This project shows research on the potential of a railroad alignment through a pastoral landscape. ‘How can a Railroad from Veenendaal towards Wageningen capitalize on this legacy?’ To answer the question, the primary focus is on the poetic dialogue with the horizon and the poplar trees.

PROJECT ‘Temporary’ 1 l KINGS CROSS
Flying Whale
‘Flying Whale’ is a temporary super-scale balloon installation which creates huge shadow and also offers public space. During the period of King’s Cross redevelopment, it is expected that the high pollution will attack the site. This tethered whale balloon will use an innovative lighting system to provide real-time reports on atmospheric pollution. The changing color of the installation offers not only enjoyable mood but also environmental warning message to visitors.
PROJECT ‘Temporary’ 2 l LEA VALLEY
Swimming Man
The main idea for this project is to install a temporary Olympic sculpture on Channelsea Island. Olympic main stadium and Aquatic centre will be built nearby Channelsea Island by 2012. I decided to use this locational feature of the site and put a green swimming man who is heading for 2010 London Olympic on the tidal river. Moreover, the man will be covered in every crevice with vegetation, a real 3-D green experience. The planting strategy will have a concept which is divided in 3 parts by the different conditions of changing river water levels.

Experimental Landscapes l Heathrow Airplot
Green Hero Green Hero is an 18 meter, five-storeys vertical farm tower. The purpose of Green Hero mainly aims to produce local foods as well as to offer community spaces and fortress to get involved in protecting Airplot and stopping Heathrow’s third runway plans The robot shape is inspired by the imagination of young children who have the perception that robots can save the world
