The Pathfinders Speaker Series provides students with an opportunity to hear from professionals in a variety of different career fields. Students gain first hand insight and a better understanding of the many industries and career paths from which they can choose. Students sign up on an opt-in basis to participate in lectures that generally accommodate between 15 and 20 students.

Following the lecture, students have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with each professional. The program consists of an interactive or problem-solving component for the students to gain a better idea of a realistic “day in the life” scenario that can come up in a career field.

The Shifra Hanon Pathfinders Career Day

For over 10 years, The Shifra Hanon Pathfinders Department has hosted an annual Career Day for Juniors and Seniors. Various professionals across many industries, including several prominent Flatbush alumni, are invited to share their insights about their chosen careers. The day includes thoughtful discussions between guest speakers and students on how to balance the tasks of a job with family life, hobbies, and volunteer activities.
