Exchanges of Practices of digital storytelling in youth work KA2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Strategic Partnership for Youth - Exchanges of Practices AIM This project comes as continuation and follow-up of a previous project in which Y-E-N and other partners discovered, tested and validated innovative and creative digital tools such as digital storytelling and talent approach: "Angle It Right: New Perspectives on young people with fewer opportunities" (2016). The aim of this strategic partnership is therefore to experiment, share and confront practices on innovative, digital and creative methods and tools to foster youth empowerment and social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities / in vulnerable situations. OBJECTIVES - To explore the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations of digital tools when working with young people with fewer opportunities and in vulnerable situations; - To promote the added value of digital tools in youth work; - To develop digital competences of youth workers by training them on the use of digital storytelling and talent approach with young people with fewer opportunities; - To create a safe space for young people with fewer opportunities to reflect on their own life story, train them to storytelling techniques and media literacy and empower them to show their potential; - To inform young people with fewer opportunities about their rights, empower them to stand for these rights and get motivation for change; - To build capacity of the participating organisations and provide networking and peer-learning opportunities between them.

The aim of this meeting will be to physically getting to know each other, launch the project and put in place the planning of the mobilities.
This training course will allow young people to work on classical and digital storytelling directly with an expert. They will write their own script and shoot a digital life-story based on their personal experience.
TRAINING COURSE FOR YOUTH WORKERS 4-13 April 2018 - 10 days Ostia-Rome (Italy) - Hosted by Affabulazione Target group: Youth workers 2 participants / partner + 2 accompanying persons from Y-E-N (expert, logistics, reporting & communication)
PRACTICE PHASE (June - December 2018) During this practice phase, young people will return in their organisation with competences in digital storytelling to be used to produce videos with the help from youth workers.
This training course will build the capacity of youth workers on digital storytelling by discovering the use of digital tools and storytelling to be used in their work with young people.

PRACTICE PHASE (April - June 2018)

During this practice phase, youth workers have to start to implement what they learned in the training course with young people of their organisation.
The aim of this meeting will be to have a mid-term check of the project and evaluate the trainings (mobilities).

February 2019 - 4 days Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria) - Hosted by Active Bulgarian Society STUDY VISIT #2 - Y-E-N and The Exchangeables April 2019 - 4 days Dordrecht (NL) - Hosted by The Exchangeables STUDY VISIT #3 - Affabulazione and Youropia June 2019 - 4 days Oviedo (Spain) - Hosted by Youropia Target group: Project Manager / Director & Youth workers 2 participants / guest + 3 participants / peers + 1 accompanying person from the host (ABS, The Exchangeables or Youropia) The aim of these peer learning study visits is to allow participating organisations to share about their best practice in the field of storytelling, digital tools and other innovative and creative approach while working with young people with fewer opportunities (talent/ positive approach, art therapy etc.). The programme will be based on peer-learning education and experimentation. 3 study visits are organised for each organisation to be the “peers” of the activity, in pair with another organisation. Only one of these organisations will be the “host” in charge of logistics and reporting & communication.
PRACTICE & FOLLOW-UP PHASE (June - November 2019) During this practice phase, youth workers have to implement the tools and methods they learned from their peers during the study visits with the young people of their organisation (sessions, workshops etc.) This phase is also set for follow-up of the project within each partner organisation for all the benficiaries (youth workers, young people, organisation): impact questionnaire and study.
EVALUATION MEETING November 2019 - 3 days Strasbourg (France) - Hosted by Y-E-N Target group: Project Manager / Director 1 participant / partner + 1 accompanying person from Y-E-N (reporting & communication) The aim of this meeting will be to evaluate the project together with the different participants of the activities, write a pedagogical guide, set a follow-up strategy of the project and start to write the final report.

Y-E-N is a European network of grass-root youth organisations. Its vision is to reach an inclusive society, where young people, their needs and participation are recognised, valued and appreciated. Its 30 member organisations in 22 different countries all work at local, regional, or European level on social inclusion of young people. The Board is panEuropean (6 volunteers) and the Coordination Office is based in Strasbourg, France (4 paid-staff).
ABS is a non-profit, nongovernmental organisation working to promote awareness among youth. ABS organises youth exchanges, training courses, international seminars or structural dialogues through the leverage of European and International projects. The organization is hosting and sending volunteers, working with local community and organising social, sports, linguistic and artistic activities.
Affabulazione is a cultural centre established in 1992 in the peripheral local council of Ostia, a difficult and at-risk area in the city of Rome. It focuses on working in the community through artistic activities, cultural actions, trainings and promoting active citizenship. It a communitybased NGO that supports youth initiatives and youth groups to foster democratic participation in the decisionmaking processes.

U.S.B. is a non-profit, nongovermental organisation working in the field of youth mobility, participation and facilitating youth awareness about social issues. It organises youth-related projects such as youth exchanges and training courses to bring young people from the Balkans and Europe together, as well as local interventions, seminars and multimedia productions.
Youropia is a politically independent, non-profit cultural organisation that aims to bring Europe closer to citizens, especially to young people, and to promote values such as equality and tolerance through mutual understanding. It works in projects at both local and international level to promote active citizenship and social commitment: work camps, workshops, training courses and sessions for young people and youth workers.
