WEEK 8 STRATEGIES FOR OPENINGS ACTIVITY: Oval Pavilion ‘In Detail’ Drawing Task: Drawing a 1:1 scale of a detail from the Oval Pavilion construction documentation set. My Detail: Drawing 6: Section – Service Area on page A60-02. This section is located on page A46-03: North Function Wall Detail. Following the reference, my detailed section is the back of the Oval Pavilion where is indicated on page A21-01

Face brick wall

Wall: There are 2 parts of a wall present in the detailed section and a cavity between the exterior and interior walls. Exterior walls:

- The exterior wall is a face brick wall. There are weep holes, tie and Cavity flashings in this wall, which helps move the water out of the wall system to prevent damage from occurring. In addition, the flashings have a drip edge to prevent capillary action of moisture.

Internal wall: - For ground floor, it can be seen that the bottom plate is made of timber and there is the acoustic insulation (INS-01) on it. In addition, a vapor barrier is covered on the outer side of the wall to resists diffusion of moisture through wall. The inside is two fire resistant plaster board. -

For basement floor, the interior walls is made of precast concrete.
