An Afternoon with...

Erin&Jenni

YCRG: INTRODUCTIONS PLEASE ... Tell us a bit about yourselves! JENNI: I grew up in Chula Vista, CA. I visited Oregon as a 13 year old and again as a 21 year old. I fell in love with it! It took me until 2011 to get here. Yamhill County was perfect for us as the wine industry had blossomed. I have loved being a part of the community and getting to know the lovely people here ever since.

Jenni Sings!! My Bachelor’s Degree is in Education with an emphasis on Theater, Vocal Music and Psychology. While I performed in many productions, in 2001 I was able to give the performance of a lifetime. There was a contest and out of 25 people, they sent the top 4 to the Dodgers, they picked me to sing the National Anthem at a Dodger’s Game. What a thrill and honour it was! My family and friends were all there too! It was quite amazing standing on the field next to the players of both teams, Tommy Lasorda and other greats! My performance was so well received that they asked me back the following year after 9/11 happened. So this time it was especially meaningful!! It was such a thrill and the energy of the crowd was over the top! I continue to sing and my love for singing has never wavered. Who knows what will happen when things open up again?

I am the mother of three grown children. They are 31, 30 and 27 years old. My daughter Jess and her fiancé Dex live in Sherwood. My Step-daughter Jessica and her boyfriend Miles live in Carson City. My son Andy and his wife Ariel live in Edmonds. They are all the light of my life! I am so proud of all of them for their amazing achievements. My husband David and I have been together and married for 17 years. It has been an adventure to be sure. We are so grateful we bought our home in Dayton. We have loved entertaining and having themed parties in our yard over the years. When we moved here, we wanted the chance to grow our own food and have a healthier lifestyle. We haven’t been perfect at it. It’s definitely been a journey. Also, my dream after high school was to open a health food store. I ended up going to college and in a totally different direction. However, I have seen so many people step over their health to attain their goals. I too was guilty. In addition to Real Estate, I am helping to launch a health and wellness business with a high tech, delicious, organic, convenient way to absorb nutrition immediately. My desire to help other Realtors and people in general is always at the center of what I do. I have many other hobbies and ways to express myself creatively. In addition to gardening, I do paper crafting, painting, card making, playing guitar (not often enough) and love art in general. My creative brain is always at work, that’s for sure. ERIN: I am originally from San Diego, CA. I always have enjoyed exploring new places and had a desire to leave the city life. When I received an opportunity to move to Kodiak, Alaska and I jumped on it. I spent several years exploring the Kenai Peninsula where I discovered my passion for nature, large animals, and the great outdoors. Being outside was not only refreshing but it replenished my soul, making everyday challenges easier to deal with. Alaska will always have a special place in my heart but it is not home. In addition to being outdoors, in my spare time I do volunteer work & accounting. Currently I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Yamhill County, providing assistance for children in the foster care system - making sure life necessities are being met and they being cared for. Previously I have worked with organizations like Junior Achievement and the Polinsky Center. I attained my Real Estate License several years ago, but it was not until COVID that I made the decision to pursue as a full time opportunity. (Talk about bad timing!) But it gave me a chance to focus on my clients, my education, the non-profit I want to create and the direction I want my business to go.

YCRG: What is it about Yamhill County you love the most? JENNI: I love the people, the food, the wine, the activities but, I really love how close it is to amazing beautiful spaces. Just driving up into the hills down tree lined gravel roads, beautiful vineyards and oh the sunsets are unbelievable, you can escape the day to day grind and transport yourself to another time and place in just minutes. Who wouldn’t want to live here? ERIN: My family is small and very important to me. I moved to Oregon to be closer to my mother, who was already living here. I fell in love with Yamhill County - the scenery, the wildlife, the friendly people, the sense of community & not to mention the WINE! Yamhill County’s central location allows me easy access to numerous outdoor activities that I had grown so fond of in Alaska. It feels like home and I want to be apart of this happy, friendly community.
