DESCRIPTION
Upvillage project was a competition inspired by the internal courtyards that characterize the historic fabric in the center of Milan. The proposal is a compact volume set along the border of the site with curvilinear movements and cuts relating to the context of the Urban Park. On the north, there is the public plaza and and social programs like the gym and coworking spaces whereas on the south there is the private internal courtyard and residences. On the upper floors of the buildings the volume is divided to make ten Urban Villas, volumes with leaning wooden structure with the aim of maximizing the experience of living and improving visual permeability with the context. The villas do characterized by a high distribution flexibility and qualitative architectural elements: private gardens, large windows, double-height interior spaces. I was responsible in the design process and the production of sections and plans.

Snam Headquarters project is part of Symbiosis development; consisting of smart office buildings as well as urban parks and plazas located in Milan, Italy. In particular Snam Headquarters in this masterplan is Building F and its public space is part of North campus which is a series of public spaces that ties the development together and creates continuous trail. The studio was responsible of the landscape design of the whole development which is partially constructed. I was involved in in particular Snam’s public space; Campus North which is being developed now. We proposed a preliminary design for this project. This project was collaborated with Citterio Viel and Partners and Piuarch. I worked on developing the landscape design and related drawings.

ACADEMIC INSTITUTION:
AS WATER AND PUBLIC SPACE DISAPPEARS FROM OUR CITIES, CAN THESE HISTORICAL WATER MONUMENTS RE-EMERGE AS WATER RESOURCE AND PUBLIC SPACE?
DESCRIPTION
My master’s thesis project questions how to revive an old typology in Istanbul; the fountain. Today approximately 1400 fountains exist in the city still from the reign of Byzantine and Ottoman Empires and they are decaying because of non preservation, loss of function as well as urban sprawl. My thesis questions how to integrate these fountains into the city fabric with landscape strategies as well as how the typology itself can become a tool to create public space with water. I developed two projects, however in my portfolio is displayed the first one. The first project is located in Tophane in Istanbul; a pocket park near an existing fountain located close to the city center.

PROJECT SITE AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES
LOCATION: TOPHANE
There is a large number of decaying fountains in the city in need of renovation. They are mostly in the old city spreading along bosphorus. And the public squares of the city are poorly designed mostly concrete pavements with little green space and no sustainable water management strategies. So my thesis is centered on ameliorating both conditions of THE FOUNTAIN AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH PUBLIC SPACE.

A leftover park around a historical fountain that has been going through continuous evolution
The project site is an historical site; a fountain in a very little park with disconnected monuments. In this site there is already an existing fountain. I devised a vocabulary of design strategies that are dealing with land, hardscape and water.
FOUNTAIN . GRADUATE . 2019
Istanbul has been going through rapid urbanization in the last 30 years. It is one of the fastest urban sprawling cities with a 16 million population. The overcrowded city suffers from scarcity of public space. Another problem of the city is decreasing green space. As the city grows green infrastructure; the forests ”the lungs of the city” are destroyed. Water pollution is yet another problem that emerges with urbanization.

LANDSCAPE STRATEGY
DESCRIPTION The competition project for Uitikon Allmend is inspired by the site. The proximity to forest and the hill which hosts a bunker underneath were the starting point of the project. On top of the hill is a public swimming pool building, a school building used for crafts and various sports fields like football field, running track, hammer throw. We were asked to redesign all of the sports amenities as well as a new gymnasium and a community center with a tight budget. The landscape team’s concept was to reutilize the hill by a necklace like path around it scattered with playful elements and resting spaces inspired by Swiss orchards. Contrasting this winding path is the formal paths around the buildings that merge all of the sports activities. My role in the team was production of all landscape drawings including masterplan, siteplan and diagrams as well as providing architects with the base drawings related to landscape. All of the renders, axonometric, plans, sections were re-edited by me.

DESCRIPTION
The project is located in Usak, Turkey and it is currently under construction. The building was shaped to take advantage of the whole site and the views to Ataturk Avenue and the park across the street. The concept was based on having continuous terraces all around the building to maximize the outdoor living. A custom aluminum profile was designed to surround the terraces to show the slabs thinner. My role in the team was project management and construction drawing. All of the CAD drawings are done by me as well as client meetings and meetings with engineers.
