‘Cuentos canarios’, la última voluntad de Benito Pérez Armas
Publicado por el Ayuntamiento de Yaiza y Ediciones Remotas, ‘Benito Pérez Armas. Cuentos canarios’ constituye un legado literario que cumple la voluntad manifiesta del escritor, político y periodista nacido en Yaiza, tal y como explicó Alexis de la Cruz, librero y bibliófilo que se ha encargado de la recopilación de los textos, durante la presentación de la obra el pasado 5 de septiembre en el patio de la emblemática Casa de la Cultura que lleva su nombre.

La obra de Tayó vuelve al CIC El Almacén
Después de 25 años, Tayó vuelve a exhibir su obra en al CIC El Almacén, en Arrecife, con “Jugando entre líneas”, un proyecto expositivo impulsado por el Cabildo de Lanzarote y comisariado por Lana Corujo y David Machado, que no sólo aspira a dar a conocer la obra de este creador de Uga, sino también a poner en valor el significado artístico e intelectual de su trabajo.
La muestra, inaugurada el pasado 19 de agosto y que puede visitarse hasta el 5 de noviembre, ha visto la luz después de tres años de conversaciones y encuentros entre

Tayó’s work comes back to CIC El Almacén
Twenty-five years on, Tayó is once again exhibiting his work at the CIC El Almacén, in Arrecife, under the title Jugando entre líneas, an exhibition project backed by the Lanzarote Island Council and curated by Lana Corujo and David Machado. This work not only seeks to raise awareness on the work of this artist from Uga, but also to highlight the artistic and intellectual significance of his art.
The display, launched on 19 August and which can be seen until 5 November, has come to light following three years of conversations and meetings between the curators and the painter. The result is dialogue focusing on the interpretation of the emotions, sensations and perceptions that surround the artist’s reality and experiences in his surroundings, defined as a creative refuge that gives meaning to and defines his artistic discourse and his thinking. los comisarios y el pintor. As well as the exhibition itself, parallel activities are being held, such as a conversation between the curators and the artist, which was attended by around twenty people who came to learn about the ins and outs, foundations and phases through which the project has passed, as well as guided tours of the exhibition given by the Fine Arts graduate Damián Rodríguez. Pequeños autores y autoras presentan ‘Los cuentos de Los Chinijos’
Una treintena de niños y niñas del municipio participaron entre los meses de abril, mayo y junio del ‘Taller de Creación de Cuentos’ impartido por la escritora e ilustradora Mayte Pozo, actividad impulsada por la concejalía de Cultura de Yaiza que vio sus frutos el pasado 22 de septiembre con la presentación, en la Biblioteca de Playa Blanca, del libro ‘Los cuentos de Los Chinijos’.
Some thirty children from the municipality took part in April, May and June in the ‘Story Creation Workshop’ given by writer and illustrator Mayte Pozo.
This activity was promoted by the
Yaiza Department of Culture, culminating in the presentation of the book Los cuentos de Los Chinijos at the Playa Blanca Library on 22
September.
This new printed publication
Esta nueva publicación impresa recoge un total de 22 cuentos cortos escritos e ilustrados por estos pequeños autores y autoras, algunos de forma individual y otros en grupo, con historias de fantasía, terror, amor y aventuras distribuidas en 40 páginas a todo color. Una obra de la que fueron dando cuenta estos escritores noveles al tiempo que recogían con entusiasmo los cinco ejemplares por autor con los que les obsequió el Consistorio sureño para poder repartir y dedicar entre sus

This is the third edition of this creative workshop which will culminate with the publication of the book of stories. It will not be the last as both the writer Mayte Pozo and the Councillor for Culture, Daniel Medina, highlighted the aim to continue with this initiative that is having such a good reception and the importance of continuing to encourage and spark creativity and a love of reading and writing among our children.
