An Afternoon with... Jenni & Erin - Q&A Time
INTRODUCTIONS PLEASE ... Tell us a bit about yourselves!
JENNI: I grew up in Chula Vista, CA. I visited Oregon as a 13 year old and again as a 21 year old. I fell in love with it! It took me until 2011 to get here. Yamhill County was perfect for us as the wine industry had blossomed. I have loved being a part of the community and getting to know the lovely people here ever since. I am the mother of three grown children. They are 31, 30 and 27 years old. My daughter Jess and her fiancé Dex live in Sherwood. My Step-daughter Jessica and her boyfriend Miles live in Carson City. My son Andy and his wife Ariel live in Edmonds. They are all the light of my life! I am so proud of all of them for their amazing achievements. My husband David and I have been together and married for 17 years. It has been an adventure to be sure. We are so grateful we bought our home in Dayton. We have loved entertaining and having themed parties in our yard over the years. When we moved here, we wanted the chance to grow our own food and have a healthier lifestyle. We haven’t been perfect at it. It’s definitely been a journey. Also, my dream after high school was to open a health food store. I ended up going to college and in a totally different direction. However, I have seen so many people step over their health to attain their goals. I too was guilty. In addition to Real Estate, I am helping to launch a health and wellness business with a high tech, delicious, organic, convenient way to absorb nutrition immediately. My desire to help other Realtors and people in general is always at the center of what I do. I have many other hobbies and ways to express myself creatively. In addition to gardening, I do paper crafting, painting, card making, playing guitar (not often enough) and love art in general. My creative brain is always at work, that’s for sure.
ERIN: I am originally from San Diego, CA. I always have enjoyed exploring new places and had a desire to leave the city life. When I received an opportunity to move to Kodiak, Alaska and I jumped on it. I spent several years exploring the Kenai Peninsula where I discovered my passion for nature, large animals, and the great outdoors. Being outside was not only refreshing but it replenished my soul, making everyday challenges easier to deal with. Alaska will always have a special place in my heart but it is not home. In addition to being outdoors, in my spare time I do volunteer work & accounting. Currently I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Yamhill County, providing assistance for children in the foster care system - making sure life necessities are being met and they being cared for. Previously I have worked with organizations like Junior Achievement and the Polinsky Center. I attained my Real Estate License several years ago, but it was not until COVID that I made the decision to pursue as a full time opportunity. (Talk about bad timing!) But it gave me a chance to focus on my clients, my education, the non-profit I want to create and the direction I want my business to go.
YCRG: What is it about Yamhill County you love the most?
JENNI: I love the people, the food, the wine, the activities but, I really love how close it is to amazing beautiful spaces. Just driving up into the hills down tree lined gravel roads, beautiful vineyards and oh the sunsets are unbelievable, you can escape the day to day grind and transport yourself to another time and place in just minutes. Who wouldn’t want to live here?
ERIN: My family is small and very important to me. I moved to Oregon to be closer to my mother, who was already living here. I fell in love with Yamhill County - the scenery, the wildlife, the friendly people, the sense of community & not to mention the WINE! Yamhill County’s central location allows me easy access to numerous outdoor activities that I had grown so fond of in Alaska. It feels like home and I want to be apart of this happy, friendly community.
YCRG: What would a client expect by working with you?
JENNI: All of my clients can expect me to show up for them in a professional and caring manner, from the start to the closing table and beyond. I am adamant about maintaining a good relationship with everyone involved in the transaction from the lender, the photographers, the appraiser, other Realtors, title company and more. My clients can expect me to be available for them for any and all questions or help them find the answers. I work together with my clients to help them attain their goals and dreams whether they are buying or selling. I love being an advocate for each client in all of the negotiating stages. The “Deal” is important! The closing is important. I work diligently until the closing table and beyond.
ERIN: Helping making a difference in people’s lives is a central reason I got into Real Estate initially. In all areas of my life I strive to give people my best. I am honest, loyal and trustworthy. I will always look out for my clients best interest and push to get their needs met while bringing a little fun and laughter to such serious transactions. I promise to always communicate and celebrate the accomplishments when we succeed.
YCRG: WHY eXp?
JENNI: The reason I chose to be an eXp Agent back in 2016 has everything to do with their vision, their standards and the endless opportunities to work with and learn from some of the best in the industry around the country and now the world. Many of the industry leaders have brought huge teams over to eXp for the same reason that I decided to hang my hat here. With that said, it is because of the collaborative environment which eXp offers that allows me to have generous resources to offer my clients, above and beyond just the Real Estate transaction. eXp Realty has the latest efficient technology available for agents’ use. Never before has the online environment been more important. We were all set up for this last year, way ahead of the rest of the industry, with the innovative cutting edge, online virtual offices and meeting rooms. ERIN: I have always been a self starter and highly motivated. I wanted to work under a brokerage that allowed me the freedom to run my business my way but which also provided support and sense of family. I wanted to focus on helping my clients through a tough negotiation process and contract writing and make a challenging transaction easy. eXp offers a fantastic networking tool, making it easy to ask questions and have access to hundreds of realtors answers. It’s wonderful to be able to connect with eXp agents all over the world. In addition to the incredible technology available, the ownership & education opportunities that eXp offers was impossible to pass up
Why do you like to work together?
Jenni: The minute I met Erin, there was an immediate connection like we had known each other before. We just seemed to be on the same wave length, have the same energy and have so many things in common. So it was natural that we have become good friends and business partners. We have learned to trust each other and enjoy sharing ideas and bringing to the table our unique backgrounds. We both love eXp Realty and share in a common mission of excellent customer service. Our mutual respect for one another is amazing and I look forward to many more years of collaboration.
Erin: When I first started out really researching the area and the real estate market and looking for a brokerage to work under, Jenni popped up into my life and had such a wonderful, positive spirit that I knew I wanted to work closely with her. Turns out she and I have some of the same passions like helping others, nutrition and healthy living and the drive to always strive to be better and make a positive impact on people. She and I have a couple business projects that we share and have built a great friendship and I look forward to the future and all that we accomplish and the people we help.
