The Shine O ne for the past: I am a ver y delicate 22-year-old Pisces. I like painting and writing articles (in Chinese, of course). Before I came here, I studied in Wuhan, which is a big city in China. In my hometown there were no rivers or lakes, but Wuhan is a “city on rivers ”. During that time I often walled along the water front. Talking about my Major, I like freedom, I do not like rules and being commercial, but my painting skillsare poor, something which makes meworried about my development inthe future. For all these reasons, I selected a relatively free major to liberate my imagination: Visual Communication.
The Shine O ne for the Future: I am always looking for ward to the future with confidence. I think the core of art forms are the artists themselves,and the real value of their art is those artists ’ attempt to improve the world in their own special ways. So I am going to use what I have learned and will learn in the future, and using my way, I will make this world a better place to live in, even if the change I will bring about will be small.

My name is Zenan Jiang, and my English name is Jacqueline. My star sign is Libra, which shows that I am an extrovert and active person. Back home, I have a dog, whose name is Four, and which is now living with my mother and grandmother. They both take good care of it. My parents have always done their best for me, and what is also important, they have always supported my decisions, because they believe that life is too short to ignore our needs. Although they were quite reluctant about me studying abroad, in the end they agreed on it. As for learning, personally I think most of my interest is in the art and design, so I will do it better in this.

I am not really good at talking, so sometimes I feel that illustration is my way of communicating with others. I hope I will be able to tell my story or even other people’s stories thought my works, and share my fantasy world with others. I understand that it is hard to make a living with illustration, but I want to try. As people say “If you don't give it a try, how can you know how good you are?”
Look Back For as long as I can remember myself, I have always been the shyest student in class. My interest has changed a lot, from Industrial Design to Fashion Design, then to Art Marketing and now Illustration. After I graduated from my BA course, I tried several kinds of jobs, but it was really hard to get satisfaction from work. So I decided to study aboard for one more year, and attend a post-graduate course in Illustration. Even though I am not experienced in Illustration, I love the feeling of painting, and I think being an Illustrator is the coolest job in the world.
Before I decided to study at UCA, there was limited information about it in Taiwan. But when I saw the pictures of the campus and the art works from graduate students, I felt this is the school that I want to study in. Being part of five-week pre-sessional course, I felt fulfilled every day. I am really lucky to have met so many wonderful people. They are all very talented and friendly, and inspired me to become a better person. Although this five-week course is really short, it will become one of best memories I will ever have.
