Chang, Yenwei Born in 1986 The interesting point in this design lies in that it resembles exploration. The creator often feels that with the Treasure Map in hand, he can see where he has visited, where he has not explored, and what he should do, where he should go for pursuit of beauty along with probation into balance between functionality and modeling style, so as to study the user, market, texture, surface treatment, and so on. In this work, I have recorded my stumbling along the course of groping for design inspiration in school, case taking, and workplace. This book is the chronology of my creations’ inventory checking and retrospection. Even if it seems the activities are irrelevant with one another, but I know clearly—all my footprints have been accumulated with tight interconnection. Through this work, truly wish the reader can know me, and see me.

Market Survey Before any design work can begin on a product, there must first be a definition of what the product or product line might be. This definition’s genesis can be consumer demand driven, trends and fashion, competitor products, retail buyer advice, continuation of an existing successful line or company brand strategy, or even based on a really cool and unique invention or idea.
Make mock-up Including a mock-up in design work is the fastest and surest way to develop the user interface of an appliance, specifically when the product is large enough to surround the user. Compared with mere images or virtual models, physical mock-ups allow making more detailed observations, creating better solutions, obtaining more credible feedback, and making more justified decisions to serve the next project phase.
Draw from my Imagination There are a wide variety of ways to convey ideas, from hand sketches, blockin silhouettes and rough scribbles to thorough drawings, turnarounds and detail views. USER INTERFACE DESIGN A complete user interface design utilises end users by creatively analysing collected information. The more complicated the device or the system is and the more challenging the operating situations are, the more crucial it is that the basic principles of user interface design are clear and applied consistently. When the cornerstones of user logic are readily in place, the user experience is intuitive and pleasant. In addition to normal operating situations, good interface design covers all special and error situations and describes them in a way.

You're more likely to see people closing doors and windows to keep the heat out and save on the air-conditioning. As a matter of fact, air conditioning is a closed internal circulation system, in which dirty air, bacteria, chemical pollutants (e.g. formaldehyde), etc.,
circulate incessantly indoors and directly affects residents’ health. As a result, the Flow2 One-AHR Ventilation Fan works like a mini heat recovery system.

SAI ECONOMY AIRCRAFT SEAT S A I Av i a t i o n B u s i n e s s D e p a r t m e n t ’ s c o r e development philosophy is “human-oriented” design. For this purpose, SAI implements both ergonomics, and aesthetics as the basis for designing and styling of aircraft seating. SAI adopts a “simple and pure” design concept with clean lines for highlighting the unique shape of aircraft seating, but also makes good use of the warm/cool color combination for visual appearance. In addition, SAI design approach offers an comforting experience for passengers by integrating industrial and ergonomic design for use in traditionally narrow spaces. designer:Chang, Yenwei Chang, Chuwei date:2014.06
Background and Motive In recent years, low-cost airline travel prevailed aboard, economic class that configured equipments are more simple and limited is the lowest grade cabin seats. But the relatively low price, economic class is still the choice of the most people and ride quality is an important factor for passengers. So how to improve the safety, comfort and versatility of seats of economic class and added features of human factors to enhance the ride quality is important. The purpose is to design thoughtful, safe and comfortable seats, it will apper unique visual and image of company.
Design object Basic seats of economic class, Boeing 737-800. 189 seats (a maximum seating capacity ); 162 seats ( two typocal seat capacity Seat specification seat width : 440mm seat depth : 430mm seat height : 450mm seat pitch : 790~810mm leg room : >665mm ; 166mm armrest width : 50mm armrest rise angle : 22~35 degree
Head/neck support is important to have an adjustable back/neck rest which can be adjusted in the traditional way (height) and in the new way (distance). The new form of neckrest adjustment should provide a range of up to 37mm, and the neck level stiffnes <1KPa (soft), neck support is important than headrest. The ideal pressure distribution for driving a premium car, accoriding to Zenk(2008) and Mergl(2006). If we assume the posture in aircraft seats is similar, this is the ideal pressure distribution. Seat pan front upwards, angle dependent on backrest angle: avoid shear forces (Goosseens & Snijders,1995)
The position of lumbar support is in 120-180mm above SRP and the adjustable distance is 160mm (Korte,2013). The position of neck support is in 655-770mm and the adjustable distance is 45mm.
3D Modeling 3D models are used to create a product prototype to evaluate its design concept, details, manufacturing costs, etc. Approach for creating a product prototype is truly flexible: 3D model can be created either from a hand drawing, from a 2D sketch or even from an idea to easily work on a product design and refine the model without creating any additional sketches demonstrating product from different views.
Draw from my Imagination
Design Point
1.Headrest was substituted by neck support, to enhance the comfort of the seat that add a adjustable neck support and lumber support. 2.The functions of backplane are considered to add a place for pad and a dining table for other application. 3.A new image of SAI aircraft seat. Use can according to their needs to adjust the lumbar support and neck support on vertical position, the adjustable distance of neck support and lumbar support is 45mm and 160mm. Cloth cover of neck support and lumbar support could be detached for cleaning.
User put down the horizontal pole to fix the pad or cell phone.Plastic plate combined with backplane, it is disassemble.Cup holders be placed two cups or hanged something by user. Table has places of a cup and tableware for dining. Table change into declining shelf which has 15 degree as a unit between 0~60 degree. Declining shelf became a better viewing angle for users.
Functional Prototype We made the 1:1 prototype, cushion and support of neck and lumbar were used PU material by handwork. the surface was covered with cloth and painted. ABS hulls of body were made by CNC.
KARMA RESEARCH WHEELCHAIR The S-Ergo is equipped with the world’s first innovative S-Ergo System, designed according to the body curve that evenly distributes user's weight, greatly reduces user’s pressure and stabilizes sitting position. Hence, it minimizes the potential of developing pressure ulcers and scoliosis.Utilizing the curved seating cushion, the S-Ergo series provides users with the ultimate wheelchair experience through a much more comfortable and enjoyable sensation. designer:Chen, Shaoyong Chang, Yenwei Chen, Chuwei Shao, Ting Lai, Yanru date:2013.06
Background and Motive A wheelchair that is not fitting can increase the chance of various side effects caused by long-term wheelchair use. For example, a wheelchair that is unable to help relieve pressure in the lower back or buttocks can cause damages to skin and pressure sores. A second example is when a wheelchair is equipped with armrests that are too high. Long-term shrugging can lead to stiff deltoid muscle. A third example is when the seat is too wide, which can cause poor sitting posture and spine deformation.
Design object Traditionally, designers imagine, design and manufacture products or interfaces for able-bodied users. In the areas of assistive technology and design for disability, human factors must be taken into account during the design. The final user capabilities but also others specific expertise can constitute these human factors. All wheelchairs provide seating and postural support as well as mobility. Good postural support is important for everyone, especially for people who have an unstable spine or are likely to develop secondary deformities. The significance of good seating and postural support can mean the difference between the user being active and an independent member of society and the user being completely dependent and at risk of serious injury or even death. All body contact surfaces provide seating and postural support. Together, these parts of the wheelchair help the user to maintain a comfortable and functional posture and to provide pressure relief. This is very important for users who have problems with skin sensation.
Apart from ensuring that the wheelchair is safe and effective, human factor is a way of gathering important information that can be useful for all stakeholders – users, designers, providers, manufacturers and funding agencies. research will help wheelchair designs evolve so that their quality and effectiveness continually improve. user ends up sitting on an unstable seat without pressure relief. The result can be that the user will develop pressure sores or stop using the wheelchair owing to discomfort. Many users require some adaptations or modifications to their cushion to help provide additional postural support or pressure relief.
The angle between the seat and the backrest (seat to back angle) should be between 80 and 125 degrees.Different backrest heights should be available. The backrest should support the normal curvature of the spine. The middle of the back should be able to rest further back than the back of the pelvis.
Wheelchair backrests designed for lateral stability, comfort, and adjustability wheelchair backrests are designed to optimize function and comfort! Their contoured back shells, soft foam, and adjustable components offer stability and comfort to reduce fatigue and maximize function. The extensive size and contour range means there is a wheelchair back to meet your exact needs.
Design Point A wheelchair and cushion should meet the seating and postural support requirements of the user(s). This includes the size of the wheelchair, the type of cushion, and the adjustability and ergonomic factors of the wheelchair. All wheelchairs should be provided with a cushion that is appropriate to manage the user’s risk of developing pressure sores.A wheelchair should be evaluated based on the seating and postural support measures, and the results should be available to the users and purchasers.Cushions should be evaluated and rated based on their ability to provide comfort, pressure relief and postural support.
The backrest provides users the necessary postural support. It needs to be of different heights but usually available in two sizes .Some users require more support from a backrest than others. For some users, a high backrest can reduce their ability to propel themselves effectively. Backrests may be sling or solid types with foam cushioning and upholstery. It is recommended that wheelchairs and cushions be evaluated based on the seating and postural support performance measures. : • seating dimensions and adjustability • cushion type and characteristics.
Functional Prototype We made the 1:1 prototype, using the actual wheelchair production. the surface was covered with cloth and painted. Connector and ABS seat were made by CNC.
GLASS VESSEL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES It is to keep warm at a temperature appropriate to optimize the flavor of the wine.Innovative modern design. These glasses are made of sturdy borosilicate glass.
designer:Chang, Yenwei , date:2016.12
Background and Motive The pattern of “wine” resembles that of water in soft expression. But in spite of ”wine’s” soft outlook, the inner is filled with fierce fire. With dialect, wine deducts the story of itself. Particularly, in the level of philosophy, it is both feministic and chauvinistic, negative and positive, relaxation as well as tense, and cheerful as well as lamenting. Meanwhile, in the society nowadays, drinking wine has also become one of social approaches. Willing or not, for business schmooze or recreation, drinking wine is a kind of socialization for maintenance of men’s affections.
Interpretation x Association
Design Point
1. T h e m o d e l i n g s t y l e m u s t b e eye catching, and express the feelings to be delivered distinctly and definitely. And, the sixth sense (intuition) is induced under Five Senses, so different audience can interpret divergent implications to embody the complexity of wine’s personality.
2.To remove the complicated Lenovo body, simplify the modeling style or design the appearance for the user to exert with care. 3.To create an opposite modeling style— t h e b a s e a n d b ot t l e s e e m l i ke t wo geometric shapes that are unlikely to exist—slightly tense, doubtful, and curious, and making the user feel like exploring true inner quality (wine).
D r i n k i n g w a te r i s a s o c i a l activity with false, sincere, cheer ful characters melted together and interacting with one another. Although people have different personalities, they wear a variety of masks to coordinate with others under social activities. The lower part of the metal plating mirror that reflects the surrounding environment represents man after socialization. As for the upper part, it symbolizes the real self after drinking wine—
by instilling your real self is into the framework of society, it becomes exactly the YOU in the eye of the world. On the other hand, the creator geometrizes the goblet and removes the redundant parts. The piercingly chilly style was set off with the metal to get along with glass, which resembles the forever elegant 007 intelligencer.
For the mellower and rounder shape, it is a kind of personality with fierce, sharp fire in the inner part for formation of the dual personality, which thus generates an unstable sense. The circular wine container gets along with the somewhat slender lower part, so that the user has the sense of prudence in drinking liquid inside. And, with integration of the modeling style’s implication with functionality, the inner metal tube was sharped at the oblique angle,
while seams are made on the external shell for air to ventilate t h ro u g h t h e c o n t a i n e r a n d avoid the candle fire to burn the drinker’s face. Just because of this oblique angle, the user can appreciate fire and light inside. This design delivers the message that even perfect people will generate emotions in their heart, so people had better not judge others from the superficial outlook.
