Beth has a deep love for Yamhill County and proudly supports all those who live, work, and play in our beautiful community. The News-Register of McMinnville recently featured Beth in an article titled “Kindness first” by Starla Pointer. Beth describes her passion for being kind first and treating others respectfully in that article. She regularly encourages community members to support local businesses and restaurants. “I’m very grateful; I’ve been given so much,” she said. “I feel fortunate for everything that happens. It’s my obligation to give back.” Beth describes herself as “the proverbial kid who’s happy to see a pile of manure because that means there’s a

pony.” Her philosophy - to be kind first - applies even in disagreements. “Even if we disagree, the chances of resolving our differences (with anger) are zero. As a culture, we’ve lost much of that” willingness to listen to each other. It’s too much ‘my way or the highway,” Beth states. “But in fact, we all share the same highway.”

Beth Caster - The REALTOR® Earning her real estate license in 2000, Beth was the principal broker at McMinnville’s Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Northwest Real Estate for several years. Beth moved to her current location three years ago and started Caster Properties - Keller Williams Portland Premiere. Beth loves her office on 7th street. She has lovingly remodeled and made it “her own.” She proudly showcases local art on her office walls and cheerfully welcomes visitors who walk through her door.

Keeping up-to-date on the latest real estate information & technology has proven to be a vital asset for her clients. Beth admits the last several years have been the hardest she has experienced in her industry. “Even during the 200809 recession, people had choices. Now the inventory is so limited; everything is so limited.” Still, she has loved her two decades as a real estate agent. Like McMinnville, it fits her since it depends on people skills, she said. “It’s a way I can be of service,” she said. “And I’m so grateful for everything real estate has brought me … financial and personal relationships.” Many of Beth’s clients are now friends. Some clients she first met when they were children of other buyers. “I’ve had the opportunity to become a part of their family,” she said. “I’m grateful I can use my skills, mind, and problem-solving ability to help someone.”

Changing Industry The real estate business has changed considerably over the years. With the latest technology and more online home shopping, real estate has become a 24/7 job. “It can prove challenging to set boundaries for personal time with constant access,” Beth said, “It’s why I leave my cell phone in another room when I go to bed so I won’t be tempted to return a text at 3 am”. However, situations arise, and being readily available is critical. Providing exceptional customer service is a vital component of Beth’s success. Beth strongly believes in honesty and providing full disclosure regarding a properties condition. “I want clients to have the best information,” she said. “Some properties are cute, but they’re money pits.” Beth makes sure her clients are well informed before closing the deal.

Dedication to community Beth recently received a volunteer award from the McMinnville Downtown Association. She helped fund a program that, in conjunction with state grant money, allows low income people to double the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables they buy. It’s an essential part of providing healthful food to people, especially seniors and families with young children, she said of the program. Beth is a firm believer in local Farmer’s Markets. “Yamhill County is a great place for growing and buying local produce. I cry at the beauty of what this valley offers,” she said. “Such an array of fresh vegetables! (Market tables laden with produce) are such a work of art!” Beth is also a local sponsor of McMinnville’s Farmer’s Market, which runs from early May to early October on Thursday afternoons. A special treat for potential real estate customers visiting the area is a visit to the Farmer’s Market or one of the many local restaurants on the way to view properties. It’s just one of the many ways Beth supports the community she loves.
