Pre-Medical Program Xavier University School of Medicine (XUSOM) offers a 5 ½ Year Pre-Med - M.D. Program. The curriculum is based on U.S. medical education standards to ensure a successful academic career and to satisfy medical licensure guidelines. This rewarding program provides 4 trimesters of focused pre-medical studies to fully prepare students for their medical studies at Xavier University School of Medicine. High school graduates enrolled in this program will be prepared for residency by age 23. Most of our 5 ½ year program students save time by not having to secure their position as a medical student with a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

4-Year M.D. Program Xavier University School of Medicine’s accelerated program is comprised of four academic years of medical education, without compromising the total number of credited hours or clinical exposure. MD VI - Transition to Clinical Medicine During this semester students will cover: • Comprehensive Integration of Clinical Judgment • Foundations of Medicine • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) • BLS (Basic Life Support) • USMLE Step 1 Review Course • Getting into Residency This program prepares our students not only for USMLE Step 1 but also for a smooth transition into clinical medicine in the United States.
