DARNLEY DRIVE PROJECT INFORMATION

PLAYGROUND ELEMENTS

As part of Frankston City Council’s commitment to improving playgrounds a concept plan has been prepared a playground upgrade at Darnely Reserve, Skye. The concept plan incorporates expanded playground space with new equipment suitable for younger and older childern, new concrete footpaths, new social spaces with picnic tables and seats, park fencing, and new tree and garden bed planting to provide shade and improve the park appearance. The project will e delivered during the 2018-2019 financial year

Overlap City

"E-Gate" E-Gate is the largest remaining undeveloped site and critical to urban renewal agenda of Melbourne "Overlap" city is a response to the tactics and implication of the 3 combinations (Industry:Ecology Mixed-Use:Public Space Infrastructure : Environment) through creating several types of spaces. For instance, roof garden, vertical greening, urban forest and "micro city". The consequences of these spaces are vital, which could bring new habitat, improve air quality, create micro-climate and improve efficiency and accessibility of site. In terms of roof garden, the way of construction is to overlap buildings on top of each other and the spare space could be used as roof garden. There are 2 options for overlapping buildings - one building over two or two buildings over one.

The other point is vertical greening. I use the pillars to support floor for creating more space for greening. the edge of each floor and even the vertical surface of buildings are covered by large amout of vegetation. The other areas such as timber promenade, urban forest and plaza are built specifically for pedestrians. The core concept of project is to create different types of spaces and their positive effect by literally overlapping the buildings.

"The Hill" Johnstons Canal A Pathway constructed by cutting straight through a Hill


The Hill and Johnstons Canal are located in Glebe, Sydney. The design purpose is to insert a new connection between the light rail station and Annandale. meanwhile improveing permeability at the site edges and develop a clearly Public interface. My proposal directly connect the platform with the Annadale by cutting straight through the hill. At the same time, open space and staircase covered by turf along the cutting.
