Hidden away behind the dynamic bodywork the high rigidity frame plays a key role in making the NMAX one of Yamaha’s best performing urban commuters. It features a large 7.1-litre fuel tank located in the centre tunnel to give a balanced weight distribution for excellent manoeuvrability. The chassis and bodywork provide a comfortable riding position with increased wind protection and reduced noise.
NMAX comes with a Traction Control System that gives you a more confident ride on loose or slippery surfaces such as wet cobblestones or tramlines. When the TCS senses that any rear tyre slippage is about to happen it momentarily reduces drive to the rear wheel so that the tyre maintains traction allowing you to ride confidently in varying weather and road surface conditions.
By riding such an economical scooter, you’re already helping to lessen your carbon footprint and to further reduce urban pollution and minimise fuel consumption, the NMAX is equipped with a Start & Stop system that cuts in when you come to a stop at traffic lights or on congested streets. Quick and controllable acceleration
For maximum efficiency, the NEO’s is equipped with the latest generation Yamaha Integrated Power Unit (YIPU) that features an air-cooled brushless electric motor located inside the rear wheel hub. This compact direct drive design eliminates the need for gears or belts and ensures smooth running, strong acceleration and extremely quiet operation.
As soon as you pull away on the NEO’s, you’ll feel its smooth power delivery and precise control at all speeds. Yamaha has taken extra care to ensure that the throttle design provides you with a smooth, confident feeling when accelerating from a standstill and when riding in slow moving traffic, making this electric scooter an ideal choice for all riders.

NEO’s Dual Battery NEO’s Dual Battery is the smart move for riders who are looking for an extended riding range of up to 68km*. Located beneath the flip-up seat, the two portable lithium-ion batteries are designed to maintain a high level of efficiency for 10,000km / 2 years and can be charged while on the scooter or easily removed and charged in your office or home.
*Tested in WMTC Class 1 in STD mode, fully charged battery at a temperature of 25°C.
