Foundation for Diaspora Music
The project’s goal is to design a music center supports four globally repositioned ethnic musical band leaders in residence for a year, and provides them with apartments for living, rehearsal rooms for Internet-streamed cross-cultural experimentation, and performance rooms for public performances. The program includes spaces for each ethnic cohort to gather to observe their music being made while cooking and eating ethnic foods associated with their particular diaspora community. Music and architecture has long relationship between each other. The concept of this foundation is to create a continuous space to enhance the connection between different musicians, performance and public, in order to increase sharing thoughts and cultural inoculation. At the same time to properly provide private space for the musician for individual creation and living.

To enable more light coming through the center of interior space, a volume is cut on the roof and the floor below. New floors are inserted. Without overload the building, some column are reinforced to carry the additional loads.

PARADOX RADIO FLYER OFFICE DESIGN
Radio flyer is a wagon and toy production company. The mission is to renovate its old factory, which is no longer Production, into an office that allow employees, clients and co-worker doing multi-activities here. In order to create a interdisciplinary working environment and also playful, I took concept from the impossible object From the drawing of M.C. Escher and created a circulated office space.
SITE ANALYSIS
The old factory of Radio Flyer is located at Belmont Cragin neighborhood, Chicago. In the south it is close to the historical Oak park community. The aim is to create an office environment that is alive, that facilitated interaction and that doesn’t draw any distinctions between working and living. The employees make the decision of what work pace, work form and workplace is right for the task at hand: concentrated work or
communicating; standing or sitting; office chair or sofa. The employees have many options to choose from, and when everything in within easy reach, it is not a problem to quickly switch between these options either.
INSPIRATION This Diagram shows the main functions of the office. Different functions have their unique requirement of space quality. Each function will intersects with others and forms new working status.

+ M. C. Escher's Painting shows a illutive sence with physically impossible space, but it also inspires with new space chances. In the painting, space has multi aspacts, which are circulated from on to another. It depicts a looped, multi directional space.
Took inspiration from M. C. Escher's Painting, the old factory is redeveloped as a circulated space which redefines the architectural space.

A Journey Of Music Piano Factory and Auditorium
Project Narrative Design a piano center in Printers Row neighborhood for a company that is organized such that it builds pianos by hand as they are ordered. Besides workshops where the piano parts will be crafted and assembled, the building will house a recording studio, practice rooms and a small auditorium. Propose a solution that draws a connection with this existing neighborhood amenity as one strategy towards creating a facility that contributes in a positive way to the neighborhood. Pursue the idea of a manufacturing facility as an amenity to the vibrant city neighborhood. Through the development of the architecture and the program, the project should function as a public place.
