meeting was held on the same day where Circuit manager Mr. M. Ngubande, SADTU chairperson Mr. B Khuzwayo, members of the SGB and student representatives were all present. Since then, Ms. Ntuli has not returned to Stanger High School to pursue her duties and the matter has since been elevated to SADTU head office and the continued employment of Mr. Mushaurwa rests in the hands of the Department of Education.

Mathematics in grade 10-12. The educator arrived on the 9th of March 2017”. According to the statement, learners were unhappy about this new appointee as Mr. B

Vivian Reddy of Double Ring Trading, a company which was awarded the tender to oversee the construction of a multimillion rand King Shaka Mall and a civic precinct in KwaDukuza may have to wait for a while before turning the sod as the project has been halted by a court interdict from Durban High Court. The proposed Mall is set to be built on the Recreational Grounds and Country Club, KwaDukuza's heritage, which the municipality allegedly sold to Reddy for R9 million in 2015. The move to have the 30 hectare sporting area removed for the mall did not sit well with The Concerned Citizens Group, local businessman Cassim Moola and attorney Paul David who are the primary applicants opposing the project. Among their grievances, the CCG and company are lamenting the manner in which Reddy's firm was awarded the contract, citing that the tender process was not followed accordingly which resulted in the municipality accepting an 'Unsolicited bid' from Double Ring Trading. The court order restrains Reddy's company from taking occupation or possession of the property and commencing or
continuing with excavations or any form of construction on the property. According to the CCG, by building the mall, the municipality is deviating from the initial plan to redevelop KwaDukuza Golf course only and not the other parts of the complex which included a soccer field and a volleyball court to mention a few. In a lengthy court interdict which the Xpress Times has in its possession, it also appears that the CCG claims that KwaDukuza Municipality did not consult with its citizens as is required by the legislation thus leaving the public at large unaware of their intentions. Furthermore; the golf course area was previously earmarked for the construction of an SMME center where previously disadvantaged persons would convene and operate their businesses which is why there are haunting questions as to why there is a sudden change of plans from the municipality to allow the construction of a mall, because 'an SMME center was more likely to create e m p l o y m e n t a n d entrepreneurship than a mall which will be occupied by a select established businesses which already have their own

staff members'. In an article that appeared on MyNews24 in 2012, titled “How to fix South Africa's unemployment problem” the author stressed that only entrepreneurship could save South Africa from an unemployment influx. This was echoed in another article titled “South Africa's future lies in building entrepreneurship” where the author wrote, “Entrepreneurship creates employment. Entrepreneurs dare to dream but need others to bring their dreams to reality. The more individuals creating businesses, the more worthwhile jobs being simultaneously generated” Meanwhile, the ANC Youth League in the Greater KwaDukuza region has slammed the CCG and those in favour of it saying they are “attempting to hide their ulterior motives and masquerading as very concerned citizens of KwaDukuza, whilst in reality they are merely staging a last bid to circumvent the rather fast-impending business competition posed by the new development.” The matter will be argued in court on Monday, 20 March 2017. Let us build a nation of entrepreneurs, and not just employees.

Standoff at Umfolozi College
By Xpress Reporter
Umfolozi College, Mandeni Campus came to a standstill on Thursday, 09 March 2017 when students protested against campus management for failure to issue their results for December exams and insist that they write supplementary exams. Scores of students ditched their classes and took to the streets requesting answers from management and called for campus manager Mrs. Zakithi Mngomezulu to resign or be fired. The protesting learners had placards stating, “Mngomezulu Must Fall, All we want is Hadebe”. According to one of the students, the results issue is just a tip of the iceberg as there are other problems the institution is
facing such as studying materials and high number of failures. “It is not just about the results, the whole school is in ICU, there are a lot of problems and we have been quiet for too long” said the student who refused to be named. Another student commented by saying, “enough is enough we have been taken for a ride by this campus for far too long, How can we write supplementary exams without knowing whether we passed or not? What are we supplementing?” rhetorically asked the irate pupil. On the day of the strike, campus management had a meeting which lasted until about 4h30pm in the afternoon. Details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed, however it is “alleged” that it was

about mending the state of this campus which is believed to have been on a downward spiral for a while. Meanwhile the institution was contacted for a comment on this matter, however their phones rang without anyone picking up on the other end.

Bab' Ngema Hawker on King Shaka Street “I think they have to build it, the other one (uShaka Mall) is very far and it is taking the customers away from the town, this one will bring potential customers to us as well. I honestly think it is better if built here because its closer”

During April 2016, Umhlali SAPS held an Easter Egg Drive. Over 100 boxes of Easter eggs were collected. The Easter eggs were distributed to children in 12 under privileged schools in the Umhlali area. This year we are hoping to collect 300 boxes. Umhlali SAPS is requesting you to sponsor Easter eggs / chocolate bunnies in order to make this event a success and to put a smile on a child's face. We are aiming to give each child in twelve (12) under-privileged schools the eggs / bunnies for Easter. The Easter eggs can be dropped off at Umhlali SAPS by 2017-03-28 at 16:00, Station Commanders office. Distribution will be done on 2017-03-29. If need be, the station can also fetch Easter eggs. For more information on dropping off Easter eggs, kindly contact: W/O Vinny Pillay: 073 3100 103 (Co-ordinator) or Nicole: 032 947 9900 (Station Commander's Office, Room 4)

Stern warning against swimming in Tugela River By Xpress Reporter
Newark SAPS has issued a stern warning against swimming in the Tugela River following the drowning of 14-year old Zamani Ntuli from Doringkop on 05 March 2017. This was a second case of drowning at Doringkop area in a space of just three months. Doringkop is a small area just outside Mandeni, near Tugela River. Earlier in the year, a 13-year old boy drowned at an old quarry while swimming with his friends. In the recent incident, 15-year-old Zamani Ntuli was swept away by the Tugela River while swimming with his friends. According to Inspector Malusi Ngubane, Zamani was with his three friends when he drowned. “While the other boys dived in for a swim, he was the only one who remained outside. When the other boys came out, they realized that only his clothes were left and he wasn't there. When his friends looked into the water they saw him drowning and moving away from the river banks” said Ngubane. Ngubane also said the search for Zamani began shortly after the incident was reported on Sunday; however, units on duty are struggling to cope with water pressure as the Tugela River is a downward stream heading into the ocean. “The recent rains increased water levels and at some point we had to stop the search, because we spotted crocodiles in the river” further commented Ngubane. “We would also like to urge people to stay away from this river, especially now that we have had rains in the past few weeks” concluded Ngubane.
Call to help KwaDukuza's beauty queen jet off to USA By Xpress Reporter
KwaDukuza's very own model, Yolanda Mthiyane (10) is set to jet off to Florida, United States to represent South Africa in Miss Universe in July this year. Yolanda's dream of representing her country at the biggest event of her life may be shattered due to monetary difficulties, which has been a norm for all young people trying to pursue their dreams in our country. Speaking to Xpress Times, Yolanda's mother, Sarah Mthiyane stated that she has already received monetary support from other members of the public but it is a far cry from the R130 000 needed for her daughter to showcase her talent in the biggest of stages. “I would like to thank those who have contributed to my daughter's success and those who have donated in trying to help us send her to Florida. Your support is greatly appreciated,” said Sarah. She added that a lot of money still needs to be raised before Yolanda's dream could be a reality. The grade 5 pupil at Kloof Primary School has already scooped numerous accolades within our shores such as Miss Mzansi Africa, Miss Upper Highway and Miss Little KZN and is now eyeing Miss Little King & Queen World title. Apart from being on the stage modeling, the 10-year old beauty is also a regular volunteer at Sibusisiwe Orphanage where she
spends most of her time helping with the orphanage's daily deeds. As part of her journey to the USA, Yolanda has also been invited by Kim Mayer to Disneyland for an international talent show that will take place in July. Furthermore; Yolanda kicked off her illustrious career as a model for retail stores such as Fashion Fusion and Cutie & Cutties. Those who are willing to help Yolanda reach for the stars can contact her mother on 0738739423 o r v i a e m a i l sarahmthiyane@gmail.com

A qualified practitioner can literally see and feel your entire body, organs and all, through your feet. Each reflex zone has a connection with the part of the body, from the top of your head through to your big toe. The zones of the body in relation to the feet have been based on scientific knowledge and a vast amount of research has been done on the subject for many decades. Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of symptoms
associated with different types of cervical spondylosis. Spondylosis is a broad term that simply refers to some type of degeneration in the spine. Most often, the term spondylosis is used to describe osteoarthritis of the spine, but is also commonly used to describe any manner of spinal degeneration. • Spondylitis is inflammation of one or more vertebrae, such as in ankylosing spondylitis, an inflammatory form of arthritis of the spine. This is a very different process than spondylosis because spondylosis is degenerative while spondylitis is inflammatory. • Spinal stenosis is narrowing of the spinal canal. This narrowing of the spinal canal limits the amount of space for the spinal cord and nerves. Pressure on the spinal cord and nerves due to limited space can cause symptoms such as pain, numbness and tingling. AHPCOSA: NATIONAL: DIP. KwaDukuza causes biggest upset in Nedbank cup
Continued from page 20 defence throughout the match. The match ended 2-2 in normal time resulting in 30 minutes of extra time. Both teams had their chances, but KwaDukuza came close to scoring with a superb creative cross from Lungelo Zondi that met the diving header of man-of-match, Khulekhani Ndlela that narrowly missed the target. Ultimately, the game had to be decided by penalties. KwaDukuza scored quality penalties through Khulekhani Diga Ndlela, Buti Scara Gatebe, Sihle 'Nsimbi' Aphane and Thapelo 'Pule' Aphane. This resulted in the historic 4-3 victory on penalties for KwaDukuza with Eric Chipeta and Prince Nxumalo missing for the visitor's. Meanwhile the team made a surprise visit to Stanger High
School on Wednesday, 8 March 2017. They addressed learners at the assembly and also surprised learners by giving them 20

iLembe annihilate Umzinto at newly revamped Gledhow ground iLembe Cricket Club got back to winning ways when they thumped Umzinto by 124 runs at the newly revamped Gledhow Grounds this past Sunday. Umzinto skipper D. Govender won the toss and decided to bowl in the first match to be played at the newly revamped Gledhow Cricket Ground. iLembe openers S. Dlamini and A. Sarwar got off to a cautious start getting their eyes in on the newly laid pitch. They soon found their feet as they found boundaries with some good stroke play as they put on 45 before Dlamini was trapped lbw for 23 of the bowling of V. Slabbat in the 7th over. Sarwar was joined by captain A. Nadasen and together they put on a solid partnership of 66 taking the total to 111 in the 21st over before the dreaded nelson struck as Sarwar fell for well-played 63 (five 4's,three 6's) as he was unfortunately caught by B. Kinnear of A. Rajkumar. As the sun shone, the pitch flattened and the Umzinto attack began to tire. Nadasen 34, Z. Ali 18 fell to

Rajkumar and P. Pillay respectively but that brought I. Mahomed to the crease and together with youngster Alex Pillay they decided to toil, putting the highest partnership of the innings of 67 taking the total to 212 in the 46th over. Mahomed fought hard for a well compiled 42 (five 4's), BUT stumped by V. Singh of Slabbat. I. Sher joined Pillay in the 47th over and with strict instructions to go for it he hit a quick fire 24 (two 4's, one 6). Sher was run out of the 2nd last ball leaving Pillay unbeaten for a stubborn 28*. iLembe scored 242/6 after 50. A. Rajkumar 2/33 in 10 and Slabbat 2/59 after 10 overs stood out for Umzinto. In reply Umzinto openers also played cautiously. A. Pillay and V. Singh put on 38 before R. Mhlongo struck his first wicket for iLembe removing Pillay, thanks to a sharp catch from L. Jali in the slips for 27 in the 9th over. P. Pillay joined Singh and took the total to 48 in the 12th over before Singh was trapped lbw by I. Mahomed for 12. Slabbat

KwaDukuza causes biggest upset in Nedbank cup
Local soccer outfit, KwaDukuza United Football Club, astounded everyone when they ousted the PSL's Ajax Cape Town in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup and became the first KwaDukuza team to qualify for the last 16. KwaDukuza who ply their trade in the lower ABC Motsepe League, nicknamed 'The Black Jaguars' were considered minnows but pulled off the greatest victory of their lives, pulling off a 4-3 victory on penalties.
It was really a David versus Goliath situation. The game, scheduled to be played at the Recreation Grounds was moved to Durban due to the condition off our local fields. Not surprisingly, it took about 30 seconds for Ajax to get on the scoreboard through Neo Makau but KwaDukuza released the cat out of the bag in 10 minutes with some brilliant showcasing of super disk. The Jaguars levelled matters through Lungelo Zondi. The goalkeeper, Mandla
Tsengwa was in top form pulling off a couple of good saves against the big striker, Prince Nxumalo of Ajax. The KwaDukuza United confidence kept increasing and the supporters in their large numbers marvelled at the local outfit's display. In the 67th minute, Minute Nxumalo put Ajax ahead in a classy finish. However' the visitors joy was short-lived as Brown Khumalo clinically and skilfully placed the ball in the net in the 71st minute.
