Passenger Drone Terminal | St. Louis, MO, USA | 22 Spring
The invention of drones shows a great potential of new types of transportation. The first commercially produced drone capable of carrying a human was introduced in 2016. As of June 2021, there are also a number of other companies involved with creating passenger drones and planning to release them in near future. Companies are exploring the use of passenger drones as air-taxis and for air-ambulance services. And passenger drone developers are working to overcome many challenges, including noise, small useful load, short flight times, airspace regulations, and scarce data on both safety and general operations.
Passenger drones can also be a new method for both passenger and distribution. A multi modal drone terminal is designed to boost the traffic efficiency in St. Louis. It has amount of possibilities to be discovered to make the best of its advantages, such as air taxi/airbus center, suburban commuter or even a trauma center attached to the hospital.
The proposal of passenger drone terminal is a transportation hub connected to other stations or airports. While the terminal realizes its original function, the terminal can enhance its role in the city. The connection with the airport and subway station adds to its core function - the ability to be used as part of a multi modal network. As a terminal, it can also be used as a place for public.

Located on the top of a hill among the seashore of Costa Rica, the building is following the contour, which maximizes the best view of the sea and forest. The wood structure is utilized to interact with the natural atmosphere and the landscape. The interior spaces, which is open to the courtyard, are in the circulation of both pedestrian bridges and ground paths.

The buildings are stilted from the ground, reserving the natural surface and minimizing the artificial impact on wildlife. Layered levels of each building improves the interior natural light gathering and provides better air ventilation.
Each side of the courtyard circulation serves different user groups - east end of the buildings are for public use, including tourist center, administration offices, double height galleries, multi functional space and theater. At the west end of the buildings is for endangered species rescue workers, containing an aviary, wildlife labs, library and workers apartments.
18
19
The shading canopy is to enable the ventilation, keep structure light weighted, and also control the light intensity. Balconies are free and open to the nature, also facing the sea. The aviary is next to the rescue labs, which allows the wildlife worker keep the animals for a time to observe.

Bruzzano Health-themed Concept Masterplan
Bruzzano is a district located on the northern edge of Milan. UNStudio and Unipol firmly believe the future of the Milanese outskirts is dependent on projects like the development of the site in Bruzzano: that metropolitan integration and connection of Milan to its surroundings is an essential step towards a sustainable and resilient future of the city.
UNStudio’s proposal for the Bruzzano masterplan competition aimed to define new targets for the city of Milan integrating overarching metropolitan and European strategy. The sustainable environmental strategy could be part of any new city development, thus, carbon neutrality targets, biodiversity, urban climate resilience and life quality are base targets that the design aims to achieve.
