Neither beauty nor virtue in eternity make sense, if ever exist, as a place has obtained its nature before it is found or constructed. Time generates stillness and motion, in the dynamic balance between which force and space form, and then the universe. Time transforms the relations between internal and external, existing and latent, autologous and mutual in a place. And time converts the relationship between the place and us. Time is the protocol. We are the pilgrims.

The layout allows specialized unit to work, so tannery owners can choose to simplify workflow and save cost. With spacious open space, the settlement requires 22.5 hectare of land. Engineer the terrain and use gravity for water flows, this new site tries to provide a livelihood to tanners and their family members. Strategic urbanizing creates opportunities for green industry and informal innovation.

By construct jetty along river, current is obstructed, slurry deposit on the chestnut stacks between posts and the woven brushwood fascines holds the slurry and mud to form quagmire along jetty and the Weave Loop and during time a new shoreline formed. Behind the shelter of jetty, water is much less rapid and adding the installation of bird burrow, vertical planter and fish egg-laying strips, a habitat haven generated real quick. Visitors pass by from weave loop for pedestrian and bike loop can witness the atypical phenomenon in front of and behind the huge jetty on the jetty itself, posts, and foreseeable new mud land. They can testify the return of birds, aquatic fauna like American eel and migratory fishes and water plants like bugleweed. Bike parking fields is located at land end of jetty in the untouched reed field.

A-A 1”=20’

By cut into land to process water, existing shoreline partly broken, soil erodes and is washed away by water. The installation of chestnut posts and brushwood bundles down the Weave Loop holds the exceed land erosion and support lush of slope stabling plants community. Visitors pass by from weave loop for pedestrian and bike loop can interact with the interface of surface on the posts, the activity facet of ‘cut’, and even the surfaces of water treatment facet, for example, viewing lotus blossom in the duckweed ponds, wondering on the paths of reeds on coke surface.
