N.Style Smartphone Application


Target Market – Adults 25-49 who live in or visit the Dallas Metropolitan area and are able to shop at Northpark – People who are interested in enhancing their shopping experience by using new technology


Profile Page Specifics: –

Will include a screen name, under which each member can post fashion preferences, favorite stores, recent purchases, etc.

Status, much like a Facebook status, can be posted asking for fashion advice, inviting members at the mall to meet, and serves a way of getting unbiased advice.

All members will be able to see each other’s profiles.

This will build an exclusive social network for Northpark Shoppers where they can make friends and interact with people during the shopping experience.


Connecting to Other Shoppers Specifics: –

Upon login, users will be able to search for specific items based on description, keywords, price, and store location.

When a search result is selected, the location of the store will be highlighted on a mall map

User will also have the option to post items found on his or her N.Style profile, and to other social networking sites. (Facebook and MySpace)

This will save shoppers time and help them find exactly what they are looking for.

Sharing on Social Media Customers can chat to their friends and post pictures of items on facebook walls. This enables customers to have instant advice. Also, great for gift giving, customers will have the assurance that the item chosen is actually correct. (as shown on the right)


N.Style Matching Capabilities – When shopping, users will be able to take a picture of the barcode of any item in a participating store in Northpark. – With this information loaded, N.Style can find other items in the mall that are comparable or would match the item in an outfit. – Users can also share these results on their N.Style profiles, on social networking sites, or through text message. – This will help shoppers at Northpark build outfits and share what they’ve found with friends.

Discount Page – A random weekly discount will be given out to a user upon login. Thus encouraging you to use N.style while reaping the benefits. You are automatically eligible to receive discounts, just by logging in.

These incentives encourage customers to always log on & use the service.

– Can range anywhere from 20% off a purchase in any participating store in the mall, to a free soda at the food court. – When a user receives a discount gift, a notification and coupon code will pop up on their screen. They can then bring it to a Northpark customer service desk and the coupon will be printed for them there.


Making this work – Each store in Northpark will be given the opportunity to participate in program – They will load the barcode of each item in the store into the N.Style server which will serve as a mall-wide database • In each barcode, a thumbnail of the item, its price, available sizes, and location will be programmed • Keep up with inventory as items are sold and ordered


Why will shoppers want to use N.Style? •

It will be a fun way for shoppers to get unbiased advice while shopping

It will provide shoppers with a way to make new friends and meet new people

It will bring people together and build a network where they can feel like a sense of belonging

It’s a great way to connect, a way to have social gatherings in the mall, thus spending more time enjoying your experience. Having gatherings make it more fun, and can initiate socials with people at the mall (i.e. sonic lunch shopping breaks, Starbucks coffee chat before shopping, ice cream socials in the food court)


Why will Northpark stores want to participate? • •

It will increase consumer awareness of items in each particular store. Since this program is exclusive at Northpark mall, it will increase traffic to only this mall.

Search queries in the program will bring customers who are already searching for specific items, so when found they are already more likely to purchase.

Word-of-mouth coverage from customers sharing with other friends on social networks and via text messages. Advertising for the application will be provided by Northpark, and free of charge to the participating stores.

Other than the word of mouth this program will generate, it can be advertised by: – Billboards – Local radio – Website – At Northpark • food court • information boards at all main entrances • signs in stores
