Prince George Performing Arts Center Renovation and Addition Washington, D.C. - 2016
(Under Construction)
Exterior Envelope and Value Engineering From the beginning this project was over budget by20%. To save the project we developed a variety of cladding concepts and changes to the structure that would maintaint the “Design Intent while maintaining the performance of the Envelope. The team that assembled this project were in 3 cities: Washington, DC, LosAngeles and New York. As the Lead architect on the project the plan was to divide the project into components that would place responsibilities of the expertise in the appropriate teams.
Exterior Envelope and Value Engineering These sketches illustrate the interplay of Revirt Modeling and skethes which explored the realities of contruction. We used this method to reduce the modeling time by integratiing contruction techniques and methods of construction responsibilities as well as understanding the details that would achieve the look.
Meetings with Consultants and Coordination Many of the meetings we used three dimensional cutaways to coordinate with the departments and faculty to illustrate the options they had with relationships and their Space.
Plan Development:
Add Alternate and Phasing Studies: The sketches to left illustrate the many explorations we went through to get the project within budget.
