Yesenia Thibault-Picazo

Yesenia Thibault-Picazo is a London based designer, born 1987 in Paris. Defining herself as a 'material teller', Thibault-Picazo explores the narrative potential of materials. She envisions the designer of today as a facilitator rather than a simple creator. In this sense, interdisciplinary collaborations constitute a crucial part of her practice. In 2013, she graduated from the MA Textile Futures course at Central Saint Martins, where she initiated the project ‘Craft in the Anthropocene’. Thibault-Picazo's diploma work is a material investigation which forecasts the future of geology, explores speculative narratives and interrogates the evolution of our relationship with nature. Trained from a young age as a classical violinist, Thibault-Picazo composes electronic and acoustic music, played on various instruments. Her work has been exhibited on acclaimed design shows in Milan, Eindhoven and London.
