Our Pathfinders Program is a four-year, individualized, mentoring and career program that offers academic, professional and extracurricular experiences to all high school students. Created and directed by Ms. Shifra Hanon, this innovative program, a fitting complement to college guidance, is an exciting way for students to strengthen their college portfolios, build resumes and network with industry professionals. With guest speakers, trips, internship opportunities, career fairs and a wide range of contacts and connections from our alumni family and beyond, Pathfinders offers each student the opportunity to discover and pursue his or her own unique path.

The Pathfinders team also provides students with professional skill building opportunities through coaching in resume writing, email etiquette, and interviewing methods. Students meet individually with team members to tap into their true passion.

The Guidance Department is comprised of an unparalleled group of social workers and psychologists. Guidance staff help students, parents and faculty navigate the social, emotional and academic challenges of the formative years. Freshmen are matched with individual guidance counselors who follow them through their Senior year. The Guidance team provides a confidential and supportive relationship where students can freely share their feelings about academic challenges, social pressures, and family concerns.

The College Guidance process at Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School (JBHS) is based on a four-year student-focused partnership. Throughout their high school experience, JBHS students have the attention and support of all members of our counseling staff as they develop their individual academic plans to achieve their collegiate goals. A team of five college counselors support students in all aspects of the college process, including college selection, the application, and finally, college choice. By providing individualized attention to students and their families, we strive to connect each student with the college that best fits his or her needs, talents and dreams. The Career and College Institute includes College Day, a Speaker Series and other student-focused events.
