Hidden away behind the dynamic new bodywork, there’s an all-new frame that plays a key role in making the NMAX one of Yamaha’s best performing urban commuters. Its completely new design features a larger 7.1-litre fuel tank located in the centre tunnel to give better weight distribution for excellent manoeuvrability – and the new chassis and bodywork provide a more comfortable riding position with increased wind protection and reduced noise.
The new NMAX now comes with a Traction Control System that gives you a more confident ride on loose or slippery surfaces, such as wet cobblestones or poor surfaces. When the TCS senses that any rear tyre slippage is about to happen, it momentarily reduces drive to the rear wheel so that the tyre maintains traction, allowing you to ride confidently in varying weather and road surface conditions.
By riding such an economical scooter, you’re already helping to lessen your carbon footprint and to further reduce urban pollution and minimise fuel consumption, the NMAX is equipped with a Start & Stop system that cuts in when you come to a stop at traffic lights or on congested streets. When the lights go green, just release the brakes and twist the throttle and the EURO5 engine starts immediately.
