SHARJAH, the city of Culture is located only a short distance from Dubai. UNESCO has elected Sharjah as the Cultural City of the Arab world for 1998. Sharjah 30 minutes from Dubai has one of the deepest harbors in the world. Mosques and museums of elegant architectural renown dot the entire emirate while the wildlife centre is home to the once endangered Arabian Leopard. The Blue Souq is a hot favorite for incredible bargains. King Faisal Mosque (largest mosque in UAE), the Quran Roundabout and the ‘Federation of the Emirates’ monument are excellent locations for photo sessions. Just a short drive northeast of Sharjah is Ajman - a small emirate with a lovely 16 kilometer stretch of white sandy beach. Masfut - the little agricultural mountain village, the historic fort and museum, and the natural harbor and port form the highlights of the tour.
