N-0 house Concept The site located in Bankers Hill, San Diego, where close to a landmark recreational district----The Balboa Park. In nearby neighborhood, the Maple Canyon provides the value by giving views and fresh air to the site. Moreover it persist in bio-diversification. N-0 (zero) is chosen to orient as a theme and goal in this proposal. From one of my most remarkable author Robert Wright who wrote a book on non-zero-sum and human destiny. The most common example for the concept of zero sumness is chess game, which there will be a winner and a loser. As the significant increase of human population become a more common social trend to the near future, stress that each individual will get from daily life is also increased because of a more competitive environment in ecologically and economically. Especially in developed countries, according to Center of Diseases Control, many death brought up from a cause of certain unhealthy cultures on dealing with stress. Smoking and obesity are the top two of the death causing problems those strike on us. Furthermore to non-zero’s general big picture, focusing to the capability of engineering a house that produce energy to meet its demand, this is known as net-zero energy design. For a more eco-friendly design, I chose bamboo as one of the major materials for my house. Bamboo is ideal to grow in San Diego, California climate zone 7. There are also small to medium scale bamboo farms in this county. As I look on map of fault lines where indicates maple canyon has an issue of high earthquake frequency, bamboo can become a possible choice on reinforcement due to its durability and flexibility. Algae photosynthetic solar panel has a clear volume and able to light up LED, they are chosen to help laminating this N-0 house. Geothermal heating and cooling has advanced succession on technology till today, and their well performance as renewable energy source has been proved. Some of the grey water on site will treat with processes of simple coagulation and sedimentation for filtering water. These water can then use for irrigation to the landscape and urban farm where a healthy and sustainable food energy consuming habit encourages.

For these N-0 oriented construction and concept, it takes analysis of architecture toward a cross study examinable and in depth sustainable life. This will be a solution that help reduce both the stress we has from competitive work and stress that we put in to the environment.
