Triad’s Best For Family Fun in Guilford

With a three in one attraction, it’s no wonder that the Greensboro Science Center won fi rst place title as the Triad’s Best For Family Fun in Guilford County. The education, interactive center is a premier family attraction in North Carolina that offers the state’s fi rst accredited inland aquarium, a handson science museum, an accredited Animal Discovery Zoological Park, a state-of-the-art OmniSphere Theater, and SKYWILD, an animalinspired treetop adventure park. Located at 4301 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro, the 501 (c) 3 non-profi t organization offers special attraction, themed and unthemed, throughout the year for Triad residents.

Recently, the Greensboro Science Center has announced to new exhibits. The Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfl y House and the Amazing Butterfl ies traveling exhibit. In the Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfl y House, guests can see native butterfl ies up close and discover how they can put conservation into action by choosing garden plants that serve as hosts and food sources for pollinators.

The Amazing Butterfl ies exhibit, created by The Natural History Museum in London in collaboration with Minotaur Mazes, invites guests to shrink down into the undergrowth to become one of the most extraordinary creatures on earth. A challenging journey teeming with friends and foes will reveal the unusual relationship between caterpillars, butterfl ies and their natural surroundings. Guests go on an adventure through the leaves, learn how to move like a caterpillar, discover an ant that reaps the reward of an unusual friendship, then transform into a butterfl y and take fl ight. Families can explore the interactive experience and learn the surprising challenges butterfl ies face every day.

With all of these things to do and unique exhibits, it’s also no surprise that the Greensboro Science Center has also been garnered the fi rst place position in the Best Museum category.
