A driver and two teacher aides from the Stanger Training Centre were left traumatised after the vehicle they were travelling in was allegedly petrol bombed in Doringkop on Wednesday, 10 February 2016. Stanger Training Centre Principal, Mr KP Hira alleges that the bus was in the area to pick up
learners that morning. Thankfully, there were no learners in the vehicle when the incident occurred. “The driver and two teacher aides were in the Doringkop area to pick up our learners for school when somebody from another vehicle threw a petrol bomb at them. “Although they were not
physically injured, they are badly traumatised,” said Hira. Hira also alleges that shots were fired at the same vehicle by unknown assailants a week before this incident. According to Colonel Nene of SAPS KwaDukuza, a case of attempted murder has been opened and investigations are underway.

State of the Nation 2016 By Xpress Reporter
The State of the Nation address from Parliament in Cape Town on Wednesday was anything but “business as usual” as South Africans watching on TV and listening on radio; on Wednesday, witnessed sheer verbal carnage within the first halfhour. The president, Jacob Zuma, was belittled by an EFF parliamentarian who was the first to use the “Zupta” phrase telling the statesman to sit after a “point of order.” Zuma may have taken a leaf out of the governance book of Tanzanian president
John Magufuli, who limited his administration's overseas flights shortly after taking office in November 2015 may have been among the f e w c o n c r e t e announcements, these are not new. Then called “cost containment measures”, or more colloquially the “haircut”, steps were already announced in December 2013. It's understood departments pushed back, particularly around the limitations on ministerial cars. In his October 2015 medium-term budget policy statement (MTBPS), then finance minister Nhlanhla Nene said: “We recognise
that there is not yet full compliance with these measures”. Some DA number crunching (expect more of this this week) showed just R2 billion of were saved in the 2014/15 financial year from the previous year's R25 billion spent on travel, entertainment, catering and use of consultants. “Land reform remains an important factor as we pursue transformation. I spoke about the fifty/fifty policy framework last year, which proposes relative rights for people who live and work on farms,” said Zuma.
Twenty seven proposals have been received from commercial farmers and four are being implemented in the Eastern Cape and the Free State. He also announced the Regulation of Land Holdings Bill which would place a ceiling on land ownership at a maximum of 12 000 hectares and would prohibit foreign nationals from owning land. They would be eligible for long t e r m leases. The draft
Bill will be presented to Cabinet in the first semester of the year. He also announced the reopening of land claims for people who had missed the 1998 deadline. The number of new land claims that have been lodged stood at close to one hundred and twenty thousand as of December last year. The sequel to President Jacob Zuma's State of the
Nation Address unfolds over two afternoons from Tuesday as MPs take to the National Assembly podium to debate last week's presidential remarks. With local government elections later this year, it's the perfect opportunity to electioneer from all sides of the House regardless of the cloak of parliamentary rules and protocol of this annual ritual in the national legislature.

A routine patrol by security guards at Gledhow Railway unveiled a very suspicious youth. Security officers noticed him at the platform at 04:30am. He had a bag in his possession which they enquired about. The bag had a pair of takkies, Vodafone tablet and a Blackberry 9720. On questioning him he became evasive and fought with the officers who beat him up before contacting the police. Sanele Khumalo (19) has been detained at Stanger Hospital and is expected before court this week. He faces charged of being in possession of suspected stolen property.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Taxi Task Team arrested three wanted suspects for taxi related murders in the province. A taxi owner Sizwe Khumalo (31) was fatally shot by the suspects at KwaMathonsi bus stop in Sithebe area near Mandeni on 27 March 2015. A case of murder was reported at Nyoni Police Station and the docket was transferred to the Provincial Taxi Task Team for further investigation. On 9 February 2016, members followed-up on information that led them to Nyoni area where they arrested two suspects both aged 32 years. One of the suspects was also wanted for
warrant of arrest that was issued against him after he failed to appear in court for possession of unlicensed firearm. The second suspect was arrested because his licensed firearm which was seized during the incident, was positively linked to the murder case. Both suspects appeared in the Eshowe Magistrate's Court yesterday, 10 February 2016 and they were remanded in custody until 17 February 2016. KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni highly praised the team for the wonderful job. “We believe that the suspects will be linked to the other taxi related murderers in the province,” she said.

THANKS MAMA ALISHA ITS REALLY HAPPENING NOW WITH YOU I am Carl from Ballito and am here to testify to my fellow South Africans about a miracle I encountered when I visited MAMA ALISHA to help me fix my financial situation. I was almost left me homeless as I had lost my home and car to fake traditional healers. On my visit she gave different ways of helping me and chose the magic wallet that brings 25000 everyday and paid her 70 000 every week from the money I made from the magic wallet. I told my cousin Petros about it and he too chose the rats that bring money in the house after which he got 40 000 and paid 9000. Mama Alisha. I know it's the same way you can be helped you have to see to believe so visit her or call her 0710223640
THIS 1 DAY SPECIAL PRAYER FIXED ALL MY MARRIAGE AND MY FINANCIAL PROBLEMS IN 1 DAY I am Trishni from Ballito, 6 years before I met this powerful spiritual healer, I was unhappy because my husband was cheating on me, our kids were always sickly and I had no
money, I tried everything from healers, priests and gurus but nothing seemed to work for me. I wasted a lot of money, luckily I saw two testimony; in the local papers by an old man whose draught had been saved from drugs and alcohol abuse and a divorced lady had re-united with her ex-husband after 9 years. I made a call to her and booked an appointment to meet her. I paid a R100 consultation and accurately read my fortune and told me all my problems before I spoke a word to her, she used a mirror to show face of people were trying to pull me down. She performed a 1 day special prayer to clean me from bad - luck and also gave me very powerful love crystals for indian and plus a special ring to fix my financial problems. Within 3 days of prayers. My husband confessed everything and asked for forgiveness. My kids are now healthy and I recently got a senior job promotion. Are you feeling totally helpless, heart broken and financially miserable? Is the situation getting worse? Don't loose hope! I have referred many people and she has delivered

The letter "Good Men are Scarce" by Nelson Puckree in a local publication has reference The Interim Committee of the KwaDukuza Ratepayers and Civic Association is well-aware of Mr Vivian Reddy's contributions and philanthropy in the various sectors in KwaZulu Natal and, therefore, has no qualms to his building a mall in KwaDukuza for the benefit of its residents. However, the Association strongly objects to the location of the mall at its present site as it will drastically affect the present centrallysituated sporting facilities which are of historical significance and cater for the needs of all sports persons and the local schools. In addition, the present infra-structure will not be able to cope with the volume of traffic that will emanate from the CBD to the mall precinct. The Municipality has ample alternate property at its disposal in and around KwaDukuza which could be utilised for the development of a mall and the relocation of the Municipal offices. As for Mr Reddy's credentials, he is first and foremost a developer who will go where the opportunity arises. He is not a "kind-hearted businessman" but rather a ruthless one who cares two hoots if the sportsmen and women have to be accommodated at venues out of town. A donation of a million rand here and a few million rands there will cause no dent to his bank balance if this "goodwill" can secure a contract for a R100 million. Nelson Puckree is a naïve, floor-crossing, political maverick carried away by Reddy's so-called benevolence that in his genuflection of him even goes to the extent of making such blasphemous statements as to desecrate the role of Mahatma Gandhi who obtained the freedom of India from the might of the British Empire, and who fought the cause of the down-trodden Indians in South Africa at the beginning of the twentieth century. His call for the re-naming of Mahatma Gandhi Street after Reddy and Gandhi's statue to be moved to the bird sanctuary is idiotic. Perhaps a read on Gandhi will enlighten Puckree on the iconic status of the Mahatma. Where will Reddy be in 20 years' time? He will be a hasbeen whose memory will be buried six feet under while Gandhi will continue to be a revered man in the same mould as the venerable Chief Albert Luthuli and Nelson Mandela. Mr Reddy's undertaking of providing alternate sporting venues must be taken with a pinch of salt. Grounds for cricket in Gledhow and soccer in Stanger Manor are already in existence. Has he made his offer in writing to build stadia, change rooms and ablution facilities at these venues? When was public consultation undertaken with the sports people of the town? Taking a few officials from the various codes to the July Handicap does not tantamount to "consultation". Finally, the creation of 3000 jobs on a sustainable basis is a fallacy. It is only at the initial stages of construction of the mall that a large number will be employed and definitely not in the 1000s. Thereafter, there will only be employment for plus-minus 500 at the most. It must be reiterated that the Association has no intention to sabotage any economic development in this town. It will welcome with open arms developers and entrepreneurs who will help provide the much-needed employment opportunities, especially for the youth of this region HR Mohammedy Chairperson of Interim Committee of the KwaDukuza Ratepayers and Civic Association
Should not attempt to rewrite history With our democracy and freedom of speech, we are all entitled to an opinion. So Mr Nelson Puckree is free to imagine, feel and express himself. However one must be aware of the fact that history cannot be erased, altered or rewritten. If Mr Puckree is of the view that Mr Reddy needs recognition for his contribution to society then Mr Puckree must initiate such processes. However Mr Puckree should not attempt to rewrite history by calling for the removal or relocation of the Mahatma Gandhi Statue. Sandeep Oudhram
KwaDukuza needs a satellite police station With the growth in population as well expanding residential areas, it is time for KwaDukuza to consider opening a satellite police station to help curb the increasing number of crimes taking place. The SAPS, being based on one end of KwaDukuza has to cover a large area of this growing town and it might just get more difficult to cope with considering the proposed major development planned for the town which will most certainly see an increase in population and housing. Some theories indicate that growth in infrastructure and population can lead to an increase in the number of crimes taking place. This basically means more targets and opportunities for criminals. The recent spate of break-ins taking place in residential areas such as High-Ridge, Oceanview, Shakaville and Stanger Manor have left residents living in fear. A recent attempted break-in at a house in one these areas took the KwaDukuza SAPS 45 minutes to send a patrol van out to survey the area. My suggestion is open a Satellite police station in one of these areas which can serve the people of these areas with quick response, constant patrols and decrease the level of crime in these areas. There are a few vacant plots available which can be used for a police station in one of these residential areas. The idea is to have a police station close by to allow the police swift response time which can save lives. The recent report by the Auditor General suggests that the municipality does have funds for such a venture. Safety is a right of all South Africans and it is also up to all of us to fight crime together with the police. Communities need to come together and assist the police wherever they can. AM Toorkiyah KwaDukuza
ACDP not impressed with Zuma's SONA The African Christian Democratic Party was not impressed by President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation Address 2016. We believe President Zuma, in the light of the upcoming local government elections, used SONA as a politicking campaign platform. Why else did the bulk of his address pertain to past projects at a time when South Africa is plunging into a national crisis? Was it not a shoddy attempt by the president to proveservice delivery so as to win credibility with the South Africa public? South Africans expected answers from SONA but received none. There was no innovative plan or strategy for the future to get South Africa out of the current mess it finds itself in. President Zuma did not address the excessive unemployment in South Africa. In this regard, the ACDP expected him to put a plan on the table to reverse the dwindling domestic and foreign investor confidence in South Africa. We felt that the president contradicts himself when he says he wants to make South Africa attractive to foreign investors. How are foreigners expected to benefit from South Africa when, in the same speech, he says that foreigners are not allowed to own any land? While the president mentioned the word “corruption” he
X
Press evaded elaboration on how government would tackle and deal with corruption in public office. At this point it would have been ideal and appropriate for the president to explain his decision to pay for the Nkandla upgrades. He could have explained why he initially denied that he benefitted and why the change of heart now. Who knows, perhaps such a gesture would have restored public trust in the president. Also, the president should have addressed the Fees Must Fall campaign going forward. The ACDP believes that President must take responsibility to resolve this national student crisis since government previously promisedto assist tertiary students financially and so reduce their fees. However nothing in this regard was mentioned in the SONA. Finally the president did not address sufficiently the drought in South Africa. The ACDP believes that given the extent of the crisis, government needs to declare a national disaster. While President Zuma mentioned that the drought had affected five provinces and that government was providing relief to affected communities, it did not address the urgency of the drought situation. He should have a declared a national disaster so that additional funds could be made available to the farmers that are struggling with the drought. Cllr Nel Sewraj ACDP Provincial Chairman
Why not give Black enterprises development projects On Friday, 22 January 2016, the ANC Greater KwaDukuza Region led a peaceful anti-racism march through Ballito. Present at the march were the “who's who” of the ANC. Then barely two weeks later, a group calling themselves the Concerned Citizens of KwaDukuza held a Pro Racism march through the streets of KwaDukuza. Not present at this march were the “who's fooling who” in KwaDukuza. I say this because the person (known to many) who hired the buses to bring these so-called protestors to KwaDukuza may have been hiding under his wife's skirt. This protest march defamed our Muslim brothers of KwaDukuza. I call upon all citizens of KwaDukuza to march against this racist group, the Concerned Citizens of KwaDukuza. I am a resident of Shakaville, so was my late father, who was born and brought up in this peace-loving town. In the apartheid era, we together with the Indians had to make do with the recreation grounds. I still have fond memories of soccer teams such as Rovers, City Lads, Darnall, Home Defenders, etc. My father played for Rovers FC and donned the kit sponsored by Ideal Butchery (Muslim business). The other Muslim owned businesses who sponsored team kits were Trendsetters, Selwels, Sucrose, etc. So why today we listen to a minority few with greed in their eyes and shun our Muslim brothers. I say if our Mayor and his team or even our government has decided to develop the country club and sports fields, so be it. Let us blacks march for the development to be given to a black empowerment group. Let us empower the previously disadvantaged. Was that not what the Ballito March all about? Empower us blacks

DR MAMA HANNA
After 10 years of divorce ‘‘HE CAME BACK’’ our family had everything and life was good. My husbands family hated me. He left me to suffer with 4 kids I was directed to MAMA HANNA by a friend who she had helped with a promotion at work. She read my fortune, & told me all my problems without mentioning them through her spiritual water. Cleansed me from bad luck and gave me powerful love crystals plus special ring to fix my financial problems. My husband MR NABIL came back and got remarried again. Try Mama Hanna she does solve many problems.

DR MAMA LATIFAH
Don't let poverty rob you of your dreams thanks to DR MAMA LATIFAH my suffering is gone!!! My name is Sharif living in Phoenix. I wish I knew Mama Latifah before and I would have never wasted a lot money on wrong doctors, sangomas and herbalists. It was hard to trust after losing everything including my business and my houses. Then I saw MAMA LATIFAH testimony and I decided to call her then she gave me different ways to get money and I chose magic wallet and my sister chose rats which helped her to pay all her debts so we are all living a happy life thanks to MAMA LATIFAH
THANKS MAMA LATIFAH FOR MY HUSBAND HE CAME BACK AND KNELT DOWN FOR ME & APOLOGISED. My name is Rahma am 35 years old living in Ballito. I was happily married with 2 kids but a problem came when my husband started drinking. He even got a new young lady who was 23 years old. The house became a mess as we started fighting everyday. He could beat me every time I could talk about his girl friend and the way he was drinking. Because of his beating me too much I went to the police, he then decided leaving home and he could only come back the days he wanted. I could cry alone in the house with my kids. I tried some doctors but they all didn’t work so I knew that the end of my life upto when a friend of mine came home and found me crying, I told her my problems she directed me to Mama Latifah who helped me bring back my husband. You can’t believe but my husband knelt for me asking for my forgiveness, right now no more drinking no more fighting in the house. We are a happy family again. Thanks to Mama Latifah

They went to take my house because I was not officially married to him but I had two kids with him. This week sees quotes from Father Trevor Huddlestone (19131998), a much-loved priest and respected anti-apartheid activist, earning him the nickname Makhalipile ("dauntless one"). He fought against the apartheid laws, which were increasingly systematised by the Nationalist government which was voted in by the white electorate in 1948 and in 1955 the ANC bestowed the rare Isitwalandwe award of honour on him at the famous Freedom Congress in Kliptown. - Wikipedia

KDAC notch up good times
Sunbrook through to semi Sunbrook, last season's league winners, became the only Division I team to secure a semifinal berth after securing a hard fought 2-1 victory over fellow Division I team Cool Leaders in the Top 8 clash hosted by K w a D u k u z a Vo l l e y b a l l Association at the association courts last Thursday. Cool Leaders stunned their more fancied counterparts winning the first set 25-19. Sunbrook quickly regrouped and went into overdrive securing the
second set 25-17 to equal the set score at 1-1 and pushing the game into the third and final set. Sunbrook had the better of the exchanges in the final set racing to a fluent 15-10 victory. Frendz put up a great effort but went down 21-25, 22-25 to Premier league outfit Warriors Sport. Grove End's dominance of volleyball in KwaDukuza with a clinical 25-19, 25-17 victory over Darnall United. However, the match of the
evening belonged to Randsons and KSST. KSST started off as favourites to clinch this match but Aslam Randeree's charges had other plans for their more illustrious opponents. They stunned KSST 25-17, 25-12 to book their place in the semi-final. Tomorrow (Thursday), Warriors will need to fire on all cylinders when they take on Grove End, favourites in this tournament whilst Sunbrook will do duty against Randsons.
KDAC runners that participated in the Nosa Hillcrest Challenge
KwaDukuza Athletic Club members defied the extreme heat this past Sunday and participated in the Nosa Hillcrest 21.1km challenge. Due to the extreme conditions, Gordan Pillay had to bail out of the race. However, 5 other runners gritted it
out and completed the gruelling race. Bala Soobramoney, Nikeyi Maarbeel, Yathin Narothum and Dippy Moodley showed great comraderie as they cut the tape together in 2h32 whilst Roshan Bhowan completed the race in 2h17.
Have Proteas found all-rounder solution? The absence of genuine all-rounders in the ODI setup has long been a concern for the Proteas, but the performances of Chris Morris and David Wiese in the final two matches against England suggest that things are looking up. 2-0 down in the series after Port Elizabeth, South Africa seemingly lacked the balance of their opposition. But Morris' electrifying hitting display in Johannesburg on Friday night and then Wiese's performance with both bat and ball in Sunday's series decider in Cape Town have given a renewed sense of optimism. With Wiese and Morris occupying the No 7 and No 8 positions, the Proteas have powerful batters in their lower order. The decision to play both players for the last two ODIs meant that South Africa had to move away from their formula of playing seven specialist batsmen. It was a change that needed to be made, according to captain AB de Villiers. "It helps a lot," De Villiers said of having two genuine all-rounders in his side. "I still like to think that we haven't moved away from the 'seven batsmen' option. That is something that we can still revisit given the conditions and situation. "David and Chris definitely brought a different dynamic and change was needed after the first two ODIS. They really breathed a fresh confidence into the side. The way they played is

phenomenal." There are still question marks over Morris' bowling - his series figures 4/185 in 27 overs at a run rate of 6.85 will be of concern - but he has done enough to earn himself an extended run in this side. Wiese has also taken his chance. His figures of 3/50 on Sunday were perhaps a touch flattering given that two of his dismissals would have been called 'wide' had the batsman not played at them, but it was with bat in hand were the towering big-hitter impressed. Wiese finished 41* off 32 balls and closed the game with authority - a job that FarhaanBehardien has has been expected to perform in the past. Both Morris and Wiese are in the Proteas T20 squad that will play at home against England and Australia before jetting off to the World Twenty20 in India next month, and more good returns from them will go a long way towards convincing supporters that they are the men to take South Africa forward.
