YellowBelly had just completed work on the Brewery, although as he dug further into the dark earth, he felt a strange vibration emanating from one of the walls of the cavern, taking his trusty pickaxe in hand, he decided to investigate.
As he drove his pick into the rock-face an unnatural luminescence seeped from within the stones. Driven by curiosity, he delved further, uncovering the source of the eldritch light: a vast, ancient mechanism that seemed to envelop the very roots of the Brewery itself!
A piece of the mechanism had dislodged in the digging and glowed with a faint light. As YellowBelly held it in his hand the instruments of it’s clock-like face took on a life of their own and began to move. Suddenly, the device seemed to explode in a blinding light!
As the light danced around the cavern it coalesced into a circular portal, at the other side YellowBelly could discern brewing tanks, like his own, but different. Everything was familiar, but at the same time, totally alien.
Just then a figure lurched into view, and YellowBelly stood stunned as he stared into his own face, but not! The figure was like a mirror image of himself, but twisted somehow, broken, rebuilt and completely bedecked in Blue!
Suddenly, the figure reached his mechanical arm through the portal and with a sinister smile, swiped YellowBelly’s precious recipe book from beneath his sash! YellowBelly could only look on in shock as the portal closed before him. The last thing he saw was a face, too like his own, sneering as the light left the cavern. Once again alone and in darkness, YellowBelly swore to discover the secrets of the mysterious device and to retrieve his lost recipes. At any cost.
