Welcome to the September edition of Your Child in Whittlesea! We have a winner! Seven-year-old, Sanuda has won the $60 voucher from Gifts for Blokes in last month’s Father’s Day Kids Corner Competition. Also, a special mention to five-yearold Sienna who drew a very detailed picture of her ‘Daddy on his bike’. A big thank you to all our participants, ranging from the ages of 3 to 8, all of whom will receive a small gift and a certificate from Your Child for being our very first competition entrants. As we welcome the first day of spring, as per our calendar, I hope someone has reminded mother nature to conform to our chronological conventions and designated seasons! I hope warm weather is on its way and we can soon shake off the winter chills and sniffles and enjoy some warmth and sunshine. As parents, sometimes our social calendar seems to be filled with play dates, parent helper dates, kids birthday parties and reading roster dates. I remember when one of my kids was in Prep and I was rostered-on to help with reading. His first question was, “Why do you need to come and help with reading? Doesn’t my teacher know how to read?” Once again, I would like to remind you to “LIKE” us on Facebook and become a part of the ‘Your Child in Whittlesea’ community.
