Brooklyn History Museum
9
The Brooklyn Historic Museum has a great collection of historical photographs that despicts the history of Brooklyn from its early days to present. Its design was inspired by “Deconstructivism. The facade is designed in a hierarchical manner starting from thin aluminun and glass panels at the base and expanding on each floor. These panels help identify the spaces based on the level of privacy. For instance, the lower level consists of offices, classrooms and bathrooms, having more privacy. On the other hand, the first exhibition level represents the dark moments while the top exhibition level represents brightest.

Green Market is one of the commercial spaces of a disaster reliefe program, in which a group of students designed a master plan as a response for Hurricane Sandy. A master plan in which its temporary residents would feel like in home, surrounded by other families in the same situation and safe environment. Hope Community, located in Calvert Park, between the barge and the in-land would house 360 people in houses made out of shipping containers, and it has a total of 227 units of containers made out of recycled materials. The families would be provided with whatever they need for
a living: a school, library, farmacy,
hospital, community center and a market that I decided to call Green Market. Green Market offers a big variety of

fresh and organic products thinking on its community well-being.
Massing Studies
1
The starter massing study in which I create a couryard surrounded by the containers. The side of the containers are cut and lifted up to provide shade for the Hope Community residents.
2
In this massing study I kept the main idea of the courtyard for anything that is fresh and enclosed it on only sides. I also created a space for main circulation so people would have to go inside if they didn’t have the need to.
3
Having the courtyard enclosed on its three side a second layer of containers is put, but the area seemed to crowded. Containers

15 Final Massing In this final massing the courtyard is enclosed on all side but the containers are separeted creating more space for circulation and a sitting area.

Red Hook Boutique Hotel
19
Red Hood is a abandoned neighborhood in decadence. It went from being the major port maritime of NY, where people would emigrate, to being in a state of decay. Red Hook Boutique Hotel’s iconic design would attract people to the area and enlight the view. Red Hook Boutique Hotel, houses a lot of activities and a wide range of programs like a spa, where people can relax, a restaurant with a panoramic view of New York City, the Statue of Liberty and Governor Island. ItsW design was inspired by the impression that I had of the site: Creepy, So I wanted to give a dinamic turn to its facade and make an iconic building to drag people to its inside.

Brooklyn Flandra Pavilion

Brooklyn Flandra Pavilion is a park right next to the Brooklyn Bridge in Washington and Prospect Street that is currently used as parking lot. A place in decay, dark at night and disolated. The Flandra Pavilion would be built in this grim place to enlight the mood and create a space where people could go and Site Plan
enjoy themselves. My main goal is to attract people that transit the Brooklyn Bridge so they would be intrigued by this piece of art. Moreover, I aimed for an iconic, beautiful structure that would wrap the visitors and protect them. The observatory is built so they could appreaciate the views that have being offered,

Dumbo Merging Tower
31
Dumbo Merging Tower is a high-end mixed use building, having a commercial base and a residential tower. The base is designed to flow in its triangular site, with a tunnel going through to the opposite street and the entrance on the most trasited street (Front St.). The towers have a different entrance in the less transited street (York St). and also have access to the commercial base. I was inspired by the concept of two towes merging and as they go up the open up to have a panoramic view towards the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattant Bridge, the park And the Manhattan Skyline.
