With a lower head pipe and new tank rails the YZ250F 50th Anniversary Edition’s lightweight bilateral aluminium frame gives improved handling faster and smoother cornering. The lower centre of gravity and reduced weight make the YZ250F 50th Anniversary Edition more agile than ever – and the revised balance of rigidity and YZ250F-specific engine mounts give plenty of feel and feedback.

The revised rider triangle accommodates riders of varying sizes and physiques. The shrouds are 50mm narrower, the flatter seat is 5mm higher and the footrests are 5mm lower, providing better ergonomics with enhanced controllability. The new side panels give a tighter and lighter look – and the new smaller front fender improves airflow to the radiators for consistent cooling.

The new rear duct airflow system channels fresh air through the spaces between the fuel tank, frame, seat and side panels – resulting in increased top-end engine performance and narrower body width. When air reaches the lightweight airbox it is pre-cleaned by a vortex that throws particles to the side, reducing air cleaner clogging and making routine maintenance easier.

The YZ250F 50th Anniversary’s Edition’s KYB front forks are widely regarded as being amongst the best in class, and the new generation bike features revised settings as well as a new handadjustable compression damping adjuster. The link-type Monocross rear suspension and KYB shock also runs revised settings for high levels of traction and control – and the renewed Power Tuner App contains useful suspension setting data for quick and accurate manual adjustments.

Another major change on the 2024 YZ250F is the totally new compact bodywork featuring ultra-slim shrouds as well as a much flatter seat profile for rapid weight shifting. The YZ85 is equipped with dynamic slimline bodywork inspired by the YZ125. Uniform and narrow radiator shrouds give an aggressive and balanced look that underlines the YZ85’s winning heritage.

A flat seat and ergonomic fuel tank allow for easy front/rear weight shifting for optimum control. The seat design accommodates a single bolt seat fixing, making routine maintenance easy and quick.

A detachable aluminium rear subframe helps to keep the YZ85’s weight to a minimum and also contributes towards the bike’s lightweight agility by centralizing mass.

The punchy 65cc liquid cooled engine is one of the most advanced in its class and features a racedeveloped crankcase reed valve induction system for instant throttle response. A key feature is the race developed YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) that gives smooth torque and power characteristics, making the YZ65 an ideal bike for young racers.

The YZ65 is equipped with a semi-double cradle steel frame that features an aluminium subframe, giving light and stable handling and easy agility. To soak up the harshest bumps this class-leading motocross bike comes with 36mm KYB upside down front forks, an aluminium swing arm and link-less Monocross rear suspension. These main components combine to provide outstanding chassis stability and consistent lap times.

The 6-speed transmission features carefully chosen gear ratios that have been specially developed to enable the rider to achieve lower lap times by fully utilizing the performance of the 65cc engine. Yamaha engineers have also designed the clutch plates and springs to give a light and easy clutch lever character.

The 36mm KYB upside down front forks underline the fact that the YZ65 shares the same pure racing DNA that goes into our other YZ models. With their excellent rigidity, they give a planted front-end feel for confident cornering – and their long-travel tubes are built to soak up the bumpiest surfaces.

The Yamaha bLU cRU Program Yamaha’s bLU cRU Program is designed to support the next generation of young riders, and recently won the FIM’s Award for the Future. Launched in 2015, the bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup is Yamaha’s unique pan-European youth race series with classes for YZ125, YZ85 and YZ65 riders between 8 and 16 years of age. The 2023 bLU cRU series was the biggest ever and attracted 537 riders from 28 countries. Riders compete in their national bLU cRU events, and the top 120 qualifiers between 8 and 16 years of age are invited to compete in the annual YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale which in 2023 was run alongside the prestigious Monster Energy Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France. The top 18 riders from the SuperFinale will be selected to join the Yamaha bLU cRU MasterClass. After intensive training, the top YZ125 rider will be awarded a contract with Yamaha Motor Europe to compete in the 2024 EMX125 class as part of the Yamaha team – while the winners of the YZ65 and YZ85 classes will earn valuable racing support from Yamaha. Driven by a 125cc 4-stroke engine, the TT-R125 delivers plenty of smooth power for spirited off-road riding.
