BEHAVIORS AND ENVIRONMENTS CHILDREN'S FUTURE LIBRARY

We imagine the future library should be a transfer station of knowledge, books and various other things are combined to enhance the learning experience. It is a good way to interact with children through the use of theater to display literature, and through the studio to display art.

According to Montessori teaching method, we believe that the purpose of education is to develop children's spirit of active learning and exploration.

Especially design some colorful "toys" for children to play while learning. Let children of different ages have their own suitable activity areas, and let children have a feeling of passing the game when learning in different areas.

Process

A library is a curated collection of sources of information and similar resources. Consisted of archives of the earliest form of writing—the clay tablets in cuneiform script discovered in Sumer, some dating back to 2600 BC. To create an immersive, futuristic and diverse children's library. According to second nature, people will have habitual actions, such as staying on the border, so when we build the library, we will create more spaces where children can stay more comfortable on the border.

Books, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, films, maps, prints, documents, microform, CDs, cassettes, videotapes, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, e-books, audiobooks, databases, table games, video games and other formats. Services commonly provided by public libraries may include storytelling sessions for infants , toddlers , preschool children, or after-school programs , all with an intention of developing early literacy skills and a love of books. The concept we put forward is second nature, and we chose this concept because we paid attention to the relationship between the boundary and people, architecture and nature at the sociological level.

The library is just like the second nature, especially this kind of children-oriented library. It is an intensive, condensed, exquisite and shared spiritual home that meets the need to accommodate reading activities and various other ways to acquire knowledge arises and develops from it.

Purple · All ages

This is a space surrounded by purple, suitable for people of all ages to experience art here. There are studios, galleries and steps leading to the terrace.

Orange · 7-12

This is an area surrounded by orange, a space suitable for children aged 7-12. There are round window seats suitable for children to sit alone. There are bookshelves, chairs and tables that match their height. This is an area surrounded by steel blue and bright yellow, which is suitable for all ages. This area is mainly a leisure outdoor reading space.

Dark See Green · All ages

This is an area surrounded by dark see green, suitable for people of all ages to experience music here. There is a choir room and a learning area for different musical instruments. Above it is the terrace.

Light blue · All ages

This is a space surrounded by light blue, suitable for all ages. There is a light food restaurant and rest area, as well as a small viewing platform.

Bright yellow · 13-15

This is a space surrounded by bright yellow, suitable for children aged 13-15. There is a stepped reading space and a curved communication space. Use the combination of building and furniture scale to integrate the building itself into daily use.

Light pink · 3-6

This is a space surrounded by light pink, suitable for children aged 3-6 to play in the sunken activity space in the middle. It is surrounded by adults who are suitable for taking care of children, and there are many bookshelves for adults to read. This space can also be used for lectures or sharing sessions.

Central Transportation Area

This area uses a variety of colors to indicate that children of all ages meet and merge here. Enter the library from the most iconic red arched door, walk up the purple spiral staircase, and then the gray platform for a temporary rest. The three bright yellow pillars symbolize that children can grow up happily in the library.

Olive · 15+

This area uses an olive-colored exterior wall. It is a learning place for children over 15 years old, suitable for reading and self-study. There are lecture halls and lectures can be held. It adopts a design that integrates indoor and outdoor, and the eaves stretch to form an outdoor seat.

In this project, We want to create this children's library through bright colors and unconventional shapes. These different shapes may bite and repel each other. They are also building or furnitures.

By observing the behavior habits and heights of children of different ages, design spaces that are most suitable for their ages, as well as spaces for all ages. For example, when designing the activity area for children aged 3-6 years old, the care needs of parents are emphasized. When designing the activity area for teenagers over 15 years old, it is important to consider their afterschool study needs.

When considering people's movement lines, I hope that the movement lines can be enriched so that people can have more choices.

SECTIONAL VIEW CONTAINING STRUCTURAL INFORMATION FROM THE SOUTH

Regarding the cross of heavy-duty polyline beams and the relationship with ventilation ducts. On this curved wall, the building and furniture can be integrated, that is, the building itself can be used as furniture for users. People can lean on this curved wall to read, rest, and chat.
