Campsite Layout 1. Decide where you will put your campfire – usually in the centre as focal point. Tip: Set tents at least thirty feet from fire ring and keep a bucket of water close. 2. Pitch your tent – ideally dow wi d of the ca pfire so they do ’t get filled with s oke. Tip: Check ground area before setting up tent. Avoid rocks and branches that could puncture the tent floor. 3. Camp kitchen – best placed on the edge of the campsite open area to avoid attracting animals. 4. Latrain or toilet – You want it far enough away to keep odors out of camp but not so far that you will get lost in the night. Tip: With young kids in camp, a portable camp toilet will make your life a lot easier. 5. Locate camps water supply and setup a drinking and washing station. 6.
