Her arrest is related to almost R200-million tender for police emergency warning equipment. IPID launches toll free number to report police misconduct On Monday the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has launched a toll free number which the public can use to report police misconduct. IPID executive director Jennifer Ntlatseng launched this feature. She said while majority of the officers within saps were hardworking, dedicated and honest, some did disgrace the organisation by their actions. With the free hot-line number the community can now have more access to justice and recourse Ntlatseng urged people to use the number wisely and responsibly, “Now communities can report officers who sleep on duty, who turn away crimes of gender-based and domestic violence at police stations, those who abuse state resources and state vehicles, those who harass or intimidate citizens, those who aid in the sale of drugs and protect drug dealers and those who are corrupt," said Ntlatseng. The toll free number to call is 0800111969

KwaDukuza offices searched by SIU On Friday afternoon Members of the Special Investigation Unit searched KwaDukuza Municipality offices, reportedly seized documents relating to Covid-19 personal protection equipment (PPE) contracts. This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered special investigating unit to probe misuse of Covid-19 funds in municipalities and government departments. KwaDukuza Municipality Communications Officer Sipho Mkhize confirmed that members of the SUI came to their offices, “Our offices were not raided, however, we can confirm that members of the SIU like those of the AG's office came to our municipality to solicit information relating to procurement of PPE. There

is nothing untoward with this, as it is an exercise currently taking place throughout the country,” said Sipho Mkhize Speaking on their ongoing investigations, spokesperson for the SUI, Kaizer Kganyago said while it is not possible to discuss details of the cases under investigation pertaining to COVID19 corruption, they are progressing well, “he said the President is the custodian of that report and he has made the decision that he will release that at a specific time. We have indicated to him that we are progressing very well. The one that we have agreed on is the fact that in cases where we have outcomes, we are going to go ahead and deal with those outcomes,” Kaizer Kganyago

shut out an opponent in a set. The other time he did so was in the third set of the 2008 final against Roger Federer. Nadal's first-set performance was even more stunning since a 6-0 set has rarely happened in the 56 meetings between the Spaniard and Djokovic. The scoreless set out of Djokovic marked the first time he failed to win a game in a single set in a Grand Slam final. Nadal won 63 percent of the points on his first serve in the opening set. Djokovic managed to win just 27 percent. The second-seeded Spaniard also won 62 percent of his receiving points compared to 36 percent out of the top-seeded Serbian.

Even though Djokovic took two games in the second set, Nadal was still the dominant figure on Court PhilippeChatrier. Nadal hit 11 winners and only had four unforced errors in the second set, while Djokovic committed 17 unforced errors. The two-set dominance from Nadal was nothing short of stunning since Djokovic had not been beaten in a match that went into the second set all year. The No. 1 seed put up much more of a fight in the third set, as he took five games off Nadal, but he slipped up in the 11th game of the set and allowed the Spaniard to earn a crucial break. Nadal took advantage of that break by finishing off his 13th French Open victory with a perfect service game that ended on an ace.

The Editor and is always my liquid however, reserves the right not to publish a letter. refreshment when my son and I go deep sea fishing, I didn't know of the link between the two until we were awarded the contract to build the new bottling plant new Kranskop. During the last three and a half months building the Bottling plant I and my team have got to know the people of Kwasizabantu, we had just come out of a tight lockdown and building had taken a huge knock and when we arrived on the site the help and the welcoming we got was enormous. When the news came out last Saturday with a “teaser” clip of what is going on at the mission I was taken aback as to how someone can publish this nonsense and the hurt it has done to so many people who the mission has helped and continues to help. I have met chaps from all walks of life and who were rock bottom with nothing else to do than to end their lives, today they are clean from their bad ways and have a sparkle in their eyes and we talk for hours about where they come from and where they are now. It is astounding. I just wish News 24 had taken the time to chat to some of these people, spent some time in this peaceful place and the report would have been a lot different. Unfortunately good news doesn't sell and is boring , humans thrive on bad news as it is saucy , I was driving up to site this morning and I heard there was going to be a mass Jerusalem dance on north beach today , I phoned my friend to tell her to switch the TV on at 8;30 and watch E news, she said “oh is there a story about the mission” , I said “no it's a mass Jerusalem dance off” , she was disinterested and was not interested anymore. I always believe there are three sides to a story, your side my side and the truth. I ask myself KSB have been in a tight lockdown for the last 7 months and no one from News 24 have been to the mission to investigate so how can News 24 say after a 7 month investigation this is their findings. If News 24 understood the hurt they have caused to such humble folk they would be ashamed of themselves. I really hope the truth comes out soon in the meantime the people at the mission continue to do good work as believe it or not there is one man that knows the truth and no one can hide from him. Navratri observed by Hindus Significance The beginning of Spring and Autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. These two periods are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of the Divine Mother and is worshipped with fervor and devotion. Navratri is traditionally an auspicious and religious time for starting new ventures. Mother Durga rides the tiger, a symbol of power and strength. She guides us away from evil, the divine tiger she rides is ready to devour all our evil qualities, even as a surgeon may perform a painful operation to save our lives. The nine nights are dedicated to the three goddesses of Hinduism - Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Durga also known as Kali is

worshipped during the first three days, in order to destroy all our impurities. Devotees of Durga observe a fast and prayers are offered for the protection of health and prosperity. It is also a period of introspection and purification. Lakshmi is worshipped for the next three days as the goddess of peace and plenty of bliss. Fulfilment is more important than wealth itself. As the goddess of wealth, she governs not just the bank balance, but also basic things as family, friends, food and health. Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge. Not just the knowledge of how to earn a living, but how to "live" as well. She is the goddess of the spiritual knowledge and the knowledge that free us from material

bondage. She is worshipped during the final three days of the Navratri. “ Your enemies will slander your strength and speak many unseemly words to kill your spirit, use this as an opportunity to step upon and rise to the challenges.” - M .S Sing Prayer benefits… The nine nights are there to inculcate and imbibe in us, spiritual energy and power. During this period they help liberate us from the material bondage of this world. If you use these energies unwisely they will have negative consequences. The Reservoir Hills Conundrum Torching and stoning the vehicles of good, hard working people who always lend a hand when you are in need! When there are "house fires" and your informal settlements burn, who are the first to provide you all with free building material to rebuild your homes? Who are the people to provide you with soup kitchens? Who are the ones that rally around you when you are hungry to provide you all with food parcels during needy times especially during the last 7 months? Who are the people who see you as humans first, and not with any one-colour, monochromatic vision? Yes us Residents of Reservoir Hills. We are there for you before any municipal response, in fact we help you and simultaneously petition the local government to help you as well, and their positive response is not always forthcoming, unlike us residents who are always your first responders! You should feel ashamed of harming and biting the hand that feeds you. The Tazz which you torched is that of an older, innocent, God-fearing family man, his nose was broken by that brick hurled through the window of his car. The photo of his bloodied face will remain etched in the memory bank of his wife and children, indeed all of us. He had to be hospitalized yesterday. Must we say thank you to your band of hooligans for sparing his life and allowing him to "escape"? I know the Reservoir Hills CPF Chairperson, Pravin Gounder for years. He was my neighbour. He is a man who cannot raise his voice in anger, a man of principle and a man interested in the welfare of all, yet you torched his Mercedes? Why? Are you aware of the sacrifices and effort he has made in his lifetime to uplift himself, his family and his community? Nothing came easy to him, or anyone else of us who you all have directly impacted upon yesterday. Look again at your demands? Are they fair? You all know the answer to that question. On issues of service delivery and housing we stand by you one hundred percent. However, on the matter of illegal electricity connections, that is a matter for a government commission of enquiry - they have to get you all into a think-tank and come up with an acceptable pronouncement going forward. It is a bone of contention that requires calm thinking. To say that we are disappointed is an understatement. Yet we try to look for light and a path forward which is amicable. This is OUR way, it always has been! Disgusted Reservoir Hills Resident
