Illegal road closure On Friday, the fishermen and community members took the initiative upon themselves to remove barricades that were put up by "certain groups" of people that reside on the beach "cottages". This entrance was in existence for about a century. During the 1987 floods, the road running adjacent to the river was closed. Hence, this is the only entrance to the Tugela South Bank. The elderly and those with disabilities are unable to have access to the beach. It must also be noted that if there is a drowning or if medical assistance is required there is no access to the beach. There was no community consultation when these barricades were put up. It must also be noted that this is about the only leisure and

getaway the underprivileged people of the community can afford. Why then should they be deprived of what belongs to them? There are pensioners and underprivileged people that look forward to their day spent on the beach. Some have fishing as hobbies that goes back to decades. Why then should "A decision taken by a chosen few" disadvantage those that are underprivileged? We are a rainbow nation. Madiba emphasised this through his legacy. Let us live in unity and harmony. Let us learn to be tolerant of each other and embrace diversity. Let us learn to respect each other. South Africa is a beautiful country. Let's unite and practise tolerance. 1SA4ALL. Last Thursday, I visited the clinic at 4:20am. My pressure was checked at 5:45 and I was called to the doctor's room at 8:45am. The doctor informed me that she needed my 'brown file'. When I went to the nurse outside the office, she was arrogant and rude. I went to the receptionist who made me a new file which I took to the doctor. The doctor then told me that she could not find my other charts. A nurse then walked in with another patient in a wheelchair, and I was asked to wait outside. By this time, I was supposed to be back at work, and had not yet been attended to. I gave my file to the front desk and left. I did not get my medication. This sort of treatment is unacceptable. Working class people take time off from work in order to go to the clinic and get their medication. Every visit to the clinic is met with arrogance and rudeness. It is really sad that we are treated like this, by people who are employed to help us.
