From Modules to Mingle: Philippines Resumes In-Person Classes After Two-Years

On August 22, 2022, the Philippines reopened complete face-to-face classes in all schools, after two years of modular instruction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was made by the Department of Education (DepEd) in coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). The reopening was based on the declining number of COVID-19 cases in the country and the success of the vaccination program.

In a statement, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte said that the department has been preparing for the reopening of face-to-face classes for several months. “We are all set to open our schools all over the country 22 days from now,” she said during the 2022 Brigada Eskwela national kick-off.

The reopening of face-to-face classes has been highly anticipated by students, parents, and teachers alike. Many have expressed their excitement and relief to finally return to traditional classroom learning.

DepEd and IATF-EID will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust policies as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, teachers, and staff.

Her performance for the Talent category certainly brought the crown closer to her grip.

“People’s applause is not the only factor in pageant success. Waving hands, bestowing sashes, and wearing a crown are not the only aspects of winning. There is more to it than that. “ She captioned in her Facebook Post after the competition, proceeding to publicly express her gratitude in the post to those who had helped and supported her throughout her journey. GNHS’ Drum and Lyre Corps unveils new uniform after 3 year hiatus

Gutalac Senior High School stands alone as independent school

Gutalac National High School’s Senior High School Department officially became a Stand-Alone school on February 8, 2023, under its School Principal II, Mr. Rezve M. Sael. The arrangements were done to cope with the growing number of students as well as the issues on facility and location that it shared with its affiliate school, Gutalac National High School. The Senior High School students and teaching staff now operate independently, hosting various activities and celebrations, further nurturing the academic growth of the students in a now exclusive environment. However, the institution still aims to collaborate and connect with its sister and founding school especially during out of town competitions and activities.

This separation followed just shortly after the school welcomed Dr. Eudila Hechanova as the new school principal of the Junior High School Department and Mr. Rezve M. Sael as the school principal of solely the Senior High School Department.

Formerly, the two campuses housed both Junior and Senior High School students, splitting the senior high school strands with the Academic Strands in Campus A and TVL strands in Campus B. After the separation, all senior high school strands and students rounded up in their current campus, Campus B. This campus still holds few sections of junior high school students due to the shortage of facility and classrooms in the other campus, Campus A, where majority of the junior high school students are at.

Warriors of Literacy: Project ExTRA MILE's Battle of the Four Tribes Triumphs in Improving Student Skills

Gutalac National High School's marching band members proudly showcased their new uniforms during the 44th Araw ng Gutalac opening last Monday, after almost 3 years of inactivity due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The new uniforms, which feature the colors of blue, gold, and white, are made of high-quality materials that will withstand the rigors of marching and performing. The uniforms have a modern, fitted design with intricate details, and are made comfortable and flexible for easy movement.

The school's band director, Mr. Geovanni M. Ante, acknowledged that the past few years have been difficult for everyone, especially for the students who missed out on the opportunity to participate in

the school's music program. He expressed his excitement to see the marching band back in action.

"We are thrilled to have our marching band back and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and dedication," he said. "These new uniforms are a symbol of our commitment to the students."

He further shared that the new uniforms were a much-needed boost for the students' morale and confidence, especially after a long hiatus.

The new uniforms are just one of the many ways that GNHS is investing in its music program. The school is committed to providing its students with quality education and experiences that will help them grow and succeed in all aspects of their lives.

On November 12, 2022, Project ExTRA MILE organized the Battle of the Four Tribes, an event aimed at improving students' grammar, reading comprehension, and oral communication skills. The event was filled with fun activities designed to help struggling readers while engaging all participants in a unique and exciting competition.

The Battle of the Four Tribes featured four teams: the Dwarves, the Gallant

Goblins, the Intrepid Elves, and the fierce Wolves. Each team competed in various challenges and activities, showcasing their skills and knowledge in a range of subjects. Throughout the event, the participating students showed exceptional courage and determination, displaying their understanding of key concepts while also improving their communication skills. The fairies, who acted as advisers, provided guid-

ance and support to their respective teams, helping them to perform at their best.

The Battle of the Four Tribes was a huge success, with all participants demonstrating significant improvements in their grammar, reading comprehension, and oral communication skills. The event also provided a platform for struggling readers to receive additional support and encouragement, helping them to achieve their academic goals.

Project ExTRA MILE expressed its gratitude to all participating students, advisers, and supporters, and praised them for their commitment to improving student literacy. The group promised to continue organizing similar events to help students improve their skills while also having fun.

Overall, the Battle of the Four Tribes was an incredible display of student talent and a testament to the power of engaging and interactive learning.

he youth's keen eyes and moral conscience have spotted several mishaps of unjust and error in the campus that must be addressed. Their ideologies have been expressed, and concerns must be corrected.

Compost Pit

It's quite ironic how each classroom has three incredibly big garbage bins but, in the end, the tiny compost pit is a mess of assorted trash! Every single piece of garbage is dumped altogether in the pit without any observance of segregation and recycling! Not only does this pose as a threat and danger to the students' health and safety but it also influences them to stop observing proper garbage disposal morals! What a mess!

Dress Code

The simplest definition of clothes is any material that appropriately covers up our bare bodies. Some students have become so shameful, wearing clothes that barely cover their bodies, flaunting their skin! Their excuse? It makes them feel happy, they're trendy, they're pretty, they don't need to listen to other people's opinions. Valid reasons? Not so, especially since it's their dignity and respect that are at stake. Why can't they just follow the dress code and dress conservatively like proper students?

Immorality/ Loss of Respect towards teachers

I don't see the border between teachers and students, anymore. Teachers shouldn't get too close to their students because studes often abuse that closeness and end up making fun or disrespecting the teachers. Students too shouldn't get too ahead of themselves and think that they are on par with their teachers that they think they can get away with any shenanigans. Such disgraceful acts can demoralize the teachers and make the students lose their morals and proper conduct.

Lust/Love Issues

The Junior High School stage houses students whose ages typically range from 11 to 16. Is that the right age to go head over heels crazy over someone who might not even be able read an entire paragraph straightforwardly? Not at all. Students shouldn't let their emotions get the best of them, love can wait but it seems like some can't wait and end up dating in every place their ignorant little minds can think of, and then poof! The tummy's big now. How shameless can they get that some even thought of dating and doing forbidden stuff in a church!

Hard Work and Dedication

The passion, dedication, and hard work of the teachers at GNHS continue to be a source of strength, courage, and determination for the entire student body. Thank you for being a positive influence in our lives. You instill a love for learning in all of us, and that is a gift that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate you more than words can express. Kudos to the teachers of GNHS!

Justice for hazing victims: Ending a deadly tradition

Hazing is not just a trivial issue that should be taken lightly. It is a cruel and senseless practice that has been going on for far too long, and the laws that were established to stop it are not enough.

Despite the existence of the Anti -Hazing Act of 1995 and the AntiHazing Act of 2018, hazing-related deaths still occur. And why is this the case? Because no matter how many laws we pass, how loudly we protest, or how fervently we support a campaign, if the system itself remains unchanged, all our efforts will be for naught.

The latest victim of hazing, John Matthew Salilig, was just another victim of a sick and twisted tradition that needs to be eradicated once and for all. Hazing is not a harmless tradition. It is a barbaric practice that has no place in modern society. It is time for us to put an end to it once and for all. We need to come together, stand up against injustice, and fight for what is right. We need to protect the innocent and hold the guilty accountable for their actions.

their crimes.

The heartbreaking truth is that hazingrelated deaths will continue to occur until we act, and the justice system does its job. We cannot afford to wait for another tragedy to happen before we start taking this issue seriously. We need to act now and make our voices be heard. We need to demand justice for the victims of hazing and ensure that those who perpetrate these acts are held accountable for

In conclusion, hazing is a serious problem that requires a serious solution. The laws that were established to prevent hazing are not enough, and justice is not always served. We need to be united in our fight against hazing, demand that the laws are enforced, and hold those who break them accountable for their actions. We need to put an end to this barbaric tradition once and for all and ensure that no more innocent lives are lost to hazing.

The Death of Truth: How social media is poisoning our democracy with fake news

In this digital era, the world seems to be at our fingertips with social media platforms offering limitless access to information. However, while it may seem like a boon, there is an ominous reality lurking in its shadowsthe rampant propagation of fake news. This malady has rapidly gained momentum and assumed alarming proportions in recent times and poses grave threats not only to democratic values but also endangers the foundation upon which society stands.

Fake news is essentially misinformation that is deliberately spread to mislead people. It can take many forms, from fabricated stories to doctored images and videos. The problem with fake news is that it often goes viral on social media, spreading like wildfire before the truth has a chance to catch up. This has serious consequences, as false information can shape public opinion and influence decisions that affect our lives.

One of the main reasons why fake news is so prevalent on social media is because it's so easy to create and spread. Anyone with an internet connection can create and share content, regardless of its accuracy or validity. Social media algorithms also tend to prioritize content that is more sensational or controversial, which means that fake news often gets more attention than real news.

So what can we do about this? The first step is to recognize the problem and take it seriously. We need to understand that fake news is not just harmless entertainment or a

harmless prank. It's a serious threat to our democracy and society as a whole. The second step is to be more discerning about the content we consume and share on social media. We should always fact-check information before sharing it and be wary of sensational or inflammatory headlines. Social media companies also have a responsibility to take action to curb the spread of fake news. They should invest in algorithms and tools that can identify and flag fake news, as well as promote reliable sources of information.

To bring matters to a close, the spread of fake news through social media is a serious problem that threatens our democracy and society. We must take action to combat this phenomenon, both as individuals and as a society. We need to be more discerning about the content we consume and share on social media, and social media companies must also take responsibility for their role in promoting reliable sources of information. If we don't take action now, the consequences could be dire.

Jeepney Phase Out: A War between Progress and Tradition

The Pandemic's Perfect Storm

“Para po, Manong!” This term has become an integral part of our culture as Filipinos, signifying the all too familiar transport vehicle that dominate our streets the jeepney. However, these kings of the road are at stake, threatened by the exact same thing that has been viewed as the way to total global advancement: technology and modernization.” The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people around the world to stay indoors, leading many to turn to mobile games as a form of entertainment and escape. However, this increase in mobile game usage has also brought about a rise in mobile game addiction, particularly in the Philippines.

Similar to how passengers hold on to the oftentimes rusty railing of the vehicle, the jeepney is holding on tightly for its dear reputation and existence against the Philippine Government’s plans of phasing out traditional jeepneys in favor of more modern and environmentally friendly models. The issue surrounding the most iconic land rovers of our kalyes has sparked controversy and concerns among drivers and passengers alike, drawing out mostly negative criticism and protests from the folk.

This issue stems from the country’s push for modernization as the government aims to address traffic congestion and pollution problems, as well as to improve safety and comfort of passengers. The jeepney phase-out’s aspirations of developing safer and more efficient public transport may sound like the start-up to further transport productivity and national progress. However, many jeepney drivers and operators have expressed concerns about the high cost of modernization and the potential loss of their livelihoods.

Government supporters argue that modernization is necessary to improve the country’s transportation infrastructure and to promote sustainable development. They also note that modern jeepneys are safer, more comfortable, and more fuel-efficient than their older counterparts.

Even if jeepney operators agree to the modernisation, the high production costs of purchasing and maintaining the new eco minibuses that will replace the jeepneys serve as a barricade. The new adjustments in operation may also become an issue especially if the process of modernization is slow and jeepney drivers are put under a stall. The time and cost for such modernizations may not be suitable

Bulb of Gold

The sound of a knife having contact with the chopping board. Skin being torn to pieces, body chopped into portions and even smaller portions. A tear slowly crawling its way out of the eye until it finally dripped, hitting the ground.

In recent months, not only the chopping of onion can make Filipinos cry, but also, it's money snatching price as the onion prices in the Philippines have risen sharply, causing concern for consumers across the country. The price of onions has quadrupled, with some areas seeing prices as high as Php 700 per kilogram, making it difficult for low-income families to afford this basic commodity and making onions even more expensive than meat.

The reasons for the increase in onion prices are complex, but one major factor is the shortage of supply due to a decrease in imports from India, one of the Philippines' major onion suppliers. India's export ban on onions, coupled with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to a decrease in supply and an increase in demand, causing the prices to rise off the roof.

High onion prices affect both consumers and the Philippine economy. Onions are essential to the food industry, which employs millions, and the price increase could cause a rise in living costs and harm the livelihoods of those working in the food industry.

The Philippine government has taken steps to address the situation, including increasing the minimum access volume for onion imports and launching an investigation into supply chain of onions. However, these measures may not be enough to address the current situation.

To tackle the issue of soaring onion prices, all stakeholders, including the government, farmers, and consumers, need to work together. This includes supporting local onion production, promoting sustainable agriculture, and providing aid to small farmers. Consumers can also help by reducing onion consumption and seeking alternative ingredients in their meals.

The issue of rising onion prices highlights the need for a more sustainable and resilient food system in the Philip-

in the current situation of the Philippines after having partially recovered from the fatal economic blows of the pandemic.

While the jeepney phase-out is a contentious issue, it is important to strike a balance between progress and tradition. The government must work with jeepney drivers and operators to find solutions that address their concerns and ensure that they are not left behind in the process of modernization. This includes providing financial assistance and technical support for the purchase of new vehicles, as well as promoting the development of alternative livelihoods for those affected by the phase-out.

It’s undeniable that on the local and current state, the jeepney phaseout is a crippling event to the places that have grown accustomed to it, and to the history that speak of their might. However, it’s much more important to view the long-term state of the country and its citizens. Through the improvements of jeepneys into modern minibuses, not only will the economy and livelihood of the Filipino vehicle operators enhance but so will the everyday lives of Filipinos be it environmental, security and comfort.

Perhaps the term phase-out is far too negative for the issue. We must not completely erase the jeepney from the history of Philippine roads, but rather try to find a way to make them and us adapt to the modern age. The jeepney mustn’t be phased out but rather become a better version of itself, from rusty colors to cool, modernized minibuses. Soon our country’s streets will show how we’ve successfully modernized culture as our new and modern minibuses let us feel the spirit of our once vibrant and traditional road ships.

pines. By working together, we can create a future where Filipino consumers have access to affordable and nutritious food, and farmers can thrive in a more stable and supportive market, and accordingly no longer have to endure the weight of a bulb of gold.

According to a recent study by the University of the Philippines, the number of Filipinos who play mobile games daily has increased from 52% in 2019 to 72% in 2021. Moreover, the study also found that 8% of the population suffers from mobile game addiction, which is a worrying trend.

Mobile game addiction is a major problem that can harm mental and physical health, as well as relationships. The addictive design of many mobile games, including in-app purchases, rewards, and social pressure, keeps users engaged and increases the risk of addiction.

One of the most popular mobile games in the Philippines is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which has over 116 million downloads worldwide. The game has a large and dedicated fan base in the Philippines, with tournaments and events held regularly. However, the game's popularity has also contributed to the rise in mobile game addiction, with players spending hours on end playing the game and neglecting other aspects of their lives.

To address this issue, the government and game developers need to work together to create awareness campaigns about the dangers of mobile game addiction and provide resources for those who need help. Game developers can also implement features that limit screen time and encourage breaks during gameplay.

It's important for individuals to recognize the signs of mobile game addiction, such as neglecting responsibilities, lack of sleep, and withdrawal symptoms when not playing the game. If you or someone you know is struggling with mobile game addiction, seek help from a mental health professional or support group.

Mobile games can be a great source of entertainment and social connection, especially during a pandemic. However, it's essential to maintain a healthy balance and not let mobile game addiction take over our lives.

As the sun rises, the streets come alive with the sound of bustling footsteps and honking cars. But amidst the chaos, there is one thing that remains constant: the unconditional love and sacrifice of mothers and women.

From the early morning hours until the late hours of the night, women all over the world work tirelessly to provide for their families and communities. They wake up before the sun to prepare breakfast, pack lunches, and send their children off to school with a kiss and a smile.

But it's not just the daily tasks that make mothers and women so special. It's the countless sacrifices they make in the name of love. kin against skin, nothing but hot air filling the dark, secluded room. As their hands glide along bare hips, the sensual tingle of lust irks the entirety of a being. Lost in a world of pleasure, lost to the sin of Asmo- deus, lost to a faulty conscience unholy mentality. Clandestine acts of love betrayed, and a trend amongst this generation of false lovers. Infidelity is perhaps the notsecret infection that plagues our society today.

An act that has become common among our newest generation, infidelity or cheating in the sense of relationships, has long been socially regarded as uncivilized and sinful. A romantic partner's disloyalty and engagement in romantic and sexual activity with other people aside from their exclusive partners does sound like an instance that would certainly muster utter displease and depression. In most cases, when a partner cheats, it draws the line between a happy, loving relationship, and broken hearts, tears, and lots of alcohol. As always, the victim would always prefer the latter. However, as ridiculous as this may sound, many are confused and have misunderstood the concept of cheating. Knowing the borders that differentiate cheating from close relationships, or polite gestures is

crucial for every relationship. Smiles, conversations, little instances of skin contact, and even online communication may or may not be signs of your partner cheating. To suspect is not an entirely bad thing but to overreact is too much of a response, inappropriate even. Cheating is an in-depth matter that is well-invested and secretly executed by your partner with much thought and effort. It is a conscious act that surpasses all levels of immorality, hatred, cowardice. It is the acts under those small smiles, the scandalous commitment behind those conversations, and the crippling lie behind your partner's reassurance.

A person's will to cheat may stem from several factors. Partner problems, where the color coding of flags is attributed to a certain trait of your partner. Third party circumstances, where one estranged heart become entangled with the two of yours. Or perhaps, cultural practices, where the term may be disguised under 'polygamy'. No matter what factor your partner may have tripped on, one thing is certain. Cheating is a choice.

The decision to lust over another body, to desire the warmth of another hearth, to break a loved, vulnerable heart is the choice of what was

once a reliable love that has become a slave to sin. This choice had every opportunity not to be done if

very rarely but not impossibly, to die. Infidelity is the carnal hunger speaking. It is pride and self-love that has gone overboard, making one think that they must be loved by more than one person, that they must be benefited by more than one. This fault has not just brought out weeping lovers, suicidal partners, and total destruction of a being. This has become the death of hope and trust, of love and commitment, of sincerity and dedication. Thrown to the side, loyalty weeps. It bawls but cannot do anything for it is gone, the deed has been done. The heart has broke, and love is lost to infidelity's clandestine choke.

SSP: Breaking Boundaries and Building Horizons with Research

Imagine an entire generation of intellectuals, veterans in the way of the microscope, connoisseurs of the elements, masters of motion, and generals in the deadliest defenses. The country's Department of Education definitely envisioned our society's illustrious future when they finally instituted the Special Science Program, taking the biggest step in nationwide development with its littlest constituents

SSP or the Special Science Program in the High School level establishes academic sections from Grades 7 to 10, that house students who will specialize in Science and Technology. The main highlight of this program that greatly distinguishes these sections from others is the inclusion of Research as a subject in their curriculum. These students will still be studying the 8 basic subjects but will provide more emphasis on their added one. To say that this subject is easy is hearsay, although we all do research in our everyday lives, to underestimate this domain of Science is to wish to become Schrödinger's Cat.

Now, let's take a magnified look at this subject. Research, if you search it up, is simply defined as the act of searching for something, again. Re- is again, search is to find something. To find something again. We're done with the basics, on to the complexities. Research, if you ask an SSP student, is a subject of tears and insomnia but more abundantly of learning, satisfaction, achievement, and a myriad of future opportunities and arms-length success.

This subject in the current curriculum educates students on the fundamentals of Research. It starts off with general topics such as formulating

hypotheses, learning its advantages, and the most notable innovations and studies of modern Science and Technology. The subject elevates to teaching students all about a formal research paper, its parts, content, importance, variations, and its many types. The final quarters of these sections will then be used for the subject's perhaps most nerve-wracking part. Defense. Students will create proposals for their own unique innovations. After approval, they will be making their innovations come to life, and defend their effort against a panel of SciTech maesters, against questions of effectivity, accessibility, and rationality.

The life of an SSP student is not one that can be snoozed over. However, the subject that seemingly drains the life out of these students is the very same one that allows all other life to foster and advance. Research isn't an easy subject, a notion that's universally agreed on, but it is the reason why our lives now are easier. Every single thing our eyes can perceive, and every light bulb of an idea your mind can come up with right now exists because of Research. As it creates, it also eradicates. In modern times, this has been used to solve global conflicts and eradicate biological infections and weapons,

cure every sickness and disease, even try to wipe it out entirely.

Do you know what Research and Imagination have in common? How do these two polar opposites intersect? Limits. Limitless limits. The parlance of Research is as vast as the ocean of our imaginations. The tiniest atom to the entirety of the multiverse have been touched and tackles by this concept. Research, if you get to know it better, can be simply defined as everything's why, what, and how, as everything's existence. Now, this is the privilege that SSP has to offer

DepEd's Special Science Program is a chance for students to intensify their scientific and technological prowess as they explore every nook and cranny of the universe through the language of the world, Research. This subject of which these students have the privilege of learning will not only help them grow to become the bright future of the nation, but aid them in improving and discovering their abilities, and widening their horizons in everything science. We are utilizing the complexity and wonders of everything, instilling them in our young minds, creating a generation of intellect, and building the nation's brilliant beginnings.

Vinice: Human Development or Demise?

Of all the wails the world heard, yours was the loudest.

On November 15, 2022, as midnight silenced Manila, the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Medical Center catered to a laboring woman whose yet to be born child had been the reason for the swarms of national media outlets in the hospital. On 1:29 am, baby Vinice Mabansag was welcomed into the world with a cake, a banner, toys and a grandiose title.

The 8 billionth baby, the Philippine Commission on Populations and Development recorded baby Vinice. Her birth had thrilled the nation as she symbolized the world population's exceed from the 7 billion count, however she also symbolically represents the human race's demise.

8 billion people and counting. That's what baby Vinice's existence preceded. And despite birth being morally understood as a blessing or a wondrous event, hers has a subtle fear attached to it. The threat of overpopulation looms over, as our natural resources deplete alongside our ongoing multiplication.

8 billion people at present, a number that is expected to rise in the coming years. The rate at which the population is increasing is alarmingly fast, and is unmatched by any sort of world government law or measure. There has been no surplus of preparations and planning. Lack of education, family planning, and lack of commitment to development. All of these lead to the world's increasing population, increasing poverty, and increasing problems. As our population increases so does our need to consume and utilize resources and tools from our limited environment, and these borders grow more barren and destroyed every single time.

Baby Vinice Mabansag of the Philippines, a healthy baby girl whose birth shook the whole world. She is the symbolic 8 billionth baby of the world, a title that she won against the thousands of other babies born on the same moments as her worldwide. Vinice has become the embodiment of how far humans have developed, how crowded our planet is and how deathly our demise will be

soon. Vinice's innocence will however, distract us from these disastrous deliriums and hopefully be more than enough inspiration for all of us to learn, change and grow lesser in number and more in the spirit of saving the planet. Let us make her birth, a milestone of our development and an opportunity to become better stewards, and build a better world for the upcoming generation, where Vinice can

province from March 24 to 29. This once-in-a-school-year opportunity certainly wasn't taken for granted by the students of the various schools as they engaged in various activities and got to understand the mechanisms behind the machines during the event. One of the participants was Gutalac National High School, whose students were so passionate in visiting the exhibit even if it was 2-hours away. They'd give anything for a chance to relax and explore in the walls and wonders of Science.

If you were there, you'd certainly find the popular Newton's Cradle and try to get it to swing as accurately as possible. Or you could've been so ecstatic with the Van de Graaff generator that your hair would literally stand. The Uphill Roller and Anti-gravity Mirror would have questioned your sanity and the Plasma sphere would've awakened your inner superhero senses. The ElectricityGenerating Bike would've inspired you to work out and the Frozen Shadow made for great poses and pictures. These are just a few of the 22 machines and models that the exhibit featured, that the students explored and learned about, and that would kindle the flames of passion to learn science and

To say that the exhibit was a fun field trip for the students would be an understatement. The idea of making students access and experience scientific prototypes and machinery is already a sort of training. Making these machinery accessible in urban and even the most

A Journey through the Exhibit

To mesmerize through the wonders of the scientific world and captivate students to become future practitioners of any field of science is perhaps the Philippine Science Centrum's main goal in organizing Science Works. What's even better is they've made the opportunity open throughout the entire nation by devising the ever so clever, Traveling Exhibit. An exhibit showcasing various scientific prototypes and models that display the complexity and fun in science, as well as the importance of educating the nation on this most fundamental subject.

In Zamboanga del Norte, the Traveling Exhibit stopped at Sindangan National High School, and opened its doors to schools all throughout the

remote parts of the country is already a vision in action. The PSC's program has helped thousands of students across the nation's unreachable areas to discover their scientific interests, and hopefully become experts of the subject sooner or later.

That single hour that the exhibit had given to each school was already enough for students to enjoy, already enough for them to spark, to be engrossed in the matters of Science, to be more aware of the value that the complexity of the subjects it holds. The Traveling Exhibit is a symbol of the country's push at nationwide development, an effort of supporting and further nurturing the youth's education, proof that knowledge has no bounds and knows no rough terrain. To bewilder isolated imaginations with traveling knowledge should be more widely implemented for the future generations, to achieve not just comprehensive inclusion and attention but also instigate, in the youngest sector, national development.

AI:Better Humans?

It's frightening to believe that the experts and masters of every action of mankind, every event in history, every piece of information on Earth, are not humans. Those whose knowledge are at par with humans are codes and green boards whose significance could die at the simplest press of a button.

Artificial Intelligence has become the greatest technological breakthrough in these modern times. AI has had been a topic of heated interest over the past few years and is simply defined as intelligence possessed by either robotic machinery or digital systems, that have been acquired from all extensive human knowledge. In many other cases, AI is an ability of technological entities to mimic the intelligence and skills of humans. However, the notion that AI is quickly making people's lives easier, information more accessible and tasks more convenient is undeniably true.

It comes in various forms with its earlier renditions of robotic machinery, a popular example is Hanson Robotics' 'Sophia'. Sophia captured the whole world with its appearance in public TV shows where it showcased its unsettling resemblance of human emotions and expressions. The

latest bodies of Artificial Intelligence are online platforms, websites and tools that work to provide information, analyze data, provide media, and perform other technical tasks. ChatGPT has become the most famous AI tool worldwide, with its ability to perform any given task regardless of the complexity of the instructions.

Humanity has uncovered only mere fractions of the world's knowledge, and our current body of knowledge today has only been acquired through centuries of painstaking processes and discoveries. It is without a doubt that the rise of Artificial Intelligence has provided convenience to everyday activities, it has also become proof of humans' excellence in engineering. However, the potential that AI holds in immobilizing human activity has posed a threat.

students enjoyed the Travelling Exhibit experience.

Artificial Intelligence has already become so advanced even in its earliest forms, and when equipped with reason and desire, the world may elevate into full-on technological advancement but with the possibility of the extinction of humans, or if not, human significance.

Will she conquer this round?

A deafening silence wracked the crowd, as they anticipated her next move, with tension in the atmosphere, Hidilyn Diaz stood there, sweating, ready to lift the 224 kg dumbbell, ready to taste gold.

She lifted the dumbbell, levelling it to her shoulder, then raised it above her head and properly positioned her feet with precision. In that very moment Hidilyn wasn't only able to conquer the heavy dumbbell nor lift her country but was also able to lift her career with determination and perseverance.

CLANG! The sound of the dumbbell as it contacted the floor was barely audible among the roaring cheers and claps from her fellow Filipinos who all stood up, waving the Philippine flag, screaming Diaz's name.

She stepped on the Champion stage, biting the sweet gold medal, knowing that she'll be bringing it home.

Such time had passed, years it has been. The triumph was still etched in her mind. But is it the only time a champion ever rocks a stage?

This serves as a tragic reminder of how fickle our support for our sports

heroes can be. We celebrate them in victory but abandon them in defeat.

Some people argue that Diaz no longer needs financial assistance since she's already made a name for herself in the international sports scene. However, as an athlete, Diaz has to secure her future, and it's not fair that she has to do it on her own. It's the government's responsibility to take care of its athletes, especially those who have proven their worth by bringing pride and glory to the country.

The sad truth is that the Philippines has a terrible track record when it comes to supporting its athletes. We only rally behind them when they're winning, but once they encounter a setback, the support quickly dissipates. It's a short-sighted approach that ultimately does more harm than good. We need to realize that our athletes need sustained support, not just fleeting attention. We should invest in their training, provide them with the resources they need, and give them the recognition they deserve. Only then can we truly elevate the level of sports in the Philippines and bring home more victories.
