or the past several months, it has been a great pleasure to feature some of our local Yamhill County Realtors. Not only do I get to make new friends (bonus!) but I also get to personally experience the wide range of history, roots & knowledge that each agent offers. It has truly been an honour to participate in these interviews! So that said, let me introduce you to Eric Dawson - Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker Professional Group. Eric’s background is vast and full of adventure! I was delighted & puzzled all

YCRG: “How did you come to live in Oregon?” Eric: I grew up in the military, so I lived in
several different places such as Hawaii,
California and Illinois. I learned very quickly how to make new friends. My parents brought us to Oregon in 1976 where my mother was born and raised. I quickly discovered the beautiful nature of the northwest from the forest to the beaches. I love it here and never want to live anywhere else.
YCRG: “Tell me about your art education ... and how does that background help in real estate?” Eric: My education was in studio art. My focus was painting and drawing. I

YCRG: “How did you begin your real estate career?” received a BFA at Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1990. I loved my time in art school. Art taught me how to think critically and see a problem from multiple angles. These days photography has become my main mode of artistic expression. In 1991, I moved to Philadelphia to pursue my dream of making art and getting further education. I stayed there for 10 years. It was a great period where I was able to travel up and down the eastern seaboard. Most of my time was spent doing day trips to New York where I loved to go to the museums and galleries. I had a studio in the Italian Market in South Philly and I showed my work around the area.. It was a great time of exploration which I look back on fondly.
YCRG: “Do you have any children?” Eric: I have 3 children. Two are in college and one is about to be-
gin high school. All three have been involved in musical performance in some way. My oldest son is pursuing a career in Opera.
YCRG: “What are some of your interests outside of real estate?” Eric: I was a rock climber and mountaineer for over 20 years. I
