A Communityof Success, Starts With You

Yayasan MENDAKI (“MENDAKI”), or the Council for the Development of the Singapore Malay/Muslim Community, is a Self-Help Group. It was set up in 1982 to uplift the academic performance of the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore through education and lifelong learning.
Its programmes assist students, families, workers, and individuals at various stages of life with their education, learning, and training needs. MENDAKI’s strategies include:
Empowering parents as the child’s first teacher, nurturer, and partner
Preparing children and youth to be resilient and future-ready
Empowering workers to be enterprising, connected, adaptable, and lifelong learners
Enhancing its organisational capacity to achieve excellence
MENDAKI’s programmes are accessible to all and are highly subsidised. Its education programmes aim to support students’ pathways to success. They are designed to supplement or complement national initiatives.
MENDAKI Care Advisors work closely with families to understand their needs. More than just support providers, they partner with families in the journey towards social mobility through the 4Cs framework.
We take the first step in reaching out to families, potentially needing help and seek to understand their needs.
Every family is unique. We conduct needs assessment to understand the issues that our clients are facing and identify their needs.
We leverage other agencies and resources at national and community levels to connect our clients to interventions that best meet their needs.
We advocate for our clients’ well-being to ensure they do not fall through the cracks.
