Breast Self Examination (BSE) monthly,
from the age of 20 and have a routine screening mammogram (a special x-ray to detect abnormalities in the breast) annually, from the age 40 and earlier if you have any concerns or a family history of Breast Cancer. If you have any of the following symptoms, visit a health professional: · lumps (Many breast lumps are harmless, but they all must be checked) · unusual swellings · difference in size of breasts 189 Mahatma Gandhi Street, Stanger · puckering of the skin Tambuti · pain · discharge · sores

In the Xpress Times issue dated 27 September 2017 in the article 'KDM bolsters local economic development' we revealed that KwaDukuza Municipality has approved building plans for the KwaDukuza Mall and Mt Richmore Shopping Centre. Accompanying the approval of the building plans of these two much anticipated Malls are strict terms and conditions which “have been put to ensure that these developments are hand in glove with council's spatial requirements.” A statement from KDM cites that, “It must be clear that defaulting on the set of terms by developers shall mean a breach in the agreement”. The terms for both these new developments were approved in terms of Section 7 of the National Building Regulations. For the Richmore Shopping centre, council resolved the
following terms that the developer has to abide by. The building plans must not be issued to the developer prior to the receipt of payment of R1.3m owed in respect of the engineering and road infrastructure costs. Another condition cites that a refund to EM Engineering amounting to over R40 000 be processed upon receipt of the payment of the developers contribution of R1.3m as outlined in the said agreement. In relation to KwaDukuza Mall, the municipality stipulated terms which include roads construction, storm water systems and eco-friendly structures. “Access from the intersection of Mahatma Gandhi and Chief Albert Luthuli Streets, the on/off-ramps from and into the R74, must be upgraded and including the widening of the main bridge crossing over the R74 Highway” reads the statement.

KPMG-Gate adds to state capture mystique
An evaluation of customer loyalty: An exploration of Entertainment ETicketing service in Durban
The once lauded multi national auditing firm can never recover from the alleged Gupta R30 million Linkway Trading siphoning of taxpayers' money spent on a wedding. The denials, deceit and draconian manner which the plausibility and depth of state capture a la shadow state utterances go, is now gaining too much traction to ignore. The ferocity of the fictitious "rogue SARS unit" that KPMG doctored begs the question of whose idea was this to make a sinister and in your face allegation in which Minister Pravin Gordhan was also fingered as well? KPMG smashing their own integrity to smithereens in this way has been vindicated further by big finance corporates like Old Mutual and Standard Banks, to name a few; breaking ties
People are now buying different types of goods and services on the Internet. With the growing numbers and changing trends of buying behaviour, an increasing number of companies are also finding it attractive to join the bandwagon and offer the consumers online shopping facilities. The main aim of this study is to identify factors affecting customer loyalty on entertainment e-ticketing service particularly in Durban. This study investigated the elements of customer satisfaction toward customer loyalty. In addition, the study explores the relationship between each element of esecurity and e-loyalty and identifies the factors that contribute to e-customer loyalty toward e-services. A survey was carried out among entertainment event

attendees in Durban area. Online questionnaires were distributed randomly to 20 respondents. Durban was chosen as it has the highest number of events which usually garner a lot of support from locals as well as people coming in from other provinces. The study found that e-ticketing websites are not designed accordingly, payment methods are not well programed, errors in e-ticket sites is very high, and the issue of adaptation with regards ease of use and user-friendliness of the e-ticketing sites. The study revealed that security risks are high, the study evaluated that most customers do not trust the electronic purchasing of tickets for entertainment events due to security risks associated and explored that it is not safe or confidential to put account details for online payments whenever customers are electronically purchasing something, our findings on motivators and barriers of e-ticketing clearly indicates that convenience and ease of use serve as strong factors that motivate consumers to purchase tickets online. Security and privacy concern was found to be the biggest barriers of e-ticketing. In addition, e-ticketing service providers can also use the findings to improve the way information about the e-ticketing service is disseminated. Disseminating information through the right mode of communication for different consumer segments is likely to increase each segment's probability of adopting e-ticketing services. Diwali Celebration
Message from Ashwin Trikamjee President of South African Hindu Maha Sabha If there is one festival that is celebrated with jubilation in the Hindu world, it is Diwali. Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. To celebrate Diwali is to keep one's internal light constantly lit without flickering - that is to live a virtuous life. We are living in changing times, and now more than ever before and in keeping with the spirit of Diwali, each one of us is called upon to play our part in making this a better world for everyone. On behalf of the Officials and Members of the South African Hindu Maha Sabha, we extend best wishes to the Shakaskraal and Districts Diwali Committee on a successful Diwali Celebration.
Enterprise capacitates tourism role players
Message from Mr Kamal Maharaj - CEO Vishwashakti DEEPAVALI THE TIME TO ENLIGHTEN ONESELF It is of great significance that many cultures depict the divine as light. We may have often heard the phrase Tamaso ma Jyotir Gamaya (Lead us from darkness unto light). Light is the ultimate goal. It is from darkness that we all strive towards becoming the best we can . No matter the difficulty we go through, it eventually has a positive outcome. Through darkness comes light. It is on the darkness night (amavasya ) that the festival of lights is celebrated (Deepavali). Every human being experiences life with both pain and pleasure. Sometimes as a win and other times as a loss. In order to grow and attain our full potential , this journey of trials and tribulations is essential. Diwali symbolises this process. Even though the night sky is enveloped in darkness, the rows of little lamps provides hope and a pathway towards peace and happiness. Diwali like most Eastern festivals is regarded as having a comprehensive outlook to life. During the festival the following ideas are brought to the fore: self cleanness (both physically and mentally), sharing and caring with family and friends and the less fortunate, shringaar (dressing), religious observances, fun and entertainment. Thus Diwali brings out the full potential to experience life on a positive level. We pray that all are blessed with inner illumination. May all be blessed with good health, an abundance of prosperity peace and happiness. Namaste. PRO - CLLR V. GOVENDER Diwali is well known to be called the “Festival of Lights”. Its main significance is to symbolise light over darkness. This festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair. It is an event celebrated by our community, incorporating our Diwali festival. This festival is well known and all is well awaited by our community. Congratulations to the Diwali committee on reaching this milestone of holding this event for the 6th year. Thank you to KwaDukuza Municipality, our sponsors and the community for their support. Mrs Sharika Dhani - Chairperson Shakaskraal Diwali Committee The festival of lights plays a vital role in uniting people by bringing them together in celebration. Diwali marks the victory of divine forces of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and truth over untruth. Today, Diwali is celebrated with fireworks, good food, new clothes, clay lamps and assisting those that are less fortunate. Let us enhance our religion and culture by educating our Youth. On behalf of the Shakaskraal and Districts Diwali Committee, I wish all our brothers and sisters a Happy Diwali. “Our forefathers have sown the seeds of our hindu religion and culture into us. We owe it to our forefathers to keep the hindu religion and culture burning.” Diwali message from Chris Naidoo Chairperson of Tinley Manor Temple
Mr Krish Naidoo - Chairperson of Protea Heights Sri Siva Soobramanier Temple
On behalf of the Protea Heights Sri Siva Soobramanier Temple may the divine Lord shower his richest blessings upon all during this auspicious time of Diwali.
Diwali is a festival of distinctive significance, a festival of lights and a festival of happiness. It is time to celebrate with great grandeur and excitement. On behalf of the TMMST we wish each one of you a very happy and prosperous Deepavali. May this year brings you lots and lots of happiness in life and fulfill all your dreams. Rajesh Bakool - Chairperson of Shakaskraal Shree Emperumal Temple On behalf of the Shakaskraal Shree Emperumal Temple and the Temple Committee, I wish all Hindus a blessed Diwali. May the festival of lights light up and fill your life with the glow of happiness and the sparkle of joy. May Goddess Lakshmi shower Her divine blessings of love, happiness and prosperity upon you and your family in abundance. Happy Diwali!

Message - Devotees of Hari Harnath Temple, Shakaskraal Diwali is celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm. It is one of the most popular festivals in Hinduism. It signifies light over darkness, hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance. The lamps signify the Sun, the cosmic giver of energy and light. It is a time of sharing, especially with those less fortunate than us. Diwali brings us joy, health and wealth. May this lead us to peace, love and social harmony. Let us all celebrate Diwali responsibily, taking the welfare of our animals and environment into consideration. God bless South Africa.

AMAZING STORY PRINCE HAKIM Wiped away my tears ...
I heard about muthi in many people last month. Before my husband died my in laws turned against me. They wanted to take my house because I was not officially married to him but I heard two kids with him. I was worried about my kids because my business is not doing well, but when I read in newspaper. I saw a testimoney from a lady who stays in Stanger Manor. Saying a lot of things. Prince Hakim did to help with muthi and I called him. He told me to go the next day but using his muthi in only 2 days my in laws started to talk to me, visiting me now, we are friends with my in laws. Thank you Prince Hakim. DR MAMA HANNA 2017 THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE I am Carl from Ballito and I am here to testify about a miracle I encountered when I visited Mama Hanna to help me fix my financial problems and situation. I was almost left homeless as I had lost my home and car to fake traditional healers. On my visit she gave different options of helping me get rich and I chose one which I had to get money on my account everyday. I know it’s the same way you can be helped you have to see to believe. After 10 Years of divorce ‘‘He came back and knelt down for me’’ Our family had every thing and life was going on very well. My husbands family hated me to suffer with 6 kids & I was directed to Mama Hanna by a friend who she had helped with a promotion at work. She read my Fortune. She told me all my problems without me mentioning them. She cleansed me from bad luck and gave me medicine and she fixed all my financial problems. My husband came back and got remarried again. Try Mama Hanna she does solve many problems. Call or Whatsapp :

MAMA ALISHA THE GREAT HEALER
MAMA ALISHA MY HERO OF A LIFE TIME I am Shanita, Mother of 3 and A professional nurse and I am here to thank Mama Alisha for healing me from a disease that kept me in a bed for 6 years. It started like a simple stomach ache one day at work. I never minded, took panados but the next day I could not get up as the pain was severe so my husband called an ambulance, but at the hospital I was shocked as doctor’s could not see the problem, they gave me pain blocks which never worked. Things went from good to worse when my legs started swelling and they were heavy if I lifted them. I had been in and out of hospital as well as seeing sangomas but still no change until I met Mama Alisha who treated me for only 3 weeks and I was fine. I thank Mama Alisha for every thing and would like to tell her that even the financial problem was fixed as she said because I’m back at work and all is well. Just call or whatsapp her on
WITH 18 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE CAN HELP IN PROBLEMS LIKE : FINANCIAL, FAMILY, RELATIONSHIP, BUSINESSES THAT ARE COLLAPSING, WORK DIFFICULTIES Thanks Mama Alisha... Says Glen from Chatsworth with happiness. I almost left with nothing after I tried a lot of ways to put myself on the right track again. The banks repossessed my trucks and property. I lost everything I possessed due to gambling with no success. I sometimes thought that I should give up in life but one day God opened my way through MAMA ALISHA. As I inform the public my life has changed completely. My family is very proud of me again. Thank you MAMA ALISHA for the best service you gave us. I regard her as God sent.

Learners with educators from Amatikulu Primary School
The 2017 fun run organised by the Amatikulu Primary School was a resounding success where a whopping R46 000 was raised for the school's premier fundraiser. The carnival atmosphere that prevailed attracted many parents, sponsors and wellwishers who assembled at the Amatikulu Recreation Grounds to participate in this annual event. Over 120 prizes were handed out to learners who made commendable efforts in bringing in large sums of money to the school. After enjoying a scenic run through the suburbs of Amatikulu, learners assembled for the much awaited prize giving ceremony. Grade 7 learner, Siphelele Mthiyane scooped the first prize of a single sofa (sponsored by Mr Express of KwaDukuza) for raising the highest amount of R832 with Grade 4 learner, Thandolwethu Gumbi coming in second for his collection of R686,20 winning a single sofa courtesy of Mario the Magician of Johannesburg. The third prize went to Grade 5 learner Sbongakonke Ngcobo (R638) who won a mini-stove sponsored by Ashish Raymond from the United Kingdom. Amahle Dube and Asamkele Zulu took 4th and 5th place for bringing in R565 and R513,40 respectively. Chairman of the SGB, Mandla Khanyile was delighted with the
response from the community and praised parents, teachers and sponsors for their sterling efforts. “Our school is where it is today because of the teamwork that prevails among all stakeholders. The principal staff, members of the SGB, parents and learners must be complimented for a job well done. My thanks and appreciation also goes to all sponsors for their generous contributions,” said Khanyile. Amatikulu Primary School principal, Dr. G.D. Singh was ecstatic with the result of the fundraising effort, heaping praise on all parents for their hard work in raising such a fantastic sum. Said Singh: “Our parents must be applauded for walking the extra mile in raising substantial amounts of money for their children and contributing to this commendable effort. Raising R46 000 in one event in a rural school such as ours is a tremendous achievement and attests to the determination of all stakeholders in providing quality education for our children. My special thanks go to all sponsors who support the school selflessly year in and year out and to my teachers who work tirelessly to ensure that every event is managed meticulously. The funds raised will be used to secure resources so that quality education is maintained at the school.”

Morningside breeze past Oceanville
Morningside victorious
The youthful Morningside comprising of just four senior players took on Oceanville in the iLembe District 50 over league game played at the Gledhow
Cricket Ground this past Sunday. The game was reduced to 40 overs due to the moist grounds after persistent rain the previous day.
Morningside skipper, Suveer Dewlall elected to bat after winning the toss. He opened the batting with the experience Dillon Rautenbach and together put on a score of 20 before being run out for 3. Rautenbach was then joined by Gerard Nagiah. Despite losing partners at a regular interval, Rautenbach continued in his merry ways scoring boundaries and outstanding sixes. A middle order collapse saw the experienced Preshen Rampersadh joining Rautenbach at 87/5. They together took the score to 138/5 before Rautenbach was caught of the bowling of S Meshack for an impressive 77 that included 5 massive sixes and 4 boundaries. Rampersadh continued with a well-played 36. The tail did not wag for Morningside as just 23 runs were added to the total with Morningside posting just 161 in their allotted overs. The stand out
bowlers for Oceanville were Meshack who claimed 3 wickets for 29 runs, K Pillay 2/15 and P Dhaver 2/28. Needing just 4.05 runs to the over, Oceanville were confident of victory but things did not play out their way. A Desai was cleaned bowled by Rautenbach by a pearler with the score just on 8. His partner C Zavala was drying up deliveries at the other end leading players around him into pressure shots jus loosing wickets at regular intervals. He falling victim to Sheldon Maduray scoring just 4. With the run rate creeping up to 7 runs an over, things did not look well. They were bowled out for 115 with only S. Meshack, K. Basdeo and R Ramsing getting into double figures. Destroyers of the day were P Rampersadh (3/24), D Rautenbach 2/18 and S Maduray 2/23. Rautenbach was named manof-the-match.
Dawnheights off to perfect start Openers AB(Xolani), and Lucky gave Dawnheights Cricket Club a 48 run opening stand after skipper Avishkar won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. AB and Lucky looked in little trouble in the opening stanza playing some powerful and at times exquisite drives in putting the Simplex bowlers on the back foot. After Lucky was trapped in front, youngster Wassim joined fellow debutant at the crease and continued to keep the bowlers at bay till Wassim departed playing back to the spin. Raj also making his debut came in and immediately looked the part playing with confidence. AB was finally dismissed 6 short of his half century bringing to
an end to an impressive debut. While at the other end, Raj continued to bat at his pace passing his half century in the 46th over. Raj found ample support in the form of Comfort Shange (22) and constructed partnerships with his fellow batsmen. After he passed his 50 he powered on helping DCC reach 225/5 after 50 overs, in which Raj took his personal account to 77 not out. He participated in partnerships of 25, 12, 51 (with Comfort) and an unbeaten 45 with skipper Avishkar. In Simplex's reply, they got off to the worst possible start losing their opener in the 1st over. Winston Naidoo then joined opener Mohammed Ismail and the two made the DCC opening bowlers pay

capitalising on some wayward bowling. During drinks, Winston retired hurt and Mohammed holed out in the deep to Levan Moodley, caught comfortably by youngster Wassim. With the departure of Winston on 41, the momentum slowly swung in the direction of DCC, with tight bowling by Raj Verma and Akshaye. Akshaye
slowly turned the tide by ending with 3 sticks. Wickets fell at regular intervals. Comfort Shange 2, Levan and Avishkar contributed to the downfall of the simplex batsmen. The last wicket fell via a run out thereby giving DCC a 73run victory and a perfect start to their season. Raj was named man-of-the match for his unbeaten 77.
