I bought my first Zippo in 1979 when I started as a flying crew chief in the Air Force. I still have that first Zipoo and it still works great, despite the abuse it took from an Air Force aircraft mechanic over 2l years of service all over the globe.This lighter has seen action in almost every conflict since 1979. lt is my good luck charm.Thank you for helping to keep my faith in American companies. The Norman Rockwell Collection was produced using Zippo's TechnigraphicsrM process. The dyed image is reproduced on a transfer medium,which is then positioned on the object to be imprinted. By the application of heat and pressure, the entire image, with all of its colors, is transferred in one step. Subtler gradations and a wider range of colors are possible. The rich colors, subtle gradations and delicate detail of the original artwork will not fade, chip, peel, or wear off as long as the finish

I am an Army Officer who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. I would always iump with my "lucky lighter" (aZippo with a shamrock on it). I made 38 jumps while at Fort Bragg. The one time I didn't have my lucky lighter, I ended up breaking my leg! Since then, l've moved to Germany and I am currently serving in Kosovo. I purchased the Indiana Jones Shamrock lighter and I hope it's as lucky as my old Zippo!

As I was walking bacl<, my friend dropped the gun, and two shots went off, both hitting the Zippo in the breast pocl<et of my coveralls. As far back as I can remember, my daddy carried the same Zippo lighter in his breast pocket. I can remember waking up in the middle of the night, hearing the clink of his lighter closing, and thinking what a comforting sound it was. lt meant that daddy was close by. Collector Story I was visiting the Czech republic through an exchange program in 1995. One night at the local bar, I asl<ed a friend for a light. He offered this cool Zippo. I jokingly told the guy thar I'd probably end up taking it with me, so he gave it to me as a Present. When I found the lighter in my coat pocl<et the next morning, I read the inscription. lt was the history of the Statue of Liberty, and an engraved picture of Lady Liberty.This was his one and only souvenir from the USA (my home country.) Every time I use my Zippo, I think of the most generous and giving guy in the Czech Republic!

Collector Storv My dad and I were fishing on Lake Norfolk in the early '60s. I had a bite on the line just as my dad was firing up his lighter. Not being a very good fisherman, I jumped up to set the hook, and Dad's Zippo lighter went flying overboard. The lake water was high that year due to flooding, but the following year I could walk on dry ground in the same area we had fished. And up in rhe branches of a small tree I found the Zippo.

amazing story here, but just wanted to tell what happened. I had a Zippo with "Ford Truck" logo on it, and lost it about a year and a half ago. lt recently resurfaced in

my burning pit outside - after dozens of fires, and sitting our all winter in Michigan, under lots of snow. I merely wiped it off, changed the flint and fueled it. lt lit right up! | was particularly impressed by the fact that not even the outside finish was damaged. Once again Zippo has shown how tough and robust their product is.

Collector Story lwas a member of the U.S.Army l0lstAirborne Division,assigned to the BravoTeam of the 2nd 502 LRRP's.We were deployed along theVietnam/Cambodian border to observe and track enemy patrols One night, a 20-man patrol of NorthVietnamese regulars happened upon our position. During the ensuing firefight, I thought that I had been shot when I felt a powerful hit on the left side of my chest. Not seeing any blood and only observing an unusual bruise on my chest, we carried on. lt was only after recurning with our prisoners to the nearest firebase that I realized that my favorite lighter, my Zippo, had been in my left shirt pocket and had taken a direct hit from an AK-47 round!The lighter was destroyed, but I kept it with me for the rest of my tour. In 1969, I purchased aZ;ippo lighter in Cu Chi, SouthVietnam. I had my name and unit (25th Infantry) engraved on it and carried it with me for the next twelve months. lt was the only memento of my experience, besides my dog tags, that survived the trip back home. ln 1972 | lost my Tippo,never to be seen again; I rhought.

Collector Story It was getting dark one night as I walked in a field near a small river. My dog Rover was running thougn the river, and when I got to the end of the field, I called him.When he didn't come, I walked back up the field to find he was tangled in a long thread.When I bent down to get him untangled, my Zippo fell our of my pocket into the river. I tried to Srab it, but missed. About three months later I was walking my dog in the same field. I let him off the lead, and he ran though the river across the field.
