A BIT OF A CARRY ON

The Friarage Theatre has been built to the same standards as the Princess Alexandra Auditorium but provides a more intimate space with 140 seats. The HD projector and surround sound mean it is the perfect venue for National Theatre Live and RSC Live.

The 750-seat Auditorium has been designed and built to the highest performance specifications. The facility was opened in 2013 and has hosted numerous high-profile performers, such as Jimmy Carr, The London Gospel Choir, The London Festival Opera and many more. The facility has also been awarded two prestigious RIBA awards for design excellence.

Tchaikovsky’s much-loved music is matched to a story of magic on Christmas Eve, and the journey of Clara and her Nutcracker to the Land of Sweets brings with it some of the most familiar of all ballet moments. When all of his friends go away, Norman Price decides to find adventure in Pontypandy and become the star of a visiting circus.

Fine, it’ll be a very funny night of grumbles and jokes in which Josh will finally tackle the hot comedy topics of advent calendars, pesto and the closing time of his local park.

David Gower is one of England cricket’s finest captains and players. Often described as one of the most stylish left-handed batsmen of all time, Gower played 117 Test matches and 114 One Day Internationals (ODI) scoring 8,231 and 3,170 runs, respectively. He is England’s 6th highest capped test player and 4th highest test run scorer of all time.

Widdicombe is best known for the twice BAFTA nominated and multiple Broadcast and RTS awardwinning show The Last Leg, as well as his critically acclaimed sitcom JOSH, Insert Name Here, QI, Have I Got News For You, A League of Their Own and his hit podcast Quickly Kevin Will He Score.

Host for the evening is another English Cricket legend Graham Gooch who was one of the most prolific run makers top-flight cricket has ever seen. Graham will take a nostalgic look back on David’s illustrious career with numerous anecdotes along with David’s opinions on the current state of English Cricket and the game in general. David will talk about captaining his national team to victory in the Ashes as well as memories on flying that Tiger Moth over Queensland.
